- Just 20 minutes away from the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, and easily accessible from downtown Seattle and other neighboring cities, Tacoma is a city on the rise.
This was really an unhelpful video when trying to find things to do while visiting Tacoma.
We had a few days in Tacoma a coupla years ago. Point Defiance was a pleasant enough time, Cheney Stadium was cool in a retro sort of way, and we hired a car and drove to Mount Ranier - pretty breathtaking.

Ruston Point is awesome I recommend.
I've lived in Tacoma for over 40 years. It is not nearly as great as this video makes it out to be. I'm not saying it is bad, especially in comparison to how it was back in the early 1990's, especially up in Hill Top. However, all of the things presented here come at a high cost. Also, if you want world class museums, dining, and shopping, you best expect to pay world class prices, none of this stuff is cheap. Pretty video, just not completely honest.

Back in the 1990s Tacoma was a ghetto. The city has gotten better since then.

been here 20 years tacoma is ok. the city (downtown area) has always seemed so dead to me im moving to vegas hopefully in the next year
truth betold ya this place is ok. im moving to Reno next or maybe spanaway.. or maybe a suburb of detroit. me and my fiancee are checking out some pretty cool looking trailerparks and squat houses online now at the beautiful tacoma public library and a bum is sitting next to us watching porn and rubbing his genitals with a dirty sock.
Moving to vegas? I feel so sorry for you, i lived in vegas for 3 years, wouldn’t recommend that city to anyone is this country

2. a bunch of homeless tweekers asking you for a cigarette
3. a light rail that goes several blocks with bums passed out on it
4. drunk people with nothing to do after work
5. possibly some wanna be ironic seattle hipsters that spend most of their time face book stalking other people's girlfriends.
6. an argument with a stranger on the street that ends with the deranged person pulling a rusty knife on you and stealing your bus fare.
7. a bunch of urban revitalization that consists mostly of some cheap construction condos in the place of a former historic building that had recently been torn down by an out of state contractor.
8. over priced rent in a ghetto
9. low paying jobs complete with sycophantic totalitarian bosses on a sad powertrip.
10. a nice walk on the beach.. consisting of stepping over rusty heroin syringes, decayed body parts, toxic waste and oil spillage.
Still better than Seattle.
