Fabulous! Keep it going mate👏
Can't believe the Europe trip was last summer....Spain next 👀❤💫
It was a good little ride, glad you enjoyed it. And sorry for tipping into you at the end there 😂 next challenge is to do the Hundred House run in Wales in July. That WILL be carnage! 😂😂
Great to see your enjoying your new bike! Mud plugging without knobblies is always exciting! Would you have tried that trail on the interceptor? Also A fine example of horse etiquette. You’re a credit to bikers!
Pesa mucho mucho
I guess that answers the question ‘can the MT handle the muddy tracks that make up a lot of British byways?’
Looks like a great outing ❤
I recognise some of these trails from a TRF route down that way. I think with some other tyres, that MT could be the perfect all rounder. 👍
@@C90_Adam you most definitely will, any idea what route you did? I think the tyres will change everything!
I wonder, how well would a BMW 1300 GS keep up with you?
Depends on the rider! If you go watch the most recent, I know a guy who went up that hill on one 😂 needed a push mind…
How harsh / stiff is the suspension? Everybody says its stiffer than Himalayan 450? It’s the only thing thats keeping me from buying mt insted of the himi
I mean it’s all adjustable, so I guess it depends on how you have it set up. I’ve left mine as it came out of the dealership, and it’s sweet. Splitting hairs really, but the himy Id say is a little comfier - but it’s preference as I much prefer the MT for off road. It’s nice to feel what your riding over imo
@@Papanchasonline Ive just came back from Canary Islands and rode there on a Crf300l. It was super comfy and I thought that I want something like this in my bike. Problem with the mt is that you cant do a test drive here where I live. Ive rode the himi and it was ok. Not perfect but ok and now in thorn. Mind says Himi, heart gose the MT way ;)
Excellent point on respecting the Green Lanes. People forget they are classed as roads and the same rules apply. A lot of riders treat them as impromptu motocross tracks hence why so many are under threat of closure. Yes, I get that we all like to have a bit of fun but a bit of thought now and then doesnt hurt.
This is the sad fact of the matter - oh we had some fun today. Vlog on that to come 🎅🏻
I agree, very happy with mine too. I have the aftermarket GPS mount which is just above the dash & the Garmin XT2 Zumo.
Do you have a link to this? Would love to check it out - the mount that is
@Papanchasonline I've had a couple of goes at replying but seems UA-cam/Google are too sensitive for their own good. Apologies Man. ✌️😎

Hello have You had the software update for the throttle to smooth it ? . I really do want one of these but I commute in heavy traffic and can imagine a snatchy throttle becoming annoying
Hello! No, it’s not currently in the UK… although I’ve gotten used to it now after 1,000 miles. I’d say it’s absolutely fine off road, or at higher speeds… stop start not so much, it sadly would become annoying (at least for me)
Hi thanks very much for replying. I did see a comment on the Internet from someone in UK that paid £30 to dealer to update the software it didn't specify where though. I wonder if a VPN would fool CFMOTO into letting a Brit download the whiplash delete update.
Ive no idea! I do know changing the front sprocket to a 15t helps… and probably taking the slack out of the throttle would also help. I’ve just not had the time yet, but there are fixes to improve it
the intervals and necessity for a CF moto certified Dealershit makes the warranty useless for me. I need to ride 100km just to my dealer and then pay a premium cause its a nice shop. Rather have it serviced by myself and loose the warranty. in the end its a 5k bike and not a 100k lucury car
I need to fully look into this, as always, it isn’t stated anywhere very clearly… so I think I’ll be giving them a call today to ask what the deal is. They do offer breakdown cover, replacement bike, accommodation etc as part of it year on year when serviced by CF Moto which is a nice touch. But I totally understand, and for only being an oil and filter change it’s an expensive service.
@@Papanchasonline in the end the engine just needs oil changes and filter changes. thats about it. rest of the bike seems reliable so far. so im going to risk it with not going to the certified dealer and do services on my own or a nearby hobby mechanic who is just 60$/h instead of 120$ a hour (our prices are insane)
I can’t seeing it being a problem until the big service… although it’s all computerised that’s the issue. So unless you’ve got the hardware to update the servicing - I think I’ll be biting the billet at least for a while.
@@Papanchasonline with hardware to update the servicing, you mean just reseting the service timer in the bike right?
Mi like desde España 🇪🇦🇪🇦, la reprogramación ya❤
Gracias amigo!
@Papanchasonline ya me he suscrito
Good luck for your film work in Spain. You’ll be back before you know it. Will be great if you do get to the ABR next year. I’ve got my tickets and there’s hopefully a group of us that went on the tour to France back in August, also going and meeting up. Roll on the Spring and some decent riding conditions again!
I most definitely plan to be there mate, it’s just affording it at the moment… there is ALWAYS something, and given it’s Christmas, it’s just a very expensive time of year as well all know. Be great to meet there - enjoy the NEC tomorrow, look forward to hearing how it is
@ I’ll be entering the competition when I visit the ABR stand, if I win, then the tickets are yours! I’ve noticed from previous years as it gets closer to the event there are always people selling tickets who for whatever reason aren’t able to go, so you don’t really need to rush out to find the cash for them right now.
Thank you mate! I’ll be there either way, be great to meet you
I’m genuinely intrigued and grudgingly impressed by this latest generation of Chinese bikes. As an all year rider, 3,000 mile service intervals would have me going to the dealers about three times a year during the warranty. I’ll stick with Mr Honda’s products for now but I’ll reluctantly tip my hat at CF Moto!
Likewise - I must of ridden over 15,000 miles this year, so I’d of been 5 times already… BUT I’m going to do some digging tomorrow, and see what the deal actually is with this Warranty. Can’t beat a trust Honda though!
Chinese junk youll see
Somehow I feel this bike wont be... but we shall see. No bad reports thus far.
I’ve done the software upgrade when I did the 1000 kms service, upgrade to the 15th tooth front sprocket and a performance air filter, jerkiness is 80% better! Greetings from Portugal
Hey Ricardo, thanks for coming by dude! The air filter is a new one, I will most definitely keep this in mind moving forward. Hope you are enjoying the bike out there in Portugal!
The subframes just need the drain holes drilling and then some cavity wax spraying inside and they won’t rust for many years. I’ve just got a set of Mitas Adventure Trail XT+ tyres (140/80-18 rear), they have fantastic reviews.
Thanks Chris, I have already had em drilled and filled. Will see how hey hold up, thanks for the tips though, really appreciated. The tyres I will be sure to check out, at the moment I am going as budget friendly as possible, hence the ones in the video. Ill go take a look at the Mitas later this eve
Mi like desde España 🇪🇦🇪🇦, yo los he tapado por arriba y el agujero. Cuanto HP tendra con el mapeo nuevo? Se queda un poco corta mapeo y escape unos 52cv
I’m not totally sure!
Giday, in regard to the exhaust, get some black exhaust paint, clean then paint, I did and have no issues at all now, dry just washes off and no discoloration, the sub frame just spray with ur anti rust inside, then u can then weld the open ends closed. I love my Cf mt450cc, best bikeive ever owned. Thanks for sharing 🤙💯
Thanks for this tip mate - it may well come to that over here given that it's winter! It's finding the time to do it when Im not riding, this is my main catch at the moment.
Didn't find the tyre specs in the description but it looks like 140/80-18 on the rear? I'm assuming the total outer radius was too large but not too wide. Is that correct?
Hey mate, all correct. I think you can go slightly bigger but it's a push. Ill find the paperwork and get the specs added as soon as I can - thank you for the heads up!
Remember, several weeks ago, you almost was baked in southern Europe. How fast the change is.
So good to hear from you Stefan. I literally had this same thought a few days ago... you really feel the seasons when you have a bike eh!
Extremely rare for me to comment on youtube. Followed all your stuff. Really great to see your realistic, honest, heart on sleeve ventures. Very entertaining. I sympathise with you on how much insurance you have to pay at your age. Your enthusiasm for bikes is refreshing though and I hope it rubs off on other young riders. I was shocked at the NEC Motorcycle Live to notice that 90% of people were 50yr old plus males! I do worry for the future of motorcycling. Also great to see and hear your respect and consideration for others on green lanes. Keep up the good work.
Bryan, I am so grateful you stopped by to leave a comment here, when I said it makes my day, I really mean it... puts a smile on my face. The insurance is unfortunately just insane at the moment, but I did decide to get a brand new bike, so there we go - maybe a mistake on my part, although I am very happy. It is sad... unfortunately I think it's predominately the older generations that can actually afford it at the moment... Im not a new rider so I hate to think what a premium would be for someone just passing their test. It is a luxury. I feel extremely privileged every time I get out on the bike - keeping it is another story, sometimes that feels like an uphill battle in itself. Thanks mate - as I said, made my day.
Thanks from the U.S. The bike should be here soon. Do you know where the water is getting into the frame? Another item is how a manual throttle cable can be controlled by mapping?
Very exciting! Top of the subframe, it has holes on each side - and I believe it's more of a fuelling issue than the throttle itself, thats where the mapping comes in!
en sectores de mucho lodo con esos neumaticos todas las motos presentarian limites , el video muy bueno ! salud
Very! Thanks amigo!
Is the tower stock or add on?? Take it tyres are 21-18 set up??
Stock, it’s fine… little flimsy but does the job! Correct on the tyres
Lot of vibrations on the front an HOW QUIET!!! All sounds smooth great vid, keep um commin🙏🙏👍👍🇬🇧🇬🇧🏍️🏍️
There’s a ton on the screen, predominantly from the terrain, the bars and bike itself is solid in terms of vibrations. Really smooth ride. Thanks Paul!
The limit is its quality, plenty already broken ....
Really? Could you send some reports?
Great vid Jacob. I got remember getting a little stuck there about 10 years ago on an 1150GS on metzeler tourance tyres, out with the ABR crowd. Thankfully a few people to push then, so I didn't stay stuck. I later changed tyres and it made such a difference.
What a beast of a bike to take up this hill - people can argue the 450 isn't a bike for this kind of work, yet you take a 1150 up there... a bike is what you make it. I think changing the tyres would make all the difference. Look forward to riding with you mate.
Pirelli Scorpion Rally tyres aren't for mud or sand. They're good for touring. It's an 80:20 tyre. You need 50:50 for this type of riding. Anyway thanks for the video and well done.
These aren't Pirelli - they look like Pirelli - but they are an own brand version. Looking at 50/50 as soon as I can afford it! Thanks amigo!
Be sure to upgrade the skid plate to thicker one if you don't want to risk having the crank case breaking
Thats first on my agenda bar the tyres... although keeping my eyes peeled on the sub frame!
Let's talk, fellow riders, because I need your help with a dilemma. I currently own '04 CRF 450r, and I've been learning to wrench on it, the engine is healthy, and I changed a few stuff to make it run "like new" but the main issue for me is the running costs when it eventually needs an engine rebuild, it costs 1000+- euros. I have a couple of smaller mountains around me with wide roads where I can open her up, I only ride on weekends and I would love to put a bike on a trailer and go explore other mountains in Serbia. 450mt is 6k, I can sell Honda and pay 3k as a down payment, but my main concern is the weight because it would be like 70kg+ heavier, I also looked at Sherco 300 2stroke but it's 8.8k for last year's model and 9.9 for a 25 model. I know that this little ADV bike is awesome, people love it for a reason, and we have great dealers in Serbia, 4 years of warranty on MT is a great deal, BUT would it suit me on my mountain concerning adventure (not technical enduro riding, more like trails, wide open mountain terrains). I wrote this because the new bike is a new bike, has longer service intervals, and the cost of maintaining any bike compared to an MX bike is cheaper by a landslide. Thanks if you read my comment, and I'm thankful in advance for your suggestions, opinions, etc. Cheers from Serbia ✌
Hey man... I get your point with service intervals... rebuilds etc on the CRF. Totally valid. Although another 1,000 for a total rebuild is still less than buying the MT. The weight is a thing, but once you are moving it feels as light as anything. I come from an MX background, and can confirm that it's nowhere near as light to wrench around or drag about if you need to. But I actually really enjoy the challenge of the extra weight. For less technical trails, you will have an awesome time with this bike. If it gets more technical, just chuck on some more aggressive tyres, it will still manage just fine. What I would also say is that you could get something older and cheaper that will also do the job, if cost is in the question, the CF isn't the only option.
@@Papanchasonline Thanks for the reply mate. I'm 186 tall and 100kg, I have been into powerlifting for years, so handling the heavier bike it not a problem if I have to pick it up, etc. It's just the mental thing, wilding the 70+ kg bike without taking it for a proper test ride for what I would use it mostly is like unknown territory for me haha Financing an MT would not be a problem, but since I'm getting married next year, I'm kind of working on a budget 😅 I would chuck on some enduro tires and change the sprockets because It would not be ridden on the road. I don't know. I'm going to let it simmer a bit during the winter; maybe I'll find something that suits me. Cheers,
Lovely area. Slippery with mud and leaves! And lots of walkers. It is a rarity to come upon walkers in my area (Central Vic.). I still got my MT 450 stock tires. I'll use them over the next 6 months (Our last bit of spring, summer, early autumn, and then look to upgrade! Great video. Love the water crossings!
It is beautiful. I would love to come out your way and experience the terrain out there, must be blazing weather right noe! Very jealous... we have snow here this morning. Thank you amigo! Im going to come check out the channel at some point today.
Well done
Great video. I have the 450MT as well. (I'm an older rider) A very good effort to establish the parameters of the bike. Thanks for putting the video up for us. A few points from Australia if I may, and these are just my opinions and perspective. * CFMoto say that the 'T' in MT stands for Tourer. Multi Tourer to be precise. * If through the slushy lanes is the riding you want to do all the time then a more dedicated bike might be appropriate for that. The MT is a bit top heavy when going very slow, as you (and I) have discovered. I noticed the much lighter 250 trail bike was easier to handle in those conditions (because it was designed for it). * The MT doesn't have a dedicated 'dirt bike' architecture but incorporates some dirt bike features. More of a friendlier Tenere, Vstrom or Africa Twin. As many people have noted. And at a fraction of the price. * The fact that people are ripping the MT through really hard stuff and it is handling it so well is a credit to the designers I think. But, in my opinion, it is a mistake to think of the MT as a 'dirt bike'. * Here in Oz we often have to ride hundreds of kilometres on highways and motorways to get to the back farm roads and tracks. This is where the 'MT' lives up to it's title - Multi-Tourer. Here in OZ the dirt-blatters who want to rip up the bush for the riding thrills will often trailer their duel-sports to the destination. * I bought my MT because I want to use it to explore, and it's multi-functionality is very good. It has tons of power, stability and comfort for the motorway, Not the level of an Africa Twin maybe, but very good. It is a delight when ambling on country roads and gravel and practically rides itself at moderate speeds. Then, if I encounter a gnarly section it can handle it. The limitation is me. * It is even pretty good on the tarmac twisties. And this is where tyre choice needs a thoughtful approach. Knobblies would help a lot in the mud and sand. But, might they be problematic on the road ? Just asking the question. In summary: I think your video has highlighted the question of bike selection. Ideally, having a stable of two bikes would be ideal. A lightweight duel-sport for the lanes, and a bigger more comfortable bike for all-purpose riding. If a rider can only afford one bike then the MT is a wonderful choice. But I would suggest that older riders in particular need to factor in the limits (especially weight) that you discovered in those conditions. There is no doubt the bike can handle it, but can the rider do so safely? Finding personal boundaries is a life skill, in my opinion. Cheers
Hello, love these comments and thank you for stopping by with them - they are all really valid and thoughtful refections. I will attempt to write a response half as articulate! I agree with much of it and to answer your question - I cannot afford two bikes (this would be the dream and ideal) but in all honesty, with the state of insurance premiums over here, even the one bike is hard for me to keep down at the moment. It's the main reason Ive not ridden the past few years... it's become quite a luxury. Trail bikes with a van or trailer would be IDEAL. But then thats a 'fun' bike, plus another vehicle to transport said bike which is way beyond my financial reach as a creative freelancer. On the flip side, having a trail bike as a dedicated bike just wouldn't work for tours or two up travel which is something I require and do a lot of. Another factor in this is keeping the bike safe - a small trail bike would require more than what I currently have available to me. More aggressive tyres would absolutely mess with the road handling, but it's not an issue for me... If I wanted to have more fun on the roads I'd of kept the interceptor. This is a nice go between! Older riders should absolutely factor in limitations as should any rider - although I would argue that I would not have attempted that hill alone on that bike with those tyres on (even as a 31 year old) with the gate where it was. It's also open to the public, so you have to be respectful and cautious to other users of the route - blazing up it with full momentum wouldn't have been an option. If I was alone, I would have turned back before attempting it. To summarise, I grew up doing MX and riding dirt bikes... and they would absolutely be the best choice for trails I 100% agree - but I need something that can do it all and the MT is great for this. Really appreciate you stopping by with this, it's really thorough and I'm sorry Ive not been able to expand fully on all of it, I hope it is somewhat of a clear response!
@@Papanchasonline I empathise. Making effective choices with limited resources is always a challenge, You are meeting it and sharing the experience with us which is brilliant for us. I hope this doesn't seem patronising, but your video and comment reveal you to be a thoughtful rider. I'm sure you are going to have a ball on the MT. Just a thought. It is a fresh release bike so parts are scarce, but keep an eye out for two spare wheels (maybe aftermarket Ali Express etc) and fit them with alternative tyres. Then and you can have a quick changeover front and back for whatever plans present themselves. Hit the lanes on a weekend, then set the bike for a grand tour the following week on 50/50s. Thats probably impractical, and would sound better over a pint, but it's fun to think about this stuff. Cheers
Really appreciate you coming by the vlog with these comments - I’ll do my best to keep em coming! The wheels is a great idea, first I need to save enough to get the tyres swapped out 💩
I just am crazy mad for this bike, its certainly performs brilliantly, in all terrain, and yeah they are stock tyres but hey, there not that bad, in fact the only riders that change them are the people that do most riding off rd. Awesome stuff, thanks for sharing 🇦🇺💯
SO AM I. Although it's probably pretty obvious from the vlogs... they do fine, it's been nice to put the MT to the test as stock before upgrading anything. Thank you for watching, really appreciate it.
Brilliant mate . That was very enjoyable to watch. The MT and you did really well on stock tyres. Can’t wait to eventually get out on some trails myself 👍
Thanks man - I am excited for you. Let us know when you've got it!
I’m waiting to take delivery of my 450MT. I was a bit on the fence as what to do about the standard tyres, as lots of people are saying they aren’t very good in wet or muddy conditions. After watching this video if the bike arrives and we are still in winter I’ll be putting something more aggressive on like the Michelin Anakee Wilds.
Hey Chris! Absolutely stick some on if you are riding off road in the winter, I would I have had some spare cash BUT it's quite nice to be able to put the bike to the test as stock before I start upgrading
Quick question! What tire pressure setup do you use? And for the suspension? Thanks!
Hello! The pressures I vary... today I dropped each down to 25 (which is still relatively hard) my only worry is the rims on the rocky terrain. Although the others all run around 15 on the trail bikes which is ideal if you actually want traction! The suspension Ive not bothered touching yet, I will once things get a little more technical bit its been left as the dealership set it up for the time being
That's super nice, it looks a very solid bike man. congratulations!
It is pretty damn solid! I will keep feeding back, but for now, I am super happy with it.
I think it's disappointing that the 2 main issues of frame and throttle have not been properly fixed still, issues have been around for a while now. Is your rear right indicator melted ?
@@esrider7765 I will check that when I take the bike out tomorrow, thanks for the heads up. Small things but agreed, easily fixed yet no real solutions yet
Himi or mt? Im thinking hard and dont which one is better?
That is the big question right now! I think you’ve really got to give them both a go.
@Papanchasonline i tried both. Re is sinple and preety bike mt Looking more like t7 and have this lovely sound . Why did you chose mt instead of re?
@ I never got to test the MT - so buying it was a gamble. Personally I find it more aggressive, and I like that… more so when off road. I prefer the shape and the position I am in when riding… it really boils down to that. The Himy felt stylish, felt comfy, and felt lovely to ride, but I wasn’t sold on it. It just felt a bit softer and top heavy. That’s the best way I can describe my thoughts when choosing between the two.
@@Papanchasonline is what im thinking. Thank you. Royal have got this prrety sinple look what i love but position is better on mt.
We have 2 450mt in Poland. The throttle off idle is borderline cruminal. The lower tubes, spary in your favorite corrosion, preventing fluid and silicone, close the top of the tubes. The 15T is good mod, when u ride 14/15 back to back 15 is the winner. The 6th gear should have been much taller. It's a sweet bike otherwise.
Thank you for the pointers mate... I just hope the sub frame doesn't corrode too quickly over the winter months.
Thanks for the video. My MT coming next month. What type of quad lock mount did you use?
Congrats on the new bike! Here you are mate - www.infinitymotorcycles.com/product/quad-lock-360-bar-clamp-base/bar-clamp-small?gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAAD-gVdGv0hkVCL6iQ0qG3DB7lTNnm&gclid=CjwKCAiAxea5BhBeEiwAh4t5K_ZzHnYndRN0rZ2DFOZZ6BlpuvN_HN2NsuwXX-6T5WHC1HmrVlg_1RoCVFYQAvD_BwE It does shake about a fair amount. Could do with a better tower, but does the job!
The warranty part is a lie.. you do not need to have them done by dealerships. you need to keep the receipts for what you bought to do the service but it does not need to be done by them.. which in our cases truly only is oil changes.. you are allowed to do these yourself and keep the receipts for your oil and filters.
@@Dutch800s is this confirmed knowledge? If so that is great news as will be doing the future services myself, until the biggies.
@Papanchasonline I know that in most countries it's illegal to mandate you to a specific dealership. Some countries might tell you to at least use a mechanic but not which. In the US it's mostly about IF it happened. My dealership told me to just do it myself and keep receipts. For the "scheduled" oil changes I use factory preferred brand
As an independent mechanic, I've no idea were the main dealers get their servicing prices from. I charge less than half for the same.
That’s interesting to hear mate, thanks for sharing. The thing is, is that this kind of work is easily done from home… I need to do some digging into the servicing and warranty
