    1:22 As an Englishman, I've never heard it called 'The Train in the Drain', its always called 'The Tube'.

      Only the Waterloo and City was referred to as the drain.

    FWIW Marc Isambard Brunel was French I think. His more famous son, Isambard Kingdom Brunel, was British and it was he who finished that first tunnel - nearly drowning after a flood.

    The entire economy of SE Dorset & SW Hampshire would be improved by folks having an alternative rail system connecting the satellite towns & communities of Bournemouth & Poole yet i still find myself in the same traffic jams i experienced 44 years ago when travelling to Poole Tech.
    Unless it’s the very big cities in Britain, transportation isn’t any quicker or easier than 2 generations ago.
