I was moments from buying the OnePlus 5 , but I decide to just check out competitors. I checked out Samsungs website and they had a trade in deal going on on top of a $100 off that was already active. so I traded in my LG Stylo. and I got the S8 unlocked for $460. I'm happy with my decision.

I went to a convention with my OP5 at 85% battery and was using it constantly and by 2am it still had 45% left. I'm legit impressed with how well this thing takes shots and lasts.

I ordered the OnePlus 5 the day after it released, so I've had some good time with it. And as someone who didn't get a reviewers package, I am really happy with this phone. It runs super smooth and you can run basically every app imaginable with no noticeable slowing of even the highest demanding games. I'm not one for selfies or photographs but after showing it to some more informed on that, they've all been impressed with the quality. I would 100% recommend this phone. As he said in the video though, if you already have a phone like the OnePlus 3T or LG G6 for example, might be better to just stick with that!
This is the way tech reviews should be done. Real life experience. The more I watch "Real day in the life Of" the more I fall in love with your channel. You are doing a great job at your tech reviews. Keep it up.

Thanks UrAvgConsumer! I really enjoyed your video on the OP5. This is the first time I've watched one of your videos and I was impressed with your matter of fact approach to using the phone. I've been rockin' a OP5 since 26 June, and it is one of the best phones I've come across! It's just a great performer in every aspect. I'm not plagued by the jelly affect, so everything is just great with this phone.
The biggest negative (a deal breaker for me) is that you can only quick charge with the one plus included cable and block.
I use a 5-port USB wall charger (with quick charge capability in one port). It gives a longer cord extension to access my devices while charging and allows me to charge multiple devices simultaneously. The other ports charge up to 2A speeds.
The one plus will only charge with 1A speeds no matter which port you use. It takes hours to charge. At least offer the ability to charge at 2A speeds with a 3rd party charger.
The LG g6 is roughly the same price and Imo is a better phone. It is water resistant with a better screen (less bezel) and can use quick charge for 3rd party. It has a much better camera too and has always on display.
When it comes out, can you please do a dope or nope for the Nintendo 2ds xl

Ok so the Oneplus 5 looks real nice. But honestly? You know what I was thinking while watching this video? I wasn't thinking as much about the phone as I was thinking "DAYUM! This guy's GOOD!" This is legit the type of reviews I'd like to see more youtubers do. This gives a proper perspective on what you as a consumer truly think about the phone, and from a point of view anyone can relate to, whether they agree with your opinions or not.

One feature I absolutely love about dash charging is that when your phone Actually dies it's able to turn on right away when it's plugged in. Most phones especially with bigger batteries need to be plugged in for many minutes before they can turn on.

I have read and watched numerous One Plus 5 reviews but none were as experientially orientated as this one. You have done and excellent job and your review pedagogy is superb, please do not change it. I am curious as to how you would compare it, especially the camera to the Samsung Galaxy 6 Edge Plus? I partially agree with you on the difference between 1080p and 2K display. While it's hardly noticeable in photos and videos, it's actually very noticeable in texts. Text looks way more sharper on 2K displays.

The best selfie camera out there at the moment.... Big ups to OnePlus... Both their 3T nd 5 take awesome selfies. Dash charger too is just awesome.
Still rocking the OG OnePlus One. Only thing missing is a fingerprint sensor, really. Everything else is still great--battery, performance, display, etc. I'm on the latest version of Android as well.

Oneplus 5 or LG G6 or ___ ?
Andrew 213 so far this year, the LG G6 is tied for best with S8 Plus imo. OP5 is too gimicky. the good specs are really good, but the bad specs are REALLY BAD. I don't think it's worth the $500 tag to be honest. you might has well save up $200 more and get a real flagship. if it was $400 maybe it'd be worth it

If you can get the G6 with the DAC for a good price I'd say go for that. If it's the Wireless charging version it's still a decent phone cause of how cheap you can get it. The only downside is that the G6 has the 821 and less RAM, but I'd say G6 just for the screen size.

Finally! I was waiting for your video. First of all, I already decided on buying the OP5 but your video validated it. I currently have the S4 mini, so it can only be better. Also I never felt the need for water resistance anyway. The missing SD slot was a concern for 30 sek, until I found out that it hase 128GB of integrated memory.
I'm glad to hear that the camera is so good.
Did you get the chance to play pokermonGO with it? It would be nice to know how long the battery lasts then... but I'll find out in a month, once I finally buy it.

OnePlus makes a legit phone. Love my 3T. Dash charge is something you'll hate to be without once you get used to it. You don't need SD card slot because the native storage is mammoth. Also, with an OTG USB-C to USB 3.0 female cable, you can connect your USB flash drives to the phone in a pinch.
