so since FF13-2 is out soon i decided to replay FF13 and i had forgotin about this scene so i decided to record and see what all you other guys think about this awesomeness
Coming back to this scene I always remember that what blew me away the most of course, was Lightning and Odin. Apart from the iconic exchange of "you're dead! You first!", her and Odin's teamwork is absolutely godly. Between him tossing her into the fray like nothing, and protecting her every time she was in danger, and her trading weapons with him back and forth and the seamless man-horse-man transformations, it's no wonder he kept reappearing in big ways for each game in the trilogy; our trusty steed. Still one of the best scenes in FF history.
To everyone wondering what was the point of this scene or what is going on: the party was returning to Cocoon they used a teleporter or something like that at Pulse and they didn’t knew where they will appear so they see they appeared at a race with a lot of sanctum security and they adapted to the situation also they had to fight because everyone on Cocoon hates them and wants them dead specially the sanctum.
To everyone wondering what the point of this scene REALLY was, Squeenix had blown a good chunk of money making this scene for elements that were ultimately cut from the game due to the constant engine rebuilds and overall development hell, but the cutscene was just so good, they left it in anyway without much context.
To everyone wondering what the ACTUAL point of this scene REALLY was....its for audience enjoyment. At the end of the day This game is absolutely beautiful and explains IN DEPTH most of what the story is about...not every little thing needs or is even going to be able to clearly detail certain bits and pieces. In any story. This scene is understandable and plausible enough to be able to still follow along with everything happening....provided the game is played of course💯💯💯
still remember the first time i watched this scene during the game. I was completely awed. friggin awesome and more awesome with the controller in your hands
A lot of people hate it since it’s seemed like a massive step back when compared to the previous FF games, especially compared to FFXII. Where FFXII was very open world with lots of side quests throughout the story, XIII was very linear until late game. Where FFXII’s story was easy to follow and had a nice progression, XIII’s story was hard to grasp with most of the relevant information being hidden in a massive data logs dump at the start of the game. Whilst FFXII had the diverse License board (then International Job System) plus the coding-based Gambit System, XIII had the linear Crystarium and Paradigm system which only allowed AI party members and no option to switch characters mid-fight. As such, whilst FFXIII had “fantasy elements”, it is nowhere near the pinnacle of JRPG that the FF brand is known for, especially when compared to its direct predecessor.
@@JamesSamson487 I had no idea what was happening in XII the entire time and could follow XIII no problem. To each their own I guess. While I love the game I do agree with the party leader thing and game over when they die, I really don't understand the decision behind that.
Indeed the best cutscene, that's hard to argue with😎 Hope saying "Hi there!" to an enemy to bait it into death was such a badass thing for the kid to do, then Lightning and Odin's teamwork being the spectacle of the show, and can't forget about how they all act like they're part of the race as contestants and seem to be enjoying themselves even though they're in the middle of a battle😂
+paulman34340 That's a good question. I mean, the scene was fucking spectacular but what exactly was accomplished here? Why did Lightning and her party assault Eden's racetrack packed with innocent people? Weren't they saying how much they want to protect everyone just minutes ago? Those dead motorcyclists don't look very protected to me, they look fucking dead!
+♞ Go Fuck Yourself ♞ I know its been a year but just answering if you are still wondering. Lightning and her party just went through the portal and got here, they did not have a choice or decide where to land. They just ends up here. I think Lightning and her party did not attack the racers. At 1:46 that is a racer's motorcycle, while at 3:00 Lightning attacks another motorcycle which looks different and belongs to the PSICOM i think.
I love this cutscene even vanille is funny Hecatoncheir: _protecting vanille_ Vanille:hey stop it stop that Other soldiers: _dosen't stop shooting Rocketeer: BLOCK THIS Vanille: uh oh Hecatoncheir: _explodes back Vanille: ahhhhhhh Sazh: VANILLEEEEEE vanille is soooo funny there
Interesting how much difference a change in music makes, Skip this video to 1:27 and pause /watch?v=yTWdiaS3uq4 and pause at 1:30 (There is a 0:05 second difference, but 1:30 leaves time to sync)
@Femto Leviathan was cool, but didn't really have as epic a sense of teamwork, and the train was neat, but generally speaking, it's because this scene is a fully scripted cgi that makes it work so amazingly. In-engine gameplay is fun, but could hardly ever achieve the madness in this scene.
Final Fantasy VII - AWESOME!!! Final Fantasy VIII - Wooohooo, IMPRESSIVE!!! Final Fantasy IX - Good... Final Fantasy X - Whoah!!! Cool!!! Final Fantasy XI - Nice. Final Fantasy XII - A little different, but very satisfying Final Fantasy XIII - WEIRD.
my final fantasy is a better explanation and timeline of the game and who the hell are they fighting and is continuity a thing in these games or is it random stupid stories all the time ?

And in Lightning Return he came back as a bad ass chocobo that took on behemoths with no hesitation
Snow is a mood when he says "I probably should have covered that"

I always thought the point of it was that they now had the resolve to complete their focus.
Lightning is bae
"Probably should have covered that"
"You're dead" "You first"
There was comedy in this.
still remember the first time i watched this scene during the game. I was completely awed. friggin awesome and more awesome with the controller in your hands
Love how Hope is just like, "Stop!" His standing there shows he's grown from being a scared, sarcastic little kid into that.
I prefer his line before that. "Hi there."
@@marksebree5218, he does say that! I never heard exactly what he said since so much was happening! So cool!
As soon as I heard the Eidolons theme I knew something was gonna go down.
This was a good game. So many people hate on it but I liked it. It still had that fantasy element.

Loved the ff13 trilogy but this scene was the ONLY scene in the game giving the eidolons their purpose for their transformation
xiii-2 gives them a little more purpose..
@@noobdude5933 I don't remember XIII-2 having eidolons lol
@@aeroga2383 just dark odin as a DLC
snow motorcycle?
my only complaint about this scene is that its too close to the screen and too shaky making things hard to see half the time.
I like the scene but is kind of hard to see, my eyes feels tired for so much movememt of the camera
I love how she calls Odin
Maybe not a popular opinion, but Lightning is one of my favorite character in the FF series
One of the best cutscene i've ever seen in my live.
Best scene in Final Fantasy 13
Year 2021 and this still gives me chills.
3:07 Fang's laugh is adorable
Another pretty epic scene is probably the last one when Orphan is destroyed and Fang and Vanilla turn into Ragnarok.
I agree. Totally epic. I LOOOVED FF13.
Indeed the best cutscene, that's hard to argue with😎

He looks like Noctis. Surprised NO ONE has ever said anything
Cid? Yeah he does a little bit! You can see it in his eyes/face.
The rendering is the best part.
You know what could have made this scene even cooler?
Actually getting to play it, perhaps.
+Michael Welsh (Femoman) as well as make sense, why did the party enter like this again?
+paulman34340 That's a good question. I mean, the scene was fucking spectacular but what exactly was accomplished here? God, no. Quick time events is the stupidest invention ever. Why would you want that.
+Go Fuck Yourself Didn't one of the racers say "you are dead" to lightning? :V He wasn't to kind to the rose colored goddes of chaos XDDDD
2:22 No Shit, Snow!! See where your showboating gets you? 😓
It's like what would happen if the X-Men had Transformers. Pretty badass scene.
really the best epic scene ever!
Certainly my favorite scene
The literal Eidolons on Parade scene
I need a HD wallpaper of this 1:58
EPIC
I love this cutscene even vanille is funny
Hecatoncheir: _protecting vanille_
Vanille:hey stop it stop that
Other soldiers: _dosen't stop shooting
Rocketeer: BLOCK THIS
Vanille: uh oh
Hecatoncheir: _explodes back
Vanille: ahhhhhhh
Sazh: VANILLEEEEEE
vanille is soooo funny there
Title is wrong. Should say 'Final Fantasy Most Epic Scene'
the coldest part of the game
And nothing was accomplished by the end of this scene... xD
I think they did it to annoy the sanctum.
It was their return to Cocoon, they didn't even knew they would step in that place. LOL
wow vanille actually thought saying stop would let them stop lol
Move it!
And this is when i realised that my monitor sucks ass, lol
The best!
That's funny, so giant cloud made the entire sky pitch black xD

too bad, it got banned from copyright infringement
0:40 So Noctis was already in FF13?
lmao... I can't unsee that.

No this is Cid Raines, he appear in FFXIII-2 LR too.
Dont say they took his face model D:
Yep. And Rygdea is Ardyn
final fantasy xiii hope
Lightning plays no games!!!

No

if only the gameplay was this epic.
2009 guys. Holy shiet.
it looks cool, but what the hell was the point of this scene? what were they trying to do??
Cid face is copy paste of Noctis ❤
Badass scene even though i couldent really tell wtf was going on most pf the time and to bad the game itself wasent very good
Who gives a political speech right before a race? Weird
Final Fantasy VII - AWESOME!!!
Final Fantasy VIII - Wooohooo, IMPRESSIVE!!!

Final Fantasy XII - A little different, but very satisfying

This game could have been so much better :/
Very dynamic, But I must say I did't get most of what was happening on screen. Kinda horribly directed that scene.
my final fantasy is a better explanation and timeline of the game and who the hell are they fighting and is continuity a thing in these games or is it random stupid stories all the time ?
Such a shit game... FFX was the last good one
