  • This time we were back in the Western Fells in one of the most scenic areas of the Lake District. Starting from just above Wast Water we were hiking up three impressive but lesser known Wainwrights. First up it was the rugged Middle Fell which has impressive views over to the Scafell Range.
Next up the rounded top Of Seatallan where we made a new friend and got some great views back to Middle Fell. Then we headed our way down to Buckbarrow to finish our round of three impressive fells.
This was a great day out and to say we were in such a popular part of the Lakes we only met three walkers all day. They also happened to be the friendliest bunch of hikers we've ever come across. We spent 10 mins chatting to a young lad from Edinburgh on the first summit, he was spending the week on a nearby campsite. Then we met a fell runner from Glasgow on our second hill. Then finally on the way down a local man with some interesting stories about Buckbarrow.
All round this was a great day out with some impressive views of the Lake District and some great weather which was an added bonus. Three more Wainwrights checked of our list and ones we thoroughly enjoyed.

Thanks for the video Andy! I remember climbing Scafell in the middle of winter once and it was an amazing experience. Definitely want to explore the Lakes more 🙂
