Something neat that I just tested and found out is that if the card is in the Powerplay you can use a USBC-USBC cable straight to your phone to pull clips.
I was always pulling the card, and then using a USBC micro SD adapter thing before.
I still want to do some side by side image comparisons for myself because some of the comparisons that I've seen posted look way worse than the footage I get from mine.

Wow that’s honestly really cool I will definitely pin your comment. And yeah I think the footage looks pretty good. But I’ve only tested it with mini dv cameras

Appreciate you doing this video. Teaching Novices about how to navigate into tapeless without getting "Hustled" by opportunist rich Berkley kids Selling the same setup for almost 1K.

Great Review! Over on r/camcorders they hang people for these, without any pixel peeping the footage you captured looks great. Seems worth the trade off for convenience.

I think the real problem now isn’t people using these, it’s the guys who stick them onto camcorders and then sell the setups for like $900

@WilliamSundvor oh yeah I have seen their social media’s. The fact that they make a compatible av/rca cable and sell them for $45-$70 is mind blowing

@@WilliamSundvor if people choose to buy a dangy it’s on them. I met them, went to an event, they are all super nice guys who found a nice. That said, I scoured eBay myself for cams. I still give them props for the inspiration and not trying to gatekeep.

@sethsherwood5985 yeah just crazy that anyone could buy their setups for so much

Been rocking this for years on my VX2000, It doesn't quite record 4:3 in your editor you have to change the pixel aspect ratio to Pal or NTSC DV to get it looking right.
NEON AIRSHIP has some wicked guides on this recorder on his channel Deff check them out, does a proper deep dive on it

Hey man, can you recommend any good rechargeable batteries for mid 2000s Sony camcorders?

@pumpkinhead5595 I usually buy Kastar batteries I never seem to have an issue with them and they are cheap.
