"Una delle voci più irresistibili che abbia mai ascoltato in vita mia, un flusso dal quale farsi trascinare senza paura, alla scoperta della natura stessa della musica, dell'ambiente, dell'emozione... Un artista che sembra stia cantando proprio lì di fianco a te, nella tua stanza"

noHiPSTER hates the concept of musical "genre" and rejects it. The only existing genre is the artistic one, all the others (pop, rock, jazz, etc,) are label limiting in most cases even a simple approach to music. Genres are anachronistic and tied to market trends, this website is not interested in it. Even so, in order to avoid confusion and disorientation in the exploration of the multitude of products you can listen to in this website, we propose a different type of classification. We believe that every work carries an emotional load and an experience. There are albums which fit into a situation, and albums which fit into an other! Albums suited to an intimate mood, "sociable" albums. Any of this situations is approximately synthesized, in this website, with COLORS. They don't express a taste or a style, but the emotion we felt while listening to an album.
Good Music
MI have listened to this album hundreds(?:!) of times and I still get thrills with the first words "The real people - went away..."
The music is breathing, atmospheric, light and powerful.A real masterpiece.Thank you Bill for this work of art!
Merci merci merci pour ce folk ombrageux et lumineux
Bill Callahan, had him on a cassette , but never new who it was , this one track taped from a radio show, this distinct musical baritone sometimes tenor voice singing in and out of normal verse structures, , and then I found him ,,. god I love B . C.
chris park yer i have a similar story heard him late one night bout 14 years ago on late night tv called rage, i found him eventually, so so nice
Bill Callahan you shore ain't no hipster. Love you!
I am reminded of Scott Walker .. nice album.
Have been listening to Bill Callahan for a few months. "One Fine Morning" stands out for me on this. A beautiful tune interesting lyrics. Good album though requires a few listens to appreciate.
Something about the use of metaphor and imagery that links him to Bob Dylan, Dylan Thomas and William Blake. God its so powerful.
21 ppl need to chill out--y even bother being negative about art--if it's not ur thing, just move on...Bill's going to be enlightening the world with his music no matter what! Cheers
this stuff is awesome guy is a legend
Introduced to this by Mixmaster Morris. Love it more every time!
this i love 💙
A me, invece ha sempre ricordato Lou Reed.. Comunque, grande artista, il nostro Smog!
Love Bill C.
Just heard of him on the Day of the Dead Grateful Dead album. Very interesting.
Is this the best Bill Callahan album? I think Drover might be his best song, and considering his catalogue, that is saying something. One Fine Morning is a perfect way to close as well.
superb
Why is he so damn good? It's not right.
Such a voice!
Just discovering this guy. Like his tone. Very cool!
he seems to improve with age like a good wine. Just listening after quite a long hiatus. The baritone sounds even better now
such a good album
As a fan of Mark Lanegan, I sincerely approve. The two need to pair up.
too late
Shit! That would have been magestic!
anyone else think that "wine stained lips" is one of his best songs... along with "ambition" ?
Very interesting!
mi "apocalypse" de la temporada, qué me importa que haya sido hace mucho, va y vuelve, cíclico, atemporal.
I hear a little Arthur Russell on this record
I wish I could listen on Spotify...
nice
I love this guy. Fucken grouse.
His voice reminds me so much of John Lurie
Oooooh...... I don't know him.... Gonna jump on a rabbit hole! BRB! 😌
Is that pause on 20 seconds into Baby's Breath deliberate? I bought the cd and I have the same pause, I thought it was a scratch or something.
+jeanperiquito I think it is
Check out Modest Mouse's Edit the Sad Parts. There is a very long pause at the end of song. Like 2 minutes I think. Some say it's the sad parts he "forgot" to edit.
Any song this well produced, and an artist such as Bill would only be deliberate.
Post-apocalyptia never sounded sooo good.
……….
I'm surprised The Walking Dead never used any of his songs...
