Aw, thank you! Titan was definitely a great horse for my first lesson for that discipline. It was a great experience and I want to do it again!

Hey Dave and Elizabeth - what a great lesson 😁👍 And what a beautiful Arabian gelding ❣🐴! He was listening, thinking, and kept his head down - the last was a huge problem with the grey Arabian gelding that my sisters and I rode. He refused to put his head down 🥴

Horse is behind the vertical and hyperflexion occurs in the thumbnail and throughout most of canter.

Thanks and you may be right, especially since that was my first time trying this discipline.

@@MagnificentHorsesit's unfortunately a learned behavior that the horse used to avoid pain from the bit, doesn't matter which discipline you ride in.

Dave is learning to push the horse up to the bridle and engage the hind end, part of the lesson of what riders need to learn on a show horse.

@@elizabethmorton2091 Which doesn't include hyperflexion, but that's what happens. This is because while horses are told to be taught to work from the hind end, they are actually being worked from the front, thus the horse falls behind the vertical at best, gets pulled behind at worst. This isn't an intermediate rider problem btw, constantly more and more dressage riders in the Olympic levels are getting points as high as 7 and 8 and winning with horses that are behind the vertical most if not the entire time they're being tested
