Never thought of that. Every instance of using the thermal visor was in the dark or finding door switches. That boss fight was in broad daylight and didn't have much leading to it that lead me to believe the thermal visor was the solution. Though I could see it when the fog sets in. I'm also a bit dumb 😅
Just discovered this video but I heard you say Blizzard made the cutscenes for halo 2 at 3:00 I thought Blur Studios made the cutscenes? Or are they connected with Blizzard and I’m just dumb for not knowing that.
So you made a mistake in Metroid prime Thardus you said you just shoot at it till you expose his week spot. What you are suppose to do is use the thermal visor to show his weak spots…
Yeah, someone else let me know about that, too. Never even thought about it. It makes sense now, but up to that point, I didn't see any that would lead me to believe I had to use it. Thanks for watching!
Okay, I just got through the halo 2 portion and I disagree with you about the movement and only needing precision weapons to kill covenant. The arenas you fight in are built around master chief's speed and floaty mechanics, so it never felt like I was going too slow. Also, the larger areas always have a vehicle in them since the only big areas are used for vehicle comat. When it comes to the necessity of precision weapons like the battle rifle and the carbine, that really applies to legendary since most of the enemies can kill you in under a second. I would recommend using weapons that are better for specific types of enemies, like how you can use a charged plasma shot from the plasma pistol to instantly disable all shields for elites and jackals.
More often than not, vehicles felt like the wrong choice since they were incredible squishy, and taking on 3 ghosts compared to your 1 was hopeless. And when i used vehicles with mountes weapons (warthogs) i had the choice to be driven around by the god awful AI of friendly soldiers or relying on their ability to shoot something long enough to kill it or actually hit the mark (they did not) And it's not like other weapons were useless like I said I'd rather use precision weapons than die 15 times trying something else. Out of all the weapons, it was the precision weapons that were the most consistant on getting kills and survivability based on most power weapons not being as powerful as they should be. Yes, the plasma pistol can insta break shields, but only if you can land the charge shot and when you're surrounded by 5 elites and 15 grunts charge shots are not worth the effort.
@superduper160 No worries, my guy. I love talking about game design and hearing others' perspectives and opinions on games. I could go on for hours. Plus, it means a lot that you watched the video, so thank you 😊
@GalicEnder By the way, could you tell me why you think the halo 2 anniversary multiplayer isn't very good? I've never played it, so it would be interesting to hear why you dislike it.
@GalicEnder I simply think that advanced movement doesn t belong in halo It adds an unnecessary layer of gameplay because if the levels are designed around that set movement speed you don t need ways to move faster, in fact reach nerfed player speed and jump to incentivate both sprint and jetpack Also (quote from the designer) sprint is bad because during the animation you can t shoot, throw granades or melee (the golden triangle of the combat) and in a game that it s all about engadgement you don t need ways to run away. Also while you were sayng that halo is slow you showed a veichle section (and you were on foot) so i really don t see your point, literally i never felt the need of going at an higher speed in the og trilogy I also thinks that it ruins multyplayer map design and makes everyone play like it s cod so devalueting team play Also you criticesed the guns saying that non precision weapons are useless, and i see you point but at least do you know that plasma is meant to damages shield and bullets are better against fleshes? Seriously even on leggendary on every game you can quickly melt every rank of elites if you combine them. On one thing you are 100% right heroic isn t at all the best way because since everything runs at twice the speed (60 fps instead of 30 so enemy shoots way faster) of the originals it becomes really hard for non vets players to keep up
@a.p.3192 Wow! Thank you for taking the time to write this. I'll try to respond just as well. 1st thing movement. You brought up a good point on how other options like sprinting can get in the way of shooting, that makes sense to me, and I can see how that concept has bled into the original halo trilogy. However, granted, it's been a while since I've played this, I remember multiple battles where enemies were perched high up, and a lack of basic options like a ledge grab made the fights feel unnecessarily tedious. And I still believe that the base speed could be increased just a little bit. But I respect your viewpoint. I know my main gripe was that crossing large spots land took forever, and you said it was because I was not using vehicles. Yes I remember vehicles being available at those moments but using them felt like the wrong choice to me because they were so squishy and more often than not I found myself surviving more going without a vehicle than using one. A large part of that was playing on heroic but you brought up an interesting point on how the frame rate made battles seem more difficult than they should so I wonder if revisiting this game with a frame cap of 30 FPS would change that 🤔. It might also change my viewpoint on the weapons. And I'll be the first to admit, this was not one of my finer videos, some parts were written out of anger, and I straight missed and or didn't realize certain mechanics of both these games that would probably improve my experience. It's been the main reason I've been hesitant to bring back game bracket specifically. But some people in this comment section, you included, have offered some interesting perspectives and points that are making me want to revisit Halo 2 and see if my opinion changes. Im a huge fan of 3 and reach. So it could be fun, we'll see how that plays out.
Buddy you are supposed to use the thermal visor against Thardus to find his red rock weak spots which then after it will turn blue
Never thought of that. Every instance of using the thermal visor was in the dark or finding door switches. In familiar with the studio. I can understand why you think I said it like that base off how I said it. But it's supposed to be a metaphor

Halo 2 is perfect
Why do you think that?
