Arriving companies located heavy fire from a single-story residence. 1 FF transported precautionary. Cause and origin under investigation. Family got out on their own and called 911. House is likely a total loss

in the Houston area there aren t any basements. All of the heating systems are in the attic.
A guy wearing no protective gear and using a ladder to knock down structural members suggests the FD is not quite ready for prime time.
This department has seen more fire than 80-85 percent of po dunk fire departments

Thats how you spot the phony's and wannabes, they are always the ones popping off with "They should have used a deck gun"... or, "It's the most underutilized tool in fire fighting".
When in reality any professional experienced firefighter knows that they are one of the least practical & least useful tools for the vast majority of offensive firefighting at jobs like this.
I'm not impressed with their urgency..something is not clicking for them..
