When I was 16 I went to school dressed as Buckethead for Halloween. Yellow Rain suit, KFC bucket, FUNERAL sign, long hair wig and kabuki mask. And I wore my guitar the whole day and was just jamming everywhere I went. Had one of those mini battery powered marshall stacks in my back pocket haha. Even during class the teachers kept telling me to knock it off and I would maybe give them 5 or 10 minutes and then start noodling again haha... I got a whole lot of "what the fuck are you supposed to be??" But that just made it that much cooler, to me at least. Oh and I'm 36 now... so that was 20 years ago! haha. It's been a while since I thought about that, but right now I'm shit-eating-grinning like a fool remembering it...

that's a great point Roland. If anyone was to look carefully, the real reason you can't see anyone dancing is that the place is so packed that there's no room dance if they wanted to. my take is that this was a very appreciative crowd in awe of this great guitar player.

Bbloody shit. Buck is unique, incredible playing, bizarre and absolute complete Guitar Hero. I would die 4 him without thinking a second about. But u know, Music is Not a competition and in Art there are no number ones or goats. Art is free from that shit
I'm 56 years old and in my opinion jimmy page and jimmy Hendrix are the best guitar players of all time. But about 2 months ago l ran across this guy name Buckethead. and I have to say WOW !!. I'd have to rank him in my top 5. His Style is so different and his blues playing is F.N. COOL.
Your comparing them as they play today as opposed to what Jimi played some 48 years ago to today's incredible new players who were not even born when both Jimi & Page were at their height. If Jimi were alive today as great as he was then what do think he would be like now. You just can't make those comparisons to old & new as way to many years have past. Rock then was not like it is these days with the Tech side being up front. What we hear today came from the players of years ago. I love all these new players as well but you just can't make comparisons over the span of time that has transpired. Also remember that it was the old guy's that broke down the barriers were artists had to follow what the record companies wanted & what the artists wanted, they gave musicians back the choice to play the music they wanted & control of how they wanted it go. There is no contest for sure as the years have put a huge gap in between equipment & playing styles.Let's not forget that all these players like Joe & John & Danial site Jimi & Jimmy even Buckethead sites them as major influences & that surely means a lot
ahh Stevie ray Vaughan, Best guitar players are not really in a ordered list but a class. Its Subjective, however its simply objective to give reasons why they are in the highest level class of players
Someone with such astonishing beyond-world-class talent, emotion, musicality and creativity willing to play a small venue. And personally handing gifts to people?! This is a person who loves music and loves his fans. No ego, no self-aggrandizement here. This is so pure. Love, admiration and respect for Mr. Buckethead.
Dont ever judge a person from the look!!!!! I learned my lesson the hard way of not looking into the right way!!! I'm speechless after watching for the first time so called mr buckethead !!! Now he is one of my favourites!!! Lesson learned and glad i did
I first saw buckethead at bonnaroo and believe the KFC logo was still on the bucket so I was thinking this is no gimmick and keeping anonymity seems so important for retaining sanity - to most. He just beat Steve vai for the most notes and I think it was 56,587,345 to 55,682,301. I love them both. Took me to another level of insanity.
I've seen Buckethead live a total of 4 times. Ranging from 2005 to 2018 with that last show in Buffalo New York. He is without a doubt the best guitarist of all time. Standing 5 feet away from him while he's blazing along is something everyone should experience.
i had put this on and fallen asleep because well good music stops insomnia, woke up to hear one of the most amazing versions of soothsayer ever. this was fantastic to see!
This was the first time I had really listened to Buckethead, and I've gotta say... I am astounded by the amazing creativity and ultimate progressive material. What a great showman and an incredibly talented artist! I have listened to this whole performance at least 15 times and I'm not bored. Very impressive...
Non-musician here ...how does he remember all his songs? It's amazing to me, among MANY other things with his performance, that he can flow so seamlessly from one track to another. Just amazing
He improvises a lot of it. I doubt he remebers all 9f his 400 albums note for note. He plays his songs a litlle bit differently every time. It's kinda cool
Basically like others have said it's the improvisation skill. This also goes into remembering his riffs. All he has to do is find his root note & then start piecing together the intervals from memory
I've got to say, the quality of the sound is amazing and the picture so vivid, it looks like Bucket is right in my living room. Almost 3D. Totally awesome. Spanks!
Omg, that show was fucking amazing! It's my first bucketheads show I watched and oh god it was awesome! I just watched it at night, in the dark and in Buckethead's birthday! It was so awesome, I knew most of the songs, but even there I discovered 3 new songs I liked and playing was awesome, as well as quality of the video and sound, good job who filmed this and thanks Buckethead for amazing performance! Also, it's his birthday today! I wish him that he creates as much beatifull and amazing music as he can, I wish him good health and so his heart problem will become better and personally I wish to see him one day! He is my biggest inspiration, not just for guitar and music, but life overall. He is passionate, he is awesome person and just great guy overall, he doesnt care about fame or money, he cares only about what he likes and puts all effort into it. Listening to his songs they always make my soul calm down or face melt down and I dont know what I would do without him. Thank you Buckethead for all your music and work put into it, I love you and I hope you spend that day great, happy birthday Buckethead :)!!! ❤❤❤ Maybe once I will see you in real life...
Holy fuck, I’ve never seen him play a live set from start, (I will finish it), but he’s doing his show with the pedals and moves!! It’s not the guitar but the whole guy!! Makes me feel good to see someone doing something like this cuz I don’t see it a ton. Amazing!
This is simply magical. Ive never heard anyone playing pentatonic scale before like this. This man is special and definitely sets himself apart from all the other pentatonic players. We are all very lucky to see and hear perfection on stage.
He is playing way more than pentatonic scales here....why would you class him as a "pentatonic player"? Sounds like you're either trying to belittle him or make your self sound knowledgable.
I am 51 , I started playing guitar at 13 , I'll never in my life time be anywhere NEAR this good ,this man is a genius ! And I have to say I'm very proud he didn't stick around g n R too long
I have seen this man more times than I have fingers and toes! It is always a treat to watch him perform! He has to be getting up there in age. Has to be in his 50's, but his older shows used to be pretty wild. Constantly dancing like a robot, gifting toys to the crowd and accepting toys. Sometimes he would have a live drummer and those shows were cool. This seemed so chill and laid back, but he was on point here.
dude my first concert i saw him at the richmond national a day before his birthday he was amazing i was front row it was such a life changing expirence when you see someone that great that close and really FEEL the music they made its really a big influence on my life i play guitar as well and im getting extremely good and only been playing about 2 years and this man inspired my life for the better with guitar with everything. I keep coming back to this performance. It’s got everything and I wish I could see him live. Buckethead is in a league of his own. His music is special in many ways. So many great guitarists and musicians. Dude has his own uniqueness and it’s crazy that Paul Gilbert was his teacher too
I have loved guitar most of my life growing up in a musical family. Buckethead has accelerated my love for guitar 10 fold. Thanks man for what you do. Pure inspiration!
Just wow, so creative. Extremely inspiring, this music is complex and emotionally charged. Humerous and scary at the same time. This is artistic expression at a high level. Bucket Head, you are strange and interesting, creating soundscapes that excite. Amazing work.
You're like most sheep. Need to hear lyrics. Need to hear someone telling you what to think, because you're unable to hear the words of the instrument. Typical.

lucky you... I was at guns n´ roses concert in rock in rio 2001, buckethead was playing with them, and stole the scenne as we say here in brazil, great guitarrist, great artist.... one of a kind, really.
There's every other guitar player...then there's Buckethead in a class all his own.
Bbloody shit. Buck is unique, incredible playing, bizarre and absolute complete Guitar Hero. I would die 4 him without thinking a second about. But u know, Music is Not a competition and in Art there are no number ones or goats. Art is free from that shit
He just shredded the Universe!
His music it's my life style. I'm sure that in the future he will be recognized as the greatest musician of the 21st century!
Me too
B. Is certainly up there with the late Allan Holdsworth!
Communication Through The Stars is a masterpiece alone. I'm certain that piece will be considered one in 100 years similar to works of Mozart
You know it's a Buckethead show when everyone just watches in awe..... shock and awe.... love it!
All standing in 🫢 amazement... WOW! 😲
Buckethead never ceases to impress me ... especially the melodic material. What a great player ...
COOL.
daniel wilson John Petrucci & Joe Satriani would destroy Paige & Hendrix. I like both but no contest
Jimi Hendrix wrecked guitarists in their own house...He made the best players of his time look like beginners.
ahh Stevie ray Vaughan, Best guitar players are not really in a ordered list but a class. Its Subjective, however its simply objective to give reasons why they are in the highest level class of players
Look up Dimebag Darrell and Chuck Schuldiner, Paul Gilbert, yingwe malmestein, Jason Becker
Love this guy. A santa with a bucket. Humble, super kind and an incredible player. A legend...
Easily the best Buckethead video and audio, ever. Thank you so much for sharing this masterpiece.
UA-cam/coolhandchrisrocks
I was there front row!
Nah that show in Colorado here on YT is better audio
definitely my favourite guitarist of all time 🤟
Someone with such astonishing beyond-world-class talent, emotion, musicality and creativity willing to play a small venue. And personally handing gifts to people?! This is a person who loves music and loves his fans. No ego, no self-aggrandizement here. This is so pure. Love, admiration and respect for Mr. Buckethead.
THE CROWD IS STUNNED BY HIS GREATNESS ,,,!!!! THEY ARENT MOVING THEIR SO MESMERIZED!!!!!!!!
Thats the literal definition of a Face Melter and BucketHead is one of the very few alive that can do that to almost anyone.
They're - as in - they are
They’re.
he was really into what he was doing. you can tell from his facial expression.
GREATEST GUITAR PLAYER EVER! 🤘. Cannot thank you enough BUCKETHEAD. Sick set wish I could reverse time and actually attended this! On Fire man.
Dont ever judge a person from the look!!!!! I learned my lesson the hard way of not looking into the right way!!! I'm speechless after watching for the first time so called mr buckethead !!! Now he is one of my favourites!!! Lesson learned and glad i did
except when their look is part of their gimmick
@@bennoakes2477 so what? What’s wrong with a gimmick?
I first saw buckethead at bonnaroo and believe the KFC logo was still on the bucket so I was thinking this is no gimmick and keeping anonymity seems so important for retaining sanity - to most. He just beat Steve vai for the most notes and I think it was 56,587,345 to 55,682,301. I love them both. Took me to another level of insanity.
@@bennoakes2477I personally dig when artists hide their identity, it adds some mystique around them. Another example is MF Doom
this is different level of classical music.
I've seen Buckethead live a total of 4 times. Ranging from 2005 to 2018 with that last show in Buffalo New York. He is without a doubt the best guitarist of all time. Standing 5 feet away from him while he's blazing along is something everyone should experience.
Thank you for playing this music, Buckethead.
Thank you Chris for uploading this in HD! You’re epic man! You did a great service to us fans!
Yep that's HD for most of us and 4K for UA-cam. Glad to hear that you're diggin' it.
Cannot wait to see him here in a few months
i had put this on and fallen asleep because well good music stops insomnia, woke up to hear one of the most amazing versions of soothsayer ever. this was fantastic to see!
This rocks! I have seen Buckethead live more than any artist.... and that is saying a lot.
T Moody though I don't think artists have a lot of time to go to eachother's concerts.
… one thing it is saying that you are probably residing in California. :)
The best guitarist ever!
He knows all musical genres with a very refined technique. Great!
What an awesome show!...I'm the guy at the end who crawled on stage and grabbed the pick he dropped during Soothsayer. He's incredible!
Can't blame you man!
Legend in your own right!
Muscle memory + more than 30 years of experience + lots of practice.
Basically like others have said it's the improvisation skill. This also goes into remembering his riffs. All he has to do is find his root note & then start piecing together the intervals from memory
That’s the best single guitar performance I have personally ever seen.
Watching the audience’s heads explode one by one. Glorious, woo!
Absolutely unreal!!
Chris you provide this for us 'tubers in 4K- all 90 minutes of it, and all for free !?! yOU friggin' legend= lUVvYu maaaate-
ua-cam.com/video/n4bply6Ibqw/v-deo.html
I've got to say, the quality of the sound is amazing and the picture so vivid, it looks like Bucket is right in my living room. Almost 3D. Totally awesome. Spanks!
You must have a pretty cool living room...
Aside from the ads in between every song, I absolutely love this entire set
There's actually a chicken with a drumstick inside that bucket playing drums.
There is also one pecking the boost pedal for him behind the amp on the right
Sooo, its a chicken drumstick then 😂
Really? I heard the chicken came from flipping chicken
I thought this was gonna be a ratatouille joke at first. Missed opportunity
That's why he sometimes uses a KFC bucket.
best show I've seen in ages. true genius
Absolutely amazing! Blown away!
Dude is a genius. Wow!
This guy is blowing my mind
One of my favs for sure. His music truly takes you away somewhere.
Thumbs up for that roadie, he goes everywhere bucketheads go!
I'd be the same way hahah Who wouldn't just go around with Bucket and enjoy the music he does, and even be able to help!
roadie/cousin
Yeah..
Is it commitment, or other than Walmart, he has not other options?
@@dbjack7022 Yeah I'm pretty sure he would still have options lol. But he found a pretty sweet gig imo
Living greatness on his terms ..salute!
And I have to say I'm very proud he didn't stick around g n R too long
Usually quiet crowds are annoying, Buckethead crowds are the exception
Why quiet crowds are annoying? If i go to a concert its to listen music. Imagine dancing and cheering while an orchestra is playing
Oh, far from the first. See King Crimson, Frank Zappa, ...
@@slf1239 Imagine standing completely straight faced during a Slipknot concert 😂
Speechless! I was frozen in amazement..damn! All i could do was admire those tunes...awesome
This is so inspiring I am a new guitar player and learning and bucket head inspiers me to keep practicing
Same here ! I'm working on Welcome to bucketheadland but holy shit ! Its fucking hard !
That was probably the greatest performance of Big Sur Moon that I have ever seen... Amazing!
Can't wait to hear it.
I'll take your word for it sir
ua-cam.com/video/n4bply6Ibqw/v-deo.html
Sick! SICK!! SICK!!! Possibly the best performance of his that I've listened to!
I was here!!! First time seeing buckethead perform and I hope to God it's not the last
dude my first concert i saw him at the richmond national a day before his birthday he was amazing i was front row it was such a life changing expirence when you see someone that great that close and really FEEL the music they made its really a big influence on my life i play guitar as well and im getting extremely good and only been playing about 2 years and this man inspired my life for the better with guitar with everything. Thank you Buckethead you may never read this or even see this if you do thank you for making my life better with the music you made from your mind and soul thank you so much its really good shit man keep it up remember your roots you can put down MANY more albums 2 come im a big fan i support u with what i can
I keep coming back to this performance.
Just discovering this guy, holy shit...glad I'm discovering him still in his prime
He’s always in his prime until he passes
thank you! this is the best Buckethead boot!! Good for people like me, outside the USA who are unlikely to see him.
Just wow, so creative. Extremely inspiring, this music is complex and emotionally charged.
Humerous and scary at the same time.
This is artistic expression at a high level.
Bucket Head, you are strange and interesting, creating soundscapes that excite. Amazing work.
Never took this guy seriously! Wow I was wrong!!
No shit you still in pajama pants haha
ua-cam.com/video/n4bply6Ibqw/v-deo.html
Experiencing the same at the moment. Last 2 weeks listeria listening to nothing else
You poor souls... Welcome to the club
Guyinpajamapants you’re not alone...I’m binging with his music these past few days...totally wasted many years of not really listening haha
This guy is amazing. I don’t think I could sit thru an hour and a half of this but he’s an incredible guitarist.
You're like most sheep. Need to hear lyrics. Need to hear someone telling you what to think, because you're unable to hear the words of the instrument.
Typical.
After watching multiple concerts, imho this one has the best version of Siege Engine EVER!!!
Most talented thing is keeping the bucket balanced on his head during distortion peddle activations
