These trucks average 500 gallons while flowing at about 100-125 gpms on a 1 3/4. That gives you 4 minutes before you're out of water IF youre constantly flowing. Most departments have their second due engine catch the plug and stretch in, and theyre typically less than 3 minutes out. It's a waste of time unless you're on a fire where time no longer matters because its a big box, etc.
Fire service has evolved. 1st due priority now, is get a line in service and stop fire spread. In my department, our engines all carry 1000 gallons, our 2nd or 3rd due catches the plug, unless it's close for 1st. In this case, there were reports of ppl trapped, hitting a hydrant by 1st in companies, delays rescue. Life over property.

Wow I'd say that's a bumpy road your Public Works Department or State whoever owns the road needs to take better care of the roads that's an accident waiting to happen
