It's not just that the view from the top was amazing: it was the first time people had seen the layout of Paris. Remember, this was before the airplane and most had never flown in the air. (A few had been in balloons.) It was a revelation to the visitors to see the entire design of the city laid out before them.

The origin of the iron of the Eiffel Tower Parisian since 1889, the Eiffel Tower, by its metal, comes from the Grand Est region, more precisely near Nancy in Lorraine! In 1887, Gustave Eiffel needed more than 7,000 tons of iron to make the centerpiece of the 1889 Universal Exhibition: he launched a call for tenders won by the Fould-Dupont forges of Pompey, in Meurthe-et-Moselle. The company of blast furnaces, forges and steelworks of Pompey supplied all the iron necessary for the construction of the Eiffel Tower and also took care of the puddling. Before being processed, the ore was directly extracted from local mines. Exactly 18,038 pieces of iron were produced by the Fould-Dupont forges for the Eiffel Tower. We can still see their "signature" plaque affixed to one of the pillars of the Tower today!

I'm not a fan of France, but of course, I have to appreciate this attainment. Never, I think I will go to France, but I also don't go to the USA. Some years ago, I was with my children in London and once in Ireland. In my youth, I often was in Poland, and in the CSSR, this should be enough. I think I stay in Germany, even though Germany isn't a country, where everything is good now. I think it's getting worse and worse.
Thanks for the interesting article.
What exactly is wrong in Germany?
If you have never been to France, let alone Paris. How can you say you're not a fan.
@@stevenliggins1623 i mean it political. Of course there are also nice areas and buildings.
Wielka rzecz! A czym teraz Francja może się pochwalić? Igrzyska olimpijskie do kitu! Odkąd trwa najazd islamu, niebezpieczny kraj 😮
Que documentário excelente! Parabéns! Viva Eiffel!
every piece of metal is produced in Romania!
And all your pickpockets live in London
@@billb7876 I piss on London, I live in Prague :)))))))))))))
Great documentary. Thank you.
Sensacional, simplesmente sensacional.
Great documentary!
The atomatic Translation for LOCK is a lock for a key.
BUT a Lock in the Panama-Canal is un écluse, ein Flussschleuse, een Sluis.
Eifel is undoubtedly the genius of all time. 👍👍👍👍👍👍
