I've been reading the book "Alone At Dawn" recently and it's just such an amazing story when you learn more even outside the event that led to his death. He was a selfless and compassionate hero. If anyone's wondering who wrote the book it's by Dan Schilling, he also posted a video on youtube about how this was the first medal of honor ever recorded, also an amazing video like this one.

26 years in, I've heard and watched this story countless times. ALWAYS brings up so much emotion in the form of respect for my USAF brother but also for the team that kept moving forward. They thought he was gone and made the call to protect the rest of the team, fall back and call in help. 110% the right call but try and tell them that. Then there is the family members that never volunteered or signed up to serve ... but still find themselves serving just as much as the rest of us. So much respect and LOVE for everyone touched by this.. and honestly if you are an American that is ALL of us. Love and respect to all my veteran brothers and their families.
Watching him fist fight with the bad guy is bone chilling. He’s already been shot many times and yet he’s in a fist fight for his life, to which he wins and fights onwards. No doubt in my mind he knew he wasn’t making it home that day, he decided to go out guns blazing like a fkn bad ass. Hopefully his kids will grow up understanding how bad ass their dad really was with this video.
Usually I cry about shit or am moved to tears when I'm really tired. But this hit different. It's not because killing people makes heroes but because of the sheer commitment not to leave a man behind against all possible odds. I salute the immense bravery of these men, even if they fight in seemingly senseless wars because politicians decided to do so. And I even admit that I am somewhat jealous of the brotherhood these men have. I'm not even a US-citizen and live in Germany but since we are allies and you guys regularly help our troops I want to thank everyone for their service because you also got many german soldiers out of the grips of death.

Dan Schillings work was a huge inspiration for this video.
I've been on exercises with PJ'S when the US and the UK trained together and what troopers they are, a massive asset. Loved working with our brothers from across the pond 🇬🇧🤜🤛🇺🇸
I hope you did or are doing good in school otherwise cct won't be available for you.
They are making a movie about it too, just fyi.
@@phxdubr I am not surprised about that! 😅
Greatest respect to this mans family, Both blood and brothers at arms, Obviously he was raised right, then taught right, The tragedy is that a Mans Man of his Caliber had to Fall instead of Carry on blessing those lucky enough to have known him.
God Bless Mr.Chapman
I will cry by this , always , Definitely .
He is the Hero .
R i p..... Real hero, this man made my tears fall...
RIP brave soldiers, love and respect from the UK 🇬🇧🇺🇸
Usually I cry about shit or am moved to tears when I'm really tired. But this hit different. It's not because killing people makes heroes but because of the sheer commitment not to leave a man behind against all possible odds. I salute the immense bravery of these men, even if they fight in seemingly senseless wars because politicians decided to do so. And I even admit that I am somewhat jealous of the brotherhood these men have. I'm not even a US-citizen and live in Germany but since we are allies and you guys regularly help our troops I want to thank everyone for their service because you also got many german soldiers out of the grips of death.
Thank You for my freedom .RIP🙏♥️
I have seen this video quite a few times already and I'm always amazed, what a hero!
These guys are so brave, they all deserve the honour of being given the medal of honour. No matter what anyone assumes about this incident. 🇺🇸🇺🇸
Outstanding job by these men, charging into battle knowing what could happen. You'll never be forgotten for your sacrifice.
This was a mission in Medal of Honor 2010. Loosely based of course. The devs had their studio shut down after the 2nd game since all those missions for still classified. Bamfs
What can you say. A man who lays down his life to safe his comrades. There are not enough words. At the same time, there are no words.
God bless John Chapman. Rest in peace. Sleep soundly, know you were a man out of millions.🙊🙉🙈🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
There’s nothing god hates more than a coward and loves nothing more than someone who lays down their life for his brothers in arms
@@MikeSmith-vl5em totally, 100% agree with that sentiment.
There are too few men left and now they are trying to femminse the young lads in schools.
Glad I lived my life some years ago now. Stay safe🙏
This video never gets easier to watch. Thankful for all of those who protect and preserve freedom....
God bless these 7 fallen soldiers.
Rest easy guys 🕊 and thank you
Truly an amazing, courageous badass. I'd like to get his book one day. May Valhalla welcome him along with other brave soldiers.
These are the people I look up too man. No matter what even if they know they have zero percent chance of survival they still battle till it’s nothing left. R.I.P to all fallen soldiers and thank you to all vets
RIP to our fallen soldiers. My heart goes out to them and they're families. THANK YOU for all your brave work. THANK YOU to ALL you service men and ladies. God Bless
I’m speechless. It’s men like this that make me proud to be an American. The type of character - grit - bravery - selflessness - courage - it takes to maneuver under circumstances like this. God bless these men and all our men and women who have served and continue to serve our country today.
We are forever grateful.
God bless America.
❤
God bless Afghanistan as well they were worthy opponents defending their country from the US invasion
@@BulkernatorKerb What are you talking about, they were fighting the terrorists in the country wich attacked first by the way.
These are heroes that made a choice to fight for our county and others they deserve respect
I'm an Indian but have so much respect for American soldiers. God bless America.
We love India here in the USA! The immigrants from India are so humble, family oriented and professional.
The culture of India is beautiful and assimilates well with us here in the US.
ONE LOVE
Indians dont get enough credit for the fighting they have done also. So much respect to Indian and your soldiers as well.
Im from outer space and came here to give U.S a warning for their colonial war ideologys. War criminals will be punished and already now being punished.
@@tooter365we definitely dont
Brave soldiers exist everywhere. Maybe you should check some of the events from our own armed forces.
Kargil and Longewalla alone were epic.
Badass men who selflessly gave it all for their brothers and sisters. God bless you all.
Rest in peace, Mr. Chapman and all soldiers risking their lives on the battlefield...
R.I.P. to this honorable and brave man🙏
He's the definition of f**k around and find out

Finally had the time to finish it. Thank you for your support!
@@BrothersInArmsEnglish no problem! Thank you for your awesome content
Being born an raised in Oceanside, CA the city neighboring Camp Pendleton, CA (USMC base) I can never get threw videos like these without tearing up hearing how brave they were & maintained until their very last moments here on this earth. Its incredibly sad to hear this story but it's one that needs to be heard, some of these younger folks need to understand the good life we have here in the US didn't come cheap, lot of men & women have paid the ultimate sacrifice so that we don't have to. They won't be forgotten ❤️
Made me tear up a little, good video like always
Everytime I revisit this story of so much VALOUR it makes me proud of our family of VETERANS who are not with us anymore in the physical sense it brings me to tears again and again.
GOD SPEED TO TO ALL OUR VETERANS OF ALL THE WARS WHO HAVE BEEN THERE 💔🙏💔 In loving memory Dad
As we say in Canada « Lest we forget ». Thanks to all that serve. 🇨🇦

What women?
This men are real heroes. They fight for the free world and got my eternal respect. As an engineer i probely never get in such an situation but ill try my best at my job for people like these. Respect from The Netherlands to all the American (and other allied) heroes.
Such courage, a warrior!!!
He fought like a lion braveman.thanks that was great .watching from Scotland peace and love to all
Haha, yes, yes, the fought, then defeat
I remember this story, left a sour taste in my mouth. Plan seemed poorly constructed and since they were recovering a body I feel like there wasn't a huge rush to action. Champman is an absolute savage for running into fire without hesitation. I just wish there was a different end to this story.
With Joe Biden leaving them 60 billion worth military tech, you don't have to worry about situation like these. They would end much quicker now. Taliban's have plenty of ammo and RPG now.
One hell of a great-brave warrior.What a dedication !!! Bravo.
I remember watching the black and white video. Feeling nothing but admiration for John Chapman. It wasnt until I watched a dramatization explaining how the entire operation unfolded that I realized how bad of a position they were truely in. RIP Chapman and the other men lost in this battle. 🕊
Every time A video of this pops up for me to watch , I watch it. I always fight back emotions and tears . ALWAYS.
Fucking Beast! - RIP Warrior
