Hello lovely friends. In case you’re confused by the fact that the well-drilling truck drove off in the last video yet appears here, just to explain the footage isn’t live time. I’m catching up after returning to the UK and going straight into a busy week at work. Noel is still busy at The Hidden House and sending me videos of everything he’s getting up to. So over the next few weeks I’ll be editing and uploading everything on my phone to share with you: It may be out of sequence but now you know why. Thanks for all your support, and for sticking with us and watching the videos. We really appreciate it. Love and hugs - Jill & Noel ❤️❤️❤️🏡
The birdsong in the morning: one of my very favorite things.❤ Draws me nearer to God. I can envision you enjoying your outdoor space, home conpleted,... & the birds singing your praises. 😉 Hope this finds you well, dearest Jill. Your video has brought a smile to my heart.
You were having a nice, sunny day or two. I was holding my breath watching all that roof work! It's really great that Sid helps so much and seems to be invested in this place too - not always the case with teenagers!
Oh Jill, how lovely to be able to pick Blueberries growing wild, envious! Your vlogs really do cheer me up, I love seeing the progress, Sid has made such a good job of the stone work, it looks amazing and isn't he handsome, we don't get to see his face very often amongst that beautiful mane. The chimney is down at last! I have heard that it's essential to keep the fire going in these old stone cottages to maintain the heat in the walls and because they were usually damp it helped to keep things dry. It takes a good three days to bring the heat back after the fire has been extinguished. You are very fortunate to have escaped from the chaos here. Envious again! 😂❤❤
@@patkilmurray4702 I am actually back in the UK now Pat if you’re referring to the riots. Thanks fully it seems to have calmed down somewhat. It’s a world away from our little retreat in the forest. @@carolynhoover9444 Hey Carolyn, I too am afraid of heights, that’s why I only climbed to the gutter level. And yes, the blueberries were a nice surprise. 😊👍❤️
Just a couple more ideas for using those plastic bottles for you. 1. Cut the bottoms off and use them like a cloche over your seedlings acts like a mini greenhouse. 2. Cut some holes in the sides and use them like a hanging basket for strawberries or trailing cherry tomatoes. That should use some of them up 😂
@@Tracys_Little_Patch_of_Dirt Great idea, love that. We plan to have a large poly tunnel so they could easily be used that way. We’ll store them in the shipping container in the meantime. 🙌👍
Those bottles would be ideal as cloches for your new cannabis tunnel 😉🤣 That chimney was a stubborn fecker, i remember when we took ours down, they would compiled of concrete blocks, so came off a little easier. I hope you had a safe journey back to the UK x
Thank you lovely, I’ve been back in Cornwall for two weeks now which has just flown by as I was back at work the next day. Slightly jealous of your beautiful kitchen, but the caravan has made a world of difference and I worry less about Noel knowing he’ll go into autumn with heat and lighting and a cosy bed. As soon as ESB connects us we’ll prioritise wifi so he can get the footage to me more easily. Take care and love and hugs to you and Rob. Xxx 🙌🥂❤️

why are you destroying the chimneys? thought you were keen on the fireplaces & a wood stove/heater? i thought the chimneys gave the old girl character; what are your plans here, can't have a cottage without a wood stove or heater? enjoying the vlogs & loving the walls being exposed thanx for sharing
Hi Selina, the cottage the way it was did look sweet from the bottom of the lane, but up close they were ugly concrete blocks - no architectural beauty or merit worth preserving. If chimneys aren’t used regularly they become buckets collecting water that can only go one way… To avoid a leaky roof they require ongoing maintenance with re-pointing etc. We’re creating a low maintenance home to take us into old age. The wood burner will have a pipe flue (think cabin in the woods), which will be easier to seal and make waterproof. 😊🙌🏡
I don’t know who said you can’t take them to the recycling place because they take plastics bottles at ours Great video Silly question why not just buy 12 tegral slates and 2 ridges as you will have the worry off that blowing off if the wind gets underneath that sheet
Not much really Raymond. It will dry up and then get covered with pencil (shale) at the end. There’ll be more mess probably once the trucks come for the foundation and new build extension, but eventually we’ll get it nice again. 😊🏡
Ye were talking about an open turf fire.. ye should consider a back boiler to heat the rads and water etc.. cost effective and if ye plant trees now in some of your available land ye will have wood in years to come
@@theredhairedchild944 We definitely want a wood burning stove for ambience, but the main heating will be from ground source or air source heat pump (haven’t decided which yet). We will lay underfloor heating to maintain a constant temperature to prevent chill and damp. Having loved o lots of period properties we know about the challenges of damp too well and have made it a priory to invest in preventative measures this time: 😊🙌
