- EPAS Performance provides an electrical power steering unit, adaptable to most vintage vehicles, so you can enjoy modern power steering on your classic car.
EPAS Performance can be installed on most cars, trucks, domestic and imports from the 1920s throughout the 1980s.
EPAS Performance can also be mounted on race cars such as road race cars and off road trucks.
An easy step by step installation manual will be provided with the purchase of the kit.
No major or irreversible modifications are made to your vintage vehicle, everything is located under your dash and is almost, if not completely invisible.
EPAS Performance offers different versions:
a 45 amp for vehicles up to 4,000 lbs
a 60 amp for vehicles thereafter
a 80 amp for specific racing applications
How it works: The computer measures the amount of effort on the steering wheel and amplifies it with the aid of the electric motor. A potentiometer allows you to have more or less assistance, so you can adjust the amount of power assist. For example, you can have maximal power assist on a parking lot, and less on the highway.
Do you do a kit which can go onto a chrome 30” Collum? Like an ididit type of Collum? Thanks
Yes Marcus - we highly recommend Ididit columns. Please contact us directly to discuss your particular application.
I' looking for a system for a 1953 Chevy pick up truck (3600) the only one I have seen recommended was the flaming river uni8versal kit but i cant see how that woudl work on a one piece column and steering box.
Yes - we make a kit for your application. Please contact us directly, as we cannot take orders thru UA-cam.
I have a f100, 56, I do not want to install inside the cabin. I would like to install it right next to the steering box, next to the engine. Is it possible or does this equipment not withstand heat and water if located on the outside of the car?
Our system is not heat or weather proof. It is designed to go on the column inside the vehicle. Thanks!
Not a good thing to put inside the cabin
i like this system looking at that kit it could be easily adapted to most 50's cars with similar steering columns
with external gear shift rod
what is the cost of this kit
and do you ship to australia ??
Hi JJ - yes, our kit's are meant for 1950's cars and trucks. Please contact us directly to dicsuss assembling kits for your application, and yes - we ship worldwide.
does this same kit work for the 52 ford F1 ?
No David - all of our kits are year specific. Please call us directly to order a unit for your application.
Would be better if kit could be out of sight. Having it in the cabin looks terrible.
Every application will be different as to where the motor will fit best, some are next to invisible, an old truck like this was not designed to ever have electric power steering, so yes, it is more noticeable. Hasn't stopped it from flying off the shelves yet!
