Over 7,000 troops from UK & Commonwealth in full coronation rehearsal

- Two huge rehearsals have taken place at RAF Odiham to prepare thousands of tri-service personnel for the coronation.
The airfield, located in Hampshire, is home to the UK's Chinook forces and doubled up as the streets of London on Sunday as sailors, soldiers and aviators prepare to take part in the historic event.
The rehearsal marked the largest parade of military personnel since the funeral of Winston Churchill in 1965.

God save the King!!! Im a Filipino in Canada, I cant wait to see this new era!! 🇬🇧🇨🇦🇬🇧🇨🇦

Ontario Firs this era started last Sept when our late Queen died
would you fight for Canada and Britain as a patriot?
"QM I need you to make up some lunch packs for the troops"
"How many, Sir?"
"7000 ought to cover it, Carry on"
As Canadian Army (Armour), ret’d, I know I’d have been immensely proud had I marched in the Coronation Parade. 🇨🇦🇬🇧
My grandfather (a Coldstream Guard at the time) did the Queens coronation. My dad still has all the pictures of the day.
I'm sure there are several hundred Brit squaddies who would happily swap with you mate.
@@sean3691 Nope, the 90s happened at the same time as my teenage years. Started the process, didn't bother finishing it...blacksheep of the family ever since (long military tradition in my family). Sl8ght regrets.

@sean I ended up decorating politicians and celebrities houses not long after so it wasn't all bad 😉

What an antiquated statement
This is going to spectacular!!!!!
One thing I do enjoy about all this events in the UK 🇬🇧 is the marching of service men, and women. They march with such pride ❤
I will be watching this in New Zealand on Saturday night. The last Coronation I watched live was on a tiny black and white television in 1953 in England 🇬🇧 ❤
I used to hate drill when I served in the army, but I wouldn’t of missed this for the world. God save the King 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
Australia awaits with enthusiastic anticipation the coronation of our King , Charles the Third. Hooray
No matter how many times I watch the armed forces marching in parades like this, I will never tire of it! Goosebumps every time!
I can’t imagine trying to coordinate all of this but kudos to everyone
Now imagine coordinating warfare. This is a march in the park.

don't really care for this coronation but definitely love to see our wonderful members of the forces
Those twins had me tripping for a minute thought I was seeing double. They were adorable though.
I bet they create a lot of mischief!
Very impressive. I am looking forward to Saturday. It should be an amazing sight to behold.
The English-speaking peoples have been the bulwark and backbone of global democracy, freedom and security for centuries and the UK has a leading role in this with no doubt. Also people living in monarchies are happier. We lost ours back in 1944 because of the communist and military-backed by Stalin coup but Im glad that the UK is still a monarchy and I hope and pray it will remain as such as nothing else gives better continuation than it. Huge respect and long live the King, from your humble NATO ally - Bulgaria!
Beautiful. Please all stay safe🙏
We don't quite know what the Coronation is going to be like, but we do know that the military parade will be done superbly.
Superbly said, sirrah.

Be proud of your identity the Monarchy is an integral part of what it means to be British!
@言行一致 Mind your own business, if you don’t like British pride.
No one is forcing you to celebrate. You must be so fun at parties…
The monarchy can go straight in the bin, along with the “armed” forces.

cant wait from Australia
It is wonderful to see troops from every Dominion marching alongside UK Forces. The last time it happened was in 1953,in the honour of HM Queen Elisabeth the II and during the Korean War.
Well not quite true. There was a large Commonwealth contingent at the Queens funeral parade. Led out by the Mounties no less.
very cool, looking forward to Saturday 😊
What a magnificent spectacle. Every single platoon, from all countries, can be incredibly proud of themselves. It was a military manoevour that should have been almost impossible to co-ordinate but it was done to perfection. Three cheers for all the troops and police too. Well done to all.
My grandad was on guard under Admiralty Arch for the Queen's Coronation, I'm sure he would have loved to have seen this one.
These men and women did themselves and the country proud, absolutely fantastic display.
A stunning display Ladies and Gentlemen and never to be forgotten
I can't imagine what this must be like. Continued success and happiness to ever citizen.
God Save the King and the Commonwealth.
Its going to be a beautiful Coronation for OUR King.
@facta-non-verba 😂your so annoyingly sad.
Looking forward to watching all our military personnel marching and the wonderful music of our armed forces on Saturday. Should be a memorable and very proud moment for all our armed forces on parade
Horrah, horrah, and more horrah for the commonwealth, all good wishes from new Zealand
7000 strong. Wow!.
Magnificent. But imagine, there were 16,000 at Queen Elizabeth's coronation in 1953.
It should be a great parade by great people!!!
God save the King. This is the very stuff of what makes a nation and a Commonwealth.

Hi again! Any way to get the list of marches played by the bands on the day? Loved the music played; band musician as a student, and military band fan as well. 🎶🎵🎶
No one does fabulous pomp and ceremony like us Brits - whatever your thoughts are on the coronation
Yeah. Not even the Russians

It’s all very well to laud our service men and women, it’s a pity the establishment fail to do the same for them when they become veterans. In all honesty Britain’s grand state occasions would be nothing without the members of the services.
Nobody does it better!!
Probably would have been nice to interview some of the Commonwealth personnel as well as the Brits.

Amazing ! Thank you all men and women in uniforms for your loyalty and strength to serve . All of you ,no matter where you are from, you deserve big salute .
good job, but nearly the entire contingent of the 95,000 strong Armed Forces must be there or in the London area
The British Armed Forces are not 95,000 strong. You are getting the terminology mixed up. The British Army and the British Armed Forces mean different though related things. And the wider armed forces down all service branches, are collectively more than 95,000. Though, granted, they are much reduced compared to previous decades.
Can someone tell us what the marches are call

Good for you, and all good wishes from another commonwealth country new Zealand
🫀I love it 🌱
We used RAF Halton for the Battle of Britain parade I participated in.
It's only a shame there aren't at least 10,000 on parade. Queen Elizabeth II had more like 30,000 for her coronation procession, with at least 15,000-16,000 of that coming from the British Army by itself. Yes, things are more downscaled now, though 7,000 seems very modest for our population (~70 million) and for the importance of the occasion.
They should just 'go for it', and get as many on parade as they possibly can. I refuse to believe 7,000 is the best the UK can do. Such a pity. I'm sure it'll be a grand spectacle all the same, I just think that we should not struggle to have at least 10,000 on parade (especially considering all the Commonwealth representation) Yes, there are thousands of other British personnel doing other duties including lots of security for the event, working alongside the police. However, 7,000 just feels a bit too underwhelming. I thought the same when a similar number marched for the Queen's funeral processions. It's just a bit off. Impressive, but just, off.
There are a lot incidents that have happened recently which have involved the military which might explain why there aren't as many troops, but it still would of looked cooler to have more than 7,000.
@@mehf649 Yes.

Elisabeth Regina, for Queen Elisabeth. You see the same thing on the crests of the Yeoman Warders, aka, the Beefeaters. I imagine this won't change, until the coronation.
Clearly not a large army anymore but at least they still kicking.
