Photographing The Lone Trees of TORRIDON….
Вставка

- I didn't intend to photograph these lone trees in Torridon, but when the opportunity presented itself, I just had to take it.
These 4 lone trees were set on the shore of Loch Maree with the spectacular Slioch Mountain overseeing the majesty of the Torridon landscape.
My main aim with all these photographs was to try and isolate each tree to add separation and depth to the photograph. The early autumnal colours added extra beauty to this breathtaking, gorgeous landscape.

Ove that tree wow what a great location
Aye….it’s a magical location….
Who doesn't like a wander among Scots pines, they are wonderful. I have a good few trees l regularly visit, and always stop for a photo. I liked the boulder you pretended to shift,😉 it was there long before the tree. Lovely video Dean thank you......Alioban
These trees in Torridon are just so magical. I don't often photograph trees but I do make an exception when in Torridon. Really pleased you enjoyed the video….
Great video Dean... best of luck with your channel 👍
Thank you Motaz….very much appreciated.
Another amazing video and images. We had plans to come to Scotland last spring but we had to cancel due my wife illness. She is on the mend now so planning again for a future trip. Keep well. Keith (Canada)
Hi Keith….I hope your wife continues to recover well and hope that you can both return to the Highlands in the very near future. Thank you for commenting. It is very much appreciated…Dean
Great vlog Dean]
Thank you Alison…..your support is very much appreciated.
Glad I found your channel, great images of lone trees. I wouldn’t have expected 1/30 or 1/60 would have been fast enough to freeze the leaves, but wow, well done. Look forward to watching more videos now. I live in moray , so interested in where you go next
Thank you very much & good to hear from a fellow Moray resident. Hope you continue to enjoy the channel….
What’s not to like about this…..great locations, great images, great b roll, an all together enjoyable vlog¡ keep them coming!
Thank you Gary….very much appreciated. Hope to see you soon in the magical Uists…..
Another fantastic video both for instruction and location. A lone tree workshop sounds good for the winter. A dusting of snow on Slioch……
Thanks again, Andy
Thank you Andy, much appreciated. Snow on Slioch is the best image without doubt
Excellent video Dean. Torridon is a stunning location and you have really done it justice!
Thank you Jon….it is a wonderful place to explore in a magical landscape.
Now I have to go ot and find myself a lone tree!
One of my favourite locations.
The rock doesn't bother me but the lone tree cutting through the middle of the mountain does.
Excellent video though, Dean
Thank you for your comment - it is very much appreciated.
Haha, the last minute or so, that's where I left my camera bag. Nice one, Dean!
I did chuckle when Paul told me about this….after he told me it was still there……thankfully, it's pretty quiet there, I didn't see a soul all day whilst I was parked there.
Great work Dean. Very nice shots
Thank you Ben….it is such a beautiful place which I'm fortunate to be able to visit most weeks.
I enjoyed it! From Lolo, Montana, USA
Thank you Charles….

Some absolutely wonderful images here! I’ve got six days in Torridon in a workshop three weeks, watching all the blogs from the area to hype myself up haha

Such a beautiful part of Scotland and those images are superb Dean.Hope you do more videos from my beloved homeland! 💙🏴💙
Thank you Anne….Definitely doing more, hoping to travel up to the far north coast tomorrow to continue filming.
Even the video you have been filming with is a high resolution and it does pull you in the scene. The images and surroundings are lovely? Thank you.

Great video Dean. What a stunning location too 👌
Thank you very much David….Torridon is a magical place and a spectacular landscape.
I really enjoyed your video and I will be scouting out those areas next March when I'm up for 2 weeks in Aviemore.
Thank you very much and I hope you enjoy your trip up here next March….
Great video Dean - Fuji looks great! Do you ever use the Nikon still?
Hi Clare…hope you're well. I've still got my Nikons and still use them. They're a part of the family and I'll continue to use them.
Nice one Dean bud....
Thank you John…your support is very much appreciated.
Beautiful location - I like the rock 😀 Your photos turned out great. Thanks and good luck with your new channel!
Thank you Robynn, very much appreciated….
Something about Scottish trees , I’ve always wanted a Scots Pine Bonsai in my collection. Excellent and enjoyable video Dean .
Thank you John, they are so photogenic. Your support is very much appreciated.
Cracking location Dean. I notice you’ve a more relaxed style since your first vlog. And I suspect you’ll get more relaxed / subscribers as you post more vlogs. Also noticed that you’ve changed you camera system since March, Fuji is obviously the way forward😉. Keep posting.
Thank you Allan….your feedback is very much appreciated. I've been a stills photographer for so long, but am trying to embrace this filming into my workflow. A steep learning curve. I have bought the Fuji GFX 50 system and the dynamic range of the images is amazing. But, I've still got my Nikon's….they've been with me for so long and I still use them on a regular basis, especially when teaching.
Sorry, am I missing something in the final still of the first tree ? The entire line of telegraph poles marching across the hillside in the immediately preceding footage seem have been cloned out (??) but those in the centre left of the frame have not ? Why make this choice ? I am struggling to understand the choice here in removing half of the power infrastructure but leaving some of it which his just as noticeable and just as distracting. Surely, if the scene is going to be erased to suit your vision the whole power line goes ?
Thank you very much for your comment. You are absolutely right, I'm afraid I made a mistake in not cloning out the remaining infrastructure. Either that, or I should have left it as it was. It either should have been, all or nothing. Human error based on a slight indecision on whether to include or exclude them. I was distracted during this decision making process and thank you for your observation. It's a new channel and I am on a very steep learning curve and appreciate your input and hope that I can learn from it moving forward. Dean.
Great video! I will be visiting this area in October, we are coming for a whole month. Cant wait to get back! Nice work again Dean.
Thank you Ryan…I hope you have a fantastic time up here. Autumn is coming…..
