- The Jesus Lizard played the Side Door (St. Louis) on 2/7/1998. The Stanford Prison Experiment opened the show. The Lepers TV crew had three cameras filming with two SM57 mics and a line feed from the board for audio. All of this was edited live to a SVHS deck. Note: we had technically difficulty towards the end of the set and lost the video feeds from the front two cameras.
Best live band I've ever seen. Been a fan since Scratch Acid.
You seem a bit young for that

Fuckin cool how Duane is wearing a Melt-Banana shirt, cool to see. Also, Jim is such an interesting drummer. They fucking kill. Thank you for uploading
Thank you very much!
@@jameskimball5152saw you guys when I was 19 at The Rubb in Tampa Fl on this tour. Got thrown out on my head onto 7th Ave by a 300lb bouncer cuz I grabbed a pair of your sticks that were on the ground when you guys were walking off stage. I still have one of em. I loved what you did on Blue & the stuff with Duane. Hope you’re well & still making music man.
@jolemite2639 thank you very much!!!
Soft Damage is a really cool number. Exactly the song that comes to mind when discussing the '90s.
Melt Banana before they were cool!
Yow used my head as a launchpad at the start of "Sea Sick" at this show! I love that you can see him evaluating his options right before he planted a hand on my head and flipped himself into the audience. Ah, memories.
Right on!
"launchpad" 😂
Jim Kimball on drums here. Loved his work w/ Thirlwell and FOETUS INC as well around this time and
95. He looks like Tom Hanks and Quinton Tarantino had a kid. That jawline is like a whole other drum imo….Champion underbite y’all 😂
Outstanding.
Man, what a group. Saw them in 91 and 92, 96, and then in 98. When I walked in and saw Kimball playing, goddamn, what a dream, the obvious replacement dream. Saw him in Hyenas many times, what an incredible player.
Eric Pikoritis.. I miss u bro
awesome
I didn’t realize Jim from the hyenas played in Jesus lizard
Wow 😳! I am surprised and delighted to see Jim pull off "Thumb Screw's". He isn't hitting as hard as Mac, but it's still pretty rad🤘
David was the sweatiest person I ever touched. Must have had the worst muscle cramps jolting him from his slumbers.
Probably about equal to when I slapped Iggy Pop on his sweaty back while he was surfing the crowd. Very sweaty guy
Unless they played another show at the side door around 1997/98 i'm pretty sure i was @ this show.
muy bueno
No Mac on drums. You can tell. No offense to Kimball, but Mac is a force back there. For me TJL has been about Sims's crunching bass grooves
Awesome!
Best live band ever!
Love how the band just play like Yow isn’t there. Basically… yeah he’s a lunatic we know 😂
higher level
Apsoštrumpfno!
Drummer from Laughing Hyenas. A worthy “replacement” for Mac.
Jim Kimball!
Thank you for your very kind words!!!
@@jameskimball5152 Are you actually Jim Kimball?.
Yes.
@@jameskimball5152 OMG you're one of my heroes. You're drumming is underappreciated, you're an absolute legend.
Lil bit of a no means no vibe
Another phenomenal band!
A lot of great shows in that room. This is one of the best!
