He isn't putting down dressage. He's just saying that he finds it odd that the saddle tips the rider forward and then the rider leans back to compensate. Not putting it down; just stating a bit that he finds odd.
I absolutely agree! The dressage saddle does make you feel like your being pitched forward! I have never found a dressage saddle that I like. I love saddle seat!

I have often wondered why dressage riders these days ride in such deep-seated saddles but talk about sitting back in the saddle. Older dressage pictures show a much flatter saddle.
The dressage saddle doesn't tip a rider forward- it positions a rider to OPEN their hips. And is cut to free the shoulder. If it's not positioning the rider well- then they bought an I'll fitting saddle. I HATE riding in my jumping saddle- I feel very closed in the hips and like I can't sit the trot
