- Here I am comparing Metroid Prime 4 to Halo 5. Why? Well because it was a better match than Halo infinite due to the environments being vastly different... I found this comparison a lot of fun and if you'd like another Metroid and halo standoff then comment below, I'll compare another for you.

Posted a Metroid Prime 1 vs Halo Combat Evolved comparison for those interested, go to my channel and check it out. Tell me what you think!
Fun fact, there are some former halo devs that worked on Prime 4
Halo 5 is going to look better because its made for hardware closer to the switch 2. but its interesting to see the switch hold its own here.
you're right though It's very interesting to see how close switch 1 got to Halo 5 in the areas it did, I mean prime 4 looking modern enough to get people having these kind of conversations is fascinating for switch hardware to say the least.
damn Metroid prime 4 looks great... but the xbox just has too much power behind it relative to the switch. still think Metroid will be a far superior game though
Let’s face it, when push comes to shove, Halo would kill Metroid in 1 on 1 combat any day of the week.
An ancient megastructure designed to kill everything with a nervous system in an entire galaxy versus one single translucent floating parasite ball? Wow... who would've guessed?
There's a lot more intricate detail in Halo 5 but Metroid works hard with it's art style, it's to the point that Halo 5 just doesn't look like it's on hardware 4x the power of the Switch.
Couldn't have worded it better myself and It appears they've even went a step further with this than prime remastered. However it's been done. It certainly gives off the appearance of much higher graphics fidelity than other games on the platform..
Now imagine what the Next Metroid will look like With Switch 2 being 4x more powerful than Xbox one. Either way I would like to see a game starring both protagonist.
@@RyzenZegend Yeah that rumored 4 Teraflops and dlss whatever version would be a multi generational jump for Nintendo. I can't even begin to imagine what kinda graphics potential we're talking, it'd at least be on par with Series S in terms of GPU power, maybe even more ram than it... lol I would like to see that crossover happen, but I'd feel bad that Master Chief would have to beat up on Samus in combat. I grew up with Metroid so no bias I promise lol, it's just nobody can beat Chief... nah seriously though I wish we could see that happen too.
@@Emerald-Bearer 🤣🤣🤣 Your right Master Chief is a Beast.
The problem with xbox exclusives has never been the graphics, But art style...
Remember people criticised gears 4 and 5 graphics until horizon forbidden west used same art style that gears 5 hivebusters did but got more appreciation..
The best example for this is gears 3, gears judgement day and halo 4...great art style... I don't get why xbox doesn't stick to halo 4 art style..
Metroid Prime (2002): Looks up and sees rain drops hit the visor.
Halo Reach (2010): Looks up, no rain drops on visor.
Both games are incredible, but I admire Metroid Prime more because of the attention to detail.
This is genuinely a great comparison and I'm glad to see it. Especially for the people old enough to remember that going all the way back to the early 2000s, Metroid Prime and Halo have ALWAYS been compared in conversation. Even with the short trailer we were given you can see just how much Retro Studios is pushing the Switch. To a limit most people probably didn't think was possible. Metroid Prime 4: Beyond hype is real! lol
People who worked on halo 4 worked on prime 4.
Nintendo of America and 343 also share the same location: Redmond. While Bungie is located at Bellevue in the same state.
@@CarbyGuuGuuFun fact! Jennifer Hale also voiced a character in Halo! Lol She's the voice of Samus in the Metroid Prime series.
That is NOT a good sign for prime 4
@@federicoricca2512 Prime 4 will be the final above and beyond AAA passion project we will see in our generation. Only a fool would not buy it.
@@MrEpicAndroid truer words have never been spoken
iirc some people that worked on the older Metroid Prime games also worked at 343 on Halo 5 (probably 4 as well), also all the promethean knights pretty much have Samus' ship attached on their backs.
ATTENTION: I Re-uploaded this comparison but using uncompressed full 60fps Prime 4 trailer footage, showcasing Metroid Prime 4's full visual fidelity! Go to my channel to check it out and Thanks for the feedback! 😃
Metroid has style to spare, Halo is just a game...

i dont why but this makes me so happy
Just imagine Nintendo and their patience and level of detail witj hardware like the ps5 and xbox sx.
If only most Western studios had the patience of Nintendo studios, only because they’re being held back by the intentions of corporate.
Tell me you've never played Metroid without telling me you've never played Metroid :/
I think comparison with halo 4 would be better.. Halo 5 is worst looking halo game and halo infinite has hardware advantage..
Not same at all. Youre reaching tbh.
Compare Titanfall 2 First level with Metroid. It's very similar!
good idea!
Did the Switch just out do the Xbox 👀
No, Metroid's devs outdid Halo's devs.
Halo 5 came out a decade ago 😂
Both system and games sales too 😂
Halo moar liek gaylo amirite guys
In case you didn't know, Retro Studios hired some of the co-developers who worked on Halo as well as some who worked on other major titles. Prime 4 also runs on the same engine as The Last of Us part 1.
Oh yes Kyle Hefley I know of in particular! He was the lead character designer from 4,5, and infinite. to my understanding.. which I think I think it shows too and I mean that in the most positive way. The suits from all those games are spectacular
"Same engine as TLOU Part 1" what?
they hired all types of people i think they even got some guys from star wars battle front and cod if i rememeebr correctly
Yeah they also hired some hentai artists from e621 for the interactive Metroid scenes and got Jacksepticeye to voice-act for Sylux
" Prime 4 also runs on the same engine as The Last of Us part 1." No, Prime 4 is using the Prime Remastered engine, which is just a heavily upgraded Prime OG engine, aka also the Donkey Kong engine, aka what is internally known as their proprietary 'RUDE' engine. Look up on UA-cam 'details of retro studios game engine'.
At this point it's tradition for Metroid to mog Halo's graphics
Good idea for a video, not a fair comparison though.
The video you used for Halo 5 is running at 60FPS, while the one for Prime 4 is running at 30FPS.
Also the encode on Prime 4 is worse, so it looks much more blurrier.
Anyway, Halo 5 wins of course, since is running in a console with higher specs than the Switch.
Halo 4, on the other hand, looks similar, but with worse resolution and framerate (30 vs 60).
Would've certainly been nice to capture Prime 4 like I could Halo 5, but with what we do have available at the moment. I still figured it'd make for a fun comparison.. but yes everyone should take all your points into account when watching this.... Halo 4 was my first choice actually, but I thought I'd set the bar a little higher, give it a "how close did it get" approach.
Metroid Prime 4 runs at 60fps on Switch. The conclusion to make is that Retro Studios is amazing with software performance
@@Emerald-Bearer But the official trailer is at 60FPS! I think you picked another video where the framerate is capped at 30FPS.
@@daftcruz Well thanks for telling me. I hope you liked it otherwise!
Yeah the official trailer for Metroid is 60fps and nice and clear
Of course Halo 5 looks far more detailed, hell Halo 4 still looks good and that game came out in 2012. Prime Beyond is good but in no way comparable Halo Reach-Halo 4 would be a better fit.
you know.... graphic wise. halo 5 actually looks way better than infinite. For example look at the holographic counter on the AR. Then compare it to the holo sights on some of the rifles in infinite. The ones in HI look like stickers. not lights.
resident evil 2 remake vs resident evil 6
I REALLY hate that Midi chorus fanfare. It feels too much like Cadence of Hyrule. It doesn't fit the tone.
Feel halo 4 would make even more sense for comparison
I considered it heavily but went with 5 in the end.
@@Emerald-Bearer what changed your mind?
@@Owen_005 was curious how close it'd come. I always thought Prime Remaster looked close to halo 4 so prime 4 having some improvement over that, I figured that alone built some justification for stacking up against Halo's next game in line.
Damn imagine what a Metroid Prime title could look on a PS5 or Xbox Series X power
Halo 5 was so bad. From the nothing story, to the terrible boss encounter that they copied & pasted throughout the campaign, to the large but often empty levels, it just didn't deliver on a single thing outside of graphics and combat.
What'd you think about character personalities in it and do you think the characters motives were still interesting in it? I only ask because Halo 5 was the first one I actually finished the campaign of and it alone did actually make me a fan of the series. I found master chief to be extremely cool and the whole idea of the spartans, the factions within it all, lots of drama was going down with Chief and Cortana that I was all of a sudden being introduced to.. back in the day I had only ever played multiplayer in halo, so I don't have a 20 year connection to the campaigns that someone like you probably has...anyways I'm just curious as to why it got me into the series, while the really big halo fans strongly disliked it, like maybe you'd still think the characters are cool and interesting?, aside from not liking the story of Halo 5 or just about anything else..
art direction goes a long way, but I must say I'm pretty disappointed with how Metroid Prime 4 looks compared to what I think the Metroid series could look like based on present day technological advancements with rendering on better hardware.
It is Xbox 360 tier hardware, can’t expect miricales
Literally what did you expect be glad it looks comparable to Halo 5
Nintendo fanboys will tell you Prime 4 looks like the most breathtaking game out there. there's no getting to them that their long awaited game looks like a GameCube remake game
Very delusional from you to think Nintendo fans care about graphics.
You're gonna eat those words when the game comes out
@@giornogiostar3214 Not graphics, performance.
