Another fun fact is that Gambit’s MVC & final season X-Men TAS voice, Tony Daniels, is also the main announcer for Marvel Super Heroes vs. Street Fighter.
@@93SuperSonic Hi, thanks for watching! As for requests, I generally have a set batch of characters I decide on for each month or so. If someone asks to see a specific character, I try and see if I can squeeze them in, but try not to make any promises. Did you have a character in mind?
Our big brother love this character so much, and us twins can really see the appeal. He’s a product of the ‘90s that actually struck all the right notes to stick with the other big names of the Marvel universe. It kinda frustrates us that we seen plenty of fans build their own theoretical roster for a brand new Marvel vs Capcom and most of them never included Gambit in the base roster despite his popularity. Always wondered why is that? Us brothers definitely want to see Gambit come back to a new installment of the series
I think it just comes down to being a product of the 90s for a lot of people. I don't think that should ever be a limiting factor for a character getting into more games, but some people don't feel the same.
I love how most New Yorkers' farewell dialogue is always some variation of 'Stay Safe'. I have no idea how I discovered your channel as I'm not a superfan of the vs. series, but I'm glad I did. Keep up the good work.
Gambit has ALWAYS been my #1 I have a sealed copy of his first appearance and autographed copies of his 4pt mini series. I learned how to use playing cards well because I thought he was such a cool character
"You got the original physical releases of all the classic VS games? How did you afford that?!" Gambit: "Credit Card" Okay, jokes aside, Gambit, like a lot of Marvel characters, was introduced to me by MvC, but even though I was kind of a snob towards superhero comics as a kid (which I eventually got over) I was still like "but he's one of the COOL ones" And yeah, Gambit is just freaking cool, Royal Flush is one of the sickest supers in all of fighting games, and it is a crying shame that he and Dante never got to be in a Vs game together. Also, yes, my friends and I back then thought his attacks were "Credit Card" and "Agent Strike" xD I did eventually watch reruns of the 97 Xmen cartoon after playing MvC, and I started to actually like some of the characters (though I wouldn't admit it). I should go back and watch it again, now that I think about it
I think everyone either was or at least knew someone who unironically called it Credit Card lol X-Men TAS is still worth a watch, I'd say! If I'm being honest, some parts of it have aged like milk and a lot of the censorship really stifled what they could do action wise, but it's one of the first earnest attempts at serialized storytelling in western children's animation that I can think of, and I think that alongside the decent adaptations of popular X-Men stories (It still just about has the only really good media adaptation of the Phoenix Saga, abridged as it is) really carry it. I'd say go for it!
Man, oh man! Gambit had to be my OG favorite X-Men character when I first started watching the cartoon! He just oozed coolness and charisma! I was happy that characterization was still the case when I finally started reading the comics. 🤩
His Cajun Explosion is exactly what I imagine Gambit using his full power be like. Many X-men characters has that one defining moment such as Cyclops shoot his eyebeam through space and and rip a giant space fortress in two, or Magneto shifting Earth's magnetic pole. While in here, Capcom straight up give him something that only reserved for the strongest Capcom characters: the pillar of power. Think about it, Only Zero from Megaman X, Gouki from Street Fighter and Vergil (also Dante in his home series, Devil May Cry) has access to this type of technique where they punch the ground and generate a vertical beam of energy, which Gambit technically does with his second super.
This bastard Remy LeBeau be one of the main influences of me having spent my money on as many surplus of playing card decks as he has, in spite of me sucking at cardistry but being skilled at throwing cards instead, mon dieu. My personal renames for some of Gambit's moves: Cajun Slash -> Ace of Slash Cajun Escape -> Ace of Escape Cajun Strike -> Ace of Strike Royal Flush -> Regal Flush Cajun Explosion -> Blazejack ("Charge on 21!") Also when Gambit performs Royal Flush, he likely yells out "FLASH" since flush and flash are homophones when written in Japanese katakana (likely cause of the voice direction).
Gambit is one cool Cajun. And even though he is not in MVC3 properly at least there are fans the actual put him in with Mods along with others like Venom, Captain Commado and more to come.
11:39 You brought back a lot of memories. I remember buying that comic when it came out. The second issue was “Honor Amongst Thieves” with Storm costarring. Gambit is still one of my favorite X-Men. He has high levels of attack strength and dexterity. The “New Son” story arc revealed that he is much more powerful than portrayed in the 616 Universe though I believe it was also revealed that he was the brother of Cyclops as Havoc. So now the summer siblings are a total of five boys with Gambit and Adam being shrouded in obscurity.
It’s very confusing. Cyclops’ mother was pregnant with Vulcan when she and Corsair (the original”Starlord” Lol) were kidnapped by the Shi-Ar. Then she lost the baby who was born premature and grew in a pod. Then she was assaulted by D’Ken and impregnated with Adam. So at what point was Gambit born in that story? In addition to Gambit & Rogue who are core members of the team and got to be part of the roster along with their VAs from the show to boot, Jubilee also had a cameo in Wolverine’s ending which I thought was really nice and wholesome.

I think I may have played a Marvel Lego game at some point, though I don't remember which. It was open world though, so maybe it was the Avengers one? Either way, I'll give Lego Marvel Super Heroes a look!
@@TheSeventhForce All three LEGO Marvel games are open world, I just used "Hub" because it kind of is, you explore it to go to the next level, and the levels don't actually take place in it, as for the differences between all three, LM1 is just Manhattan, LEGO Marvel Avengers is an adaptation of the MCU, (More specifically the first Avengers movie, Age of Ultron, and some short bonus/DLC levels based on a few others like Iron Man 3, Captain America the Winter Solder, and Thor the Dark World to name the ones in the base game) and while it is still mainly Manhattan, it does have a couple smaller hubs. (Like Hawkeye's farm, Tony's beachside house, and the S.H.I.E.L.D base Loki wrecked to name three) And LEGO Marvel 2, to keep the story short, is a Kang story where he brings together a bunch of places in the universe to make a perfect city named Chronopolis, which is made up of 17 different cities' so I'm not going to name them all, so if you played in Manhattan, it was probably 1 or Avengers, and if it was Chronopolis it was 2.

I carry huge joke playing cards and a foam/plastic Bo staff.
It's sad Gambit gets the shaft now. I pnly watched a bit of 90s X-Men and grew up more with both X-Men evolution and Wolverine and the X-Men where Gambit is more against them. I finally got to watch 90s X-Men where I ended up loving the characters more. Sadly Deadpool, who i still like, gets more attention. I honestly think you should make a video on why the X-Men are important to the Marvel vs Capcom series.
Unfortunately, outside of resorting to emulation, your options are pretty limited. Both Marvel Vs. Capcom Origins and Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 HD aren't available on their respective platforms anymore, and the only decent way to play X-Men Vs. Street Fighter outside of emulation short of owning the arcade board for it is the Japanese Sega Saturn port; which requires some hoops to jump through and additional hardware to play.
Pretty much what I said, lol. Was at a barcade a couple years back playing some friendly matches and I hit someone with that infinite just to see if I could still pull it off in a match. Thought he was saying that too when I was a kid
Life don't get much betta dan dis!!! 👍
Gambit simply has the sauce
It's sad Gambit gets the shaft now. I pnly watched a bit of 90s X-Men and grew up more with both X-Men evolution and Wolverine and the X-Men where Gambit is more against them. I finally got to watch 90s X-Men where I ended up loving the characters more.
Sadly Deadpool, who i still like, gets more attention.
I honestly think you should make a video on why the X-Men are important to the Marvel vs Capcom series.
Honestly, that's not a bad video idea at all! I'll have to remember that.
@@TheSeventhForce thanks I wanted to make it myself but it would take a long time. I have had this idea in my head since Infinite came out
Threats and fights around an cab. The next generation missed out
Marrow next?
#freemvc2 #FREEMVC2 great vid as usual
That story is hilarious
Hey thanks for the video. where can I play this game?
Unfortunately, outside of resorting to emulation, your options are pretty limited.
Both Marvel Vs. Capcom Origins and Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 HD aren't available on their respective platforms anymore, and the only decent way to play X-Men Vs. Street Fighter outside of emulation short of owning the arcade board for it is the Japanese Sega Saturn port; which requires some hoops to jump through and additional hardware to play.
those janky xmen fighting games were mad fun i never forgot wolverines grab quote "gonna bleed ya" lmfao
16:51...
9:46 Nah man you can’t just say that and not tell us that story 😂
Pretty much what I said, lol. Was at a barcade a couple years back playing some friendly matches and I hit someone with that infinite just to see if I could still pull it off in a match. Dude turns towards me, says "You're lucky I'm not the old me, 'cause I woulda stabbed you in the chest for that" and walked away from the cab.
Weirdest interaction I'd had with videogames in a while tbh
@@TheSeventhForce Dear Jesus Christ 😭 be safe out there man. “The old me” fuck him
I thought you made this series years ago and I was looking for Phoenix Wright since you made one on Deadpool
Haven't gotten around to him yet, but hopefully in the future!
@@TheSeventhForce Little note his grab is the dog from his series I think in an Alternate costume Amaterasu appears but I thinknit was a reference to Jill's hound attack when you covered her the animation is very similar
If you decide to do namco fighting games in the future can you do tekken or.hack//link ?
Tekken I have a few blind spots with (aside from SFxT, mostly everything after Dark Resurrection I've played very little of), but wouldn't mind going into it at some point. I'd definitely have to do my research beforehand, though.
@@TheSeventhForce makes sense, and with .hack//link (which is a fighting game based off the.hack series) would probably take longer to do research
You suppose Gordeau is in fact just copyright-avoided Gambit?
Nah, I just think they saw an opportunity for a cool color reference in BBTAG and took it. Hard to deny it fits like a glove, though.
