I learned how to do the basket weave pattern from this tutorial by Hey Carrie.

I love that you did the basket weave and that it’s neutral. I love the patchwork style cardigans but they’re so bright it’s just too much for me, this came out gorgeous!!

You can make it any color you want. I'm making a black one with white trim and white sleeve blocks.

I love how you demonstrate and discuss all your steps. I am making my first cardigan and this is very helpful. I decided to use three colors instead of four (coffee, latte, and cream). The only other change I made is instead of doing a dc at the very end of the row, I do a hdc. I find that this makes the ends look a bit tidier imo. I will also launder (in a mesh laundry bag) the finished squares to make the acrylic yarn I used a bit softer and more flexible. I am half way through making my squares and can't wait to have the finished product. Thanks so much for this video, it really inspired me to start this project.

I started this same pattern but I made it just slightly bigger. This pattern is so much fun! I love the weight of the basketweave stitch and I wanted it to be more of a duster! I love this pattern! When i finish it I will post a photo for you! I am 30yo and have been crocheting for 21 years and learning new things over time but this will be the first cardigan/sweater I have ever done! So excited!
I want to do half double squares how big are the dimensions of squares
@@sellyloomscreations7159 3.5 by 4 using a 4.25mm hook. The overall size is a lot smaller than I initially measured....Im a little sad rn lol

I don't know how to explain it, but this video made crochet click for me. I've been trying to learn for weeks and haven't been able to get it, I was ready to just drop it and move on to something easier but I decided to follow along with this just to try and I actually managed to do it successfully. Maybe it was your camera angle or just your way of explaining that was different, but it worked! Thank you :)

This is so gorgeous! I want to recreate it but without the basketweave pattern since I'm a complete beginner. I was wondering - could you tell me the dimensions of the squares so I can try to get them the same size?
So if you use similar yarn and crochet hook, the squares should measure about 12cm or about 4 1/2 inches. That's how long mine were. Hope this helps!

hey, I'm making this rn for a friend and i was trying to figure out how many squares of each color you made, I was trying to count but i have bad eyes and couldn't tell the colors apart.
