      @@jun8812 Pairing works on other Hobbywing ESCs but the motors may not work right. For instance when paired with the Verreal F1, the motors turn much slower than normal, and the trip meter and odometer don't show anything. Works fine when paired with Backfire G2S though, but no turbo.

      try to avoid police while riding your esk8 as much as possible. For riding any type of unlicenced motorised Vehikel you can expect fines of up to 5000 euros and your drivers License will be taken away.

    Almost 13 miles till remote started to vibrate: 215lbs weight with gear, +27C/81F, mixed Eco/Sport modes. Board charged up in 1hour 30mins after the ride. Specs say the battery can be charged in 2h30m; so, maybe there was still some capacity left for another 3-5 miles or so.
    I've got a question though - does the built-in BMS (battery management system) protect the battery from under-voltage/over-discharge? I hope it does since it is very important for Li-Ion.

  • @SleptOn

    Regarding the turbo button I’d like to see a hill climb test. Does it actually help vs any other hub motor board aka can it hang with belt drives

    • @gameflopvideos1504
      @gameflopvideos1504 6 років тому

      i dont know this for sure, but the use of a belt drive is worse on many things. for one, the weather. it limits use of a belt driven because the belts are very vulnerable to extreme cold and extreme hot. as well as water. the electric hub ones can be made water proof and has enough heat to dispose of any inner condensation that happens over time. but the belt ones do have more torque. only thing you gotta worry about is breaking a belt. the hubs dont need to worry about that any, if they break a bit, they will still run, they will just grind and back break a bit. if the original g2 can take a 25degree hill at 16-20mph, then the g2t will take it at less than that. based on there full speed capacity

    @Daniel Kwan Comment for the Backfire 1/5 battery thing - Mine was at 0.5 lights out of 4 on the original remote and I managed to get another 3 miles out of it because it would go back and forth between 0.5 and 1 light every half mile. Might be inaccurate readings from the Ranger entirely.

    @Daniel Kwan good video as usual. That winding reddish path looks so fun to ride on! How does this start up against the exway x1 as far as speed, acceleration/torque, carving, ride quality, and range go? I know your like both boards very much, but which would you choose of the 2?

    • @DanielKwan
      @DanielKwan  6 років тому +1

      In theory the Exway should be more suitable for high speeds (45° trucks, stiff deck). Pretty sure the Exway still has more torque but I’d like to compare them side by side. Ride quality on rough roads, G2T has 96mm wheels. G2T has much better range. My personal preference is Exway with a quick charger but I live in an area with good roads and lots of places to charge.

    • @DanielKwan
      @DanielKwan  5 років тому

      You can but you have to let go of the throttle first. Let go, hit turbo, get back on throttle.

  • @tigerduke1
    @tigerduke1 5 років тому

    At full throttle mode S the ESC consumed about 20A current. Means for a 10s2p battery, 10A each cell. At 10A discharging current the cells get hot enough to get the complete capacity out of them. So the reach will be identical indenpendently the outside temperature is 10°C or 30°C. You will only have less reach when the battery temperatur is down, but with 20A current in speed mode and 30A current in turbo mode, the battery temperature never will be under 30-40°C !!

      Turning radius about the same. Everything else you mentioned is much better on the G2T. I like the Ranger but its acceleration and braking are so slow. You seem to be running from cops like a criminal.. what'd you do man?haha
    My idea is to buy an extra samsung 30Q 6000 ah battery and get about 30 km ride (weight 80 kg) by swapping the first one when it dies with the extra one that I could carry in a backpackjust like you did on the ranger in your china tour with Max. So my question is : no trouble unscrewing the enclosure and get the battery out, but I wonder if it is possible to ride with the battery loose inside the enclosure so I can swap them every time I take a long ride?? meaning I wouldn't use the sticky tape on the back of the battery. Would it make some noise or feel like the battery is bouncing all around the case or something? D you have any recomendation about that? Would really appreciate an answer, anyone..
    PD : you haven't complained once about the cold in this one haha

      I haven’t opened up the G2T’s battery enclosure but I believe they now seal the battery in glue, like in the Ranger. So if you change battery, you would be changing the battery and enclosure together. (They sell those together.) 10 °C is much warmer than 7 ° for me haha..

      Good to know! You got more answers than anybody can ask questions to backfire. They really should give you a board of theirs for free man. Also I was kind of wondering why aren't there any cars on the road while you are filming? I mean it's Shangai right? traffic should be a bitch, I thought so anyway. I gotta say, between police and cold this place doesn't seem to suit you quite well haha keep it up Dani !

      @@amortieretro8392 Shanghai is quite large (it's an entire metropolitan area) and the farther you go from the city center, the more sparse it gets. I purposely went to a remote area that I frequently ride at because I thought there'd be no police. That's why there were hardly any cars in the video.

    • @cassius969
      @cassius969 5 років тому +1

      Really depends on the board. The battery is lithium ion so has to be replaced between 300 and 600 cycles depending on how much of a hit on capacity you are willing to take. If you apply something to protect against rust and waterproof it it should last quite a while.

    the original g2 from 2017 got up to 25mph with a 190lb man and a 30lb bag. i still use it and as long as the motors dont get wierd it still kicks up 25mph so the new turbo is terrible in comparison.

    Does the motors vibrate as much as the G2s motors?

    • @DanielKwan
      @DanielKwan  6 років тому +1

      Nope. And the truck axels go into the motors so in theory they should actually vibrate less than most hub motor boards.

    Wow, crazy laws you have to deal with regarding electric skateboards. In the US, it is not illegal, but some communities do ban skateboards in shopping areas and sidewalks in front of a business. Our biggest issue is many areas don't have bike lanes and you end up riding in the roadways with drivers that will not slow down or yield part of their lane to you.

    Hill climbing ability is soooo much more important than top speed. No one hooks along at full speed anyway. The website says 25% hill grade.... that’s belt drive torque... someone do a bloody hill climb test on it... 😳

    • @realEthanZou
      @realEthanZou 5 років тому +1

      There's a lane for cars, a lane for bikes and the sidewalk for pedestrians. None of these allows skateboards. Not even a non-electric one. It's because of outdated laws just like that in the UK.
