I will be watching this in New Zealand on Saturday night. The last Coronation I watched live was on a tiny black and white television in 1953 in England 🇬🇧 ❤
The English-speaking peoples have been the bulwark and backbone of global democracy, freedom and security for centuries and the UK has a leading role in this with no doubt. Also people living in monarchies are happier. We lost ours back in 1944 because of the communist and military-backed by Stalin coup but Im glad that the UK is still a monarchy and I hope and pray it will remain as such as nothing else gives better continuation than it. Huge respect and long live the King, from your humble NATO ally - Bulgaria!
It is wonderful to see troops from every Dominion marching alongside UK Forces. The last time it happened was in 1953,in the honour of HM Queen Elisabeth the II and during the Korean War.
Looking forward to watching all our military personnel marching and the wonderful music of our armed forces on Saturday. Should be a memorable and very proud moment for all our armed forces on parade
Amazing ! Thank you all men and women in uniforms for your loyalty and strength to serve . All of you ,no matter where you are from, you deserve big salute .
It’s all very well to laud our service men and women, it’s a pity the establishment fail to do the same for them when they become veterans. In all honesty Britain’s grand state occasions would be nothing without the members of the services.
It's only a shame there aren't at least 10,000 on parade. Queen Elizabeth II had more like 30,000 for her coronation procession, with at least 15,000-16,000 of that coming from the British Army by itself. Yes, things are more downscaled now, though 7,000 seems very modest for our population (~70 million) and for the importance of the occasion. They should just 'go for it', and get as many on parade as they possibly can. I refuse to believe 7,000 is the best the UK can do. Such a pity. I'm sure it'll be a grand spectacle all the same, I just think that we should not struggle to have at least 10,000 on parade (especially considering all the Commonwealth representation) Yes, there are thousands of other British personnel doing other duties including lots of security for the event, working alongside the police. However, 7,000 just feels a bit too underwhelming. I thought the same when a similar number marched for the Queen's funeral processions. It's just a bit off. Impressive, but just, off.
There are a lot incidents that have happened recently which have involved the military which might explain why there aren't as many troops, but it still would of looked cooler to have more than 7,000.
Hi again! Any way to get the list of marches played by the bands on the day? Loved the music played; band musician as a student, and military band fan as well. 🎶🎵🎶
The British Armed Forces are not 95,000 strong. You are getting the terminology mixed up. The British Army and the British Armed Forces mean different though related things.
