Chef John is a man after my own heart! I use salt, pepper, garlic, and cayenne for the base of just about everything that I cook. Keep living loose and sprinkling that cayenne, brother!
I love Chef John! Every recipe I have used of his has always been a success! He is my "go to" for everyday and special occasion meals. Can't wait to try this recipe. Thank you Chef John!
I used my favorite sliced salami and diced slices of sundried tomatoes with creme cheese and white, pink, green & black pepper blend. It was an amazing combination and everyone loved it. I used to make this by just slicing a deep cut in the porkloin but this way of pounding it out is so much better! Thanks for the amazing tip!
I get a notification that Chef John uploads a new video, I run across my room and dive nose first onto my laptop, hoping I land on the click play key, which I did, thankfully. I guess you can say I gave it the ol' NOSE-A NOSE-A... *tumbleweed blows by very slowly*
Made this tonight....only exception was I used a little leftover cranberry sauce in the glaze ....it was an unbelievable success...chef John you’re amazing...I’ve made one of your recipes every night since Friday...and it’s wed night now... started off with your fish and chips....best ever and even ventured to make the beer braised lamb shanks...but opted for red wine instead....I’m thoroughly addicted to your channel...thank god I’m on holidays right now... dinner will be back to boring next week...please do some busy night dinners...in under 45 min start to finish...😍👍 I’ll keep watching no matter what ... you’re so appreciated ❤️
I tried this yesterday...I just happened to be thawing two pork tenderloins, and I am glad I searched your site for it. Your recipes are always spot on, and relatively simple--even though there are no "measurements" or ingredient list. I have always found your directions make the food come out perfectly (and delicious). I did one identical to how you did it in the video, and the 2nd one I added diced celery and onion ( we love the crispy crunch it provides). Perfect, perfect, PERFECT!
I made this tonight for my family. It was my daughter's birthday and we were having an "Iron Chef' potluck where everyone made something with the theme ingredient of 'cranberries'. I didn't even need to visit your website for it. It was as easy as you promised and as amazingly fancy as shown. Good grief that was a great dinner!! Thank you so much!
I bought a pork tenderloin yesterday and will fix this tomorrow night with yams and a nice Romanesco from my neighbor. I have all ingredients on hand. I always roast walnuts, pecans, almonds, & cashews for flavor. Will post photo on Twitter. Thank you, Chef. I’m a day late fixing this but it’s in the oven right now. 😊👍🏼
Chef you've been responsible for my best meals, period. Your roasted butternut squash soup, I can make from memory now. Your celery root puree , beats mashed potatoes hands down. And, let's not forget your baked stuffed brie. My wife loves it when I tell her "honey, we are going to have another Chef John recipe tonight."
Didn't watch but I'm in a bad mood so I decided to tell you that bacon wrapping pork is the most inventive thing I've ever heard of. I wish other people would wrap bacon around pork. Very innovative!
I tried this on Friday night and it was absolutely amazing!!!! The pork was so delicious and tender. YUM! I used leftover turkey stock and cranberry sauce for the pan sauce (Canadian Thanksgiving was last weekend) and it paired beautifully. Will definitely be adding this dish to my roaster.
I made two of these for Thanksgiving this year, just to change things up. It was delicious. Everyone agreed. (Even for the one I spaced out on and forgot the breadcrumbs in). Thanks for the great ideas!
Made this for dinner tonight. Wow, it was just as easy as he said it would be and so delicious. I will definitely be making this again. Definitely a keeper. Thanks chef john
I LOVE YOUR RECIPES AND HUMOR! But what I love MORE is NO POLITICS! Just food, laughs and more food! Thank you Chef John for the 8 minutes of delicious retreat!
....a quick note/ update from my last post. This REALLY is a keeper!! As much as I loved it for dinner last night....If there is anything leftover, It 's fabulous sliced very thin after spending the night in the fridge....perfect as a party platter along with mustard and pickles, fresh crudites etc. Keeping this idea stashed for holiday festivities...... .
Made this yesterday. Everything went wrong along the way (could not find a smacking implement, didn't butterfly quite enough, breadcrumbs packet turned out to be empty and merely decorative) and yet it was still delicious (if a little shaggy) at the end of the day. So thank you for sharing a recipe that still turns out well when you only have about 9 minutes of (rather incompetent) prep before you have to head off.
Chef John thank you for that inspiring video. I did not have a few of your ingredients so I put some together of what I did have, started with S&P, did the mustard rub an all i had was panko bread crumbs ( thanks for that tip to keep the juices in the pork!)A mix of spices that I had that smelled good together. For the gravy applejuice for the wine, dijon mustard as you did and S&P and blasmic vinegar and a drizzle of a balsamic glaze on the pork before bacon wrapped and after cooked. Calling it Spiced Pork with Apple Balsmic Gravy. Will have to let you know how it tastes once it is done.
Dang Chef John! Your description of this dish sounded at least as colorful and delicious as I’m sure the actual dish tastes! You are truly a food poet with both the pan and the pen!
Thanks Chef John. I made this for dinner last night and it was wonderful. Served it up with mashed potatoes and a simple red cabbage and tomato salad ..A wonderful Autumn meal. 🍁🍂🌞
Great recipe Chef John! This is one of the best fall/winter's night meals :) When it's cold outside and the fire is lit and the smell of this cooking in the oven ... it's what winter is all about. I'm making this for a family gathering tonight and I can't wait. Bacon, cranberries, toasted walnuts and pork is fall cosiness on a plate 🌰☃️🌲🍁

Wow. This one is an absolute CJ classic. Delicious food, liberally seasoned with our favourite chef's dry wit. "You are the Björk, of your mummified pork" is contending for best of chef's corny rhymes, not to mention other tid bits like the video tip toward the end. Oh and btw, I WILL be making this recipe tonight. One thing they get right over here in Germany is their pork, so this is one inspiring addition to the Chef John oeuvre .

Replicated it today and posted the photo on Instagram. Truly delicious and very pretty looking too. Thanks for another great recipe. You are awesome.
Great recipe ❤️
Only Chef John is honest and humble enough to say "you gotta use cheap bacon" in his video! 👍
This guy has one of the best personalities on youtube.
A Classic San Francisco Man.
You can block the frame with your large hairy lovely hands anytime Chef John. There is never not a good time.
I agree!
Haha when Chef John said a "simple sauce" I was like "wow that is simple" because I thought he was first pouring in water instead of wine.
Lol same
Me too!
Plot twist... It was water that he turned into wine.

My favorite cut of pork! Chef John is more prolific than any other chefs I’ve heard of! Keep them coming!
Right, but to be honest, my favorite cut of pork is the one on my fork!! ; )

I have to try this, it looks great. I've done wild rice and cranberries, but never walnuts. The sauce looks yummy, too.
Okay, I have a date with this recipe late in November.
loved your battletech novels!
Thank you, neuroflare

The best.....
Hey, I tried that Beef and Guiness Stew, it came out great. Made some Bombay Potato Home Fries with it as well!
Yummy !!! That's all I can say .........

I bet it tastes just as good! 👏👏
Simply delicious.
OMG Chef John does it again!
I don’t eat pork, yet i find myself watching all these videos! I can’t miss an episode of chef john in the kitchen ❤️
Gonna cook this one soon!
Looks scrumptious. Can't wait to try it.

"You are the bjork of your mummified pork." Chef John never disappoints.
Right, and let's all "put a fork in that pork"!! :D
I love walnuts and cranberries together!
This looks utterly fantastic
Bravo! I’m sure to try this. You make it look sooo easy!
I think Johns put my Christmas main out 2 months early! Thank you!
Intresting

Definitely a keeper. Thanks chef john
I wonder how it'd turn out if you switch out the cranberries for apple or pear chunks and make the sauce with apple cider vinegar
I think apples would be awesome in this
Dried apples or pears would work for sure. Fresh ones are going to be too watery. Apple cider vinegar with a slightly diluted bourbon. Mmmmm.
@@fermentedbadger5717 maybe if you pre-cooked them down and strained the juices.... I'd go for dried apricots if you don't like the tang of cranberry~
That's just you cookin
Cooking is experimentation. After all, you are the Björk of your Bacon-Wrapped Pork.
Great recipe it looks delicious!!!

In my neck of the woods, Corn King bacon is cheap and onion paper thin.
Timmy?
Oh my gosh...i have a fresh tenderloin and i have a bag of cranberries just waiting to be introduced. Thank you so much for being so awesome.
Oh it looks absolutely wonderful!
I would *die* for Chef Jon from the Food Wishes test kitchen
Can't wait to try this, but I think I'm gonna add some diced celery for the consistency.
Dang Chef John! Your description of this dish sounded at least as colorful and delicious as I’m sure the actual dish tastes! You are truly a food poet with both the pan and the pen!
Perfect for thanksgiving

Bacon! Greetings from Ontario county NY brother!
Love the bacon for that double porked-in goodness! You'd be... nuts to leave that out! 😉
This is something i will definitely make.
You can also stuff it with goat cheese and sun dried tomatoes jarred in olive oil. Absolutely awesome!
a björk reference... i love you chef john
Pork wrapped with bacon can be yours for the 'takin!' (YUM)
This is a real winner. Adding to the family supper repertoire.
Looks so good! I'd add some honey or brown sugar in the sauce.
Incredible recipe

Very close to one of my favorite fall recipes, only real difference is I add a little crumble of good blue cheese for a little funk.
Ooh, adding it to the list!
Just the *name* of this dish has me drooling.
Great meat dish for the Holidays coming up. Thanks.
