    Thumbs up to that 10 year old child for his/her bravery to alert the adults of the fire. If not for that child this could have been a horrible outcome. Smoke Alarms anyone?

    First line was 1.75" with that much fire. The deck gun was good cover before the ladder went up. But a 2.5" with that much fire.

      I agree that this fire was way beyond a 1 3/4 in. line duty and that the deck gun was well called for, but as I thought I heard, when you use these large output lines, you must also have a dedicated water supply to feed them. it sounded like the engine was running out of water several times during the first 6 minutes of the video.

    How absolutely terrifying for these people but especially so for the 10-year old child! The child discovered the fire? Lemme guess...no working smoke alarms to awaken everyone, right?! Extremely lucky not to have had fatalities here! God bless the heroic volunteer firefighters protecting their community! 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

    The house looks like another case of lightweight construction they burn so easily.

      Miles High The deck gun puts a big hurt on the fire. Love to see them at work.

    Can somebody explain why the RPM of the pumper(s) seemed to go up and down?

    • @bobjohnson8605
      @bobjohnson8605 4 роки тому +2

      Pumps, for the most part, are automated now. Any change in water pressure etc. will make the pump change pressure there for RPM of the engine. Engine drives the pump.

      Engineer sets a pressure relief valve on the pump to primarily protect personal on hand lines from dangerous pressure surges. Nice to see master streams place early in on the fire. Big fire=big water.

    Master streams are bad ass.
    The power and pressure removes shingles and boards, but couldn't save the home.
    Not every fire has a happy ending.
    Sad

    Video was very well done. On some of the shots I could almost feel the heat.

    I refuse to believe they led off with an 1 3/4 handline. Time wasn't a question with the volume of fire showing.

      The video didn't start when the crew arrived. The line used was fast but in this case it looks like the fire hit a highly combustable source. Yes, they were slow on the larger line.

    Wow wtf? Firefighters actually masked up??? That’s not normal. (Sarcasm) seen a lot of vids and most of the time the FF’s don’t bother to go on air.
