    I played quarterback (briefly) in high school, and it is almost like magic: when you are blindsided, you end up on the ground completely unaware of where and why. It's one of the few remaining rules that allow mayhem, because no one is ever more vulnerable than a QB on the blindside. That's why the left offensive tackle is the most important lineman of all...

      @@christianokoye576 blindside hits actually tend to not hurt as much as you'd think. You don't see them coming, so you're body is way more relaxed than if you were to see it coming. Energy moves through relaxed tissue way more efficiently than tensed up tissue.

    The sheer violence of the shot doesn't nullify the proper technique. Proper and LEGAL technique is authored as protocol to account for violent collisions.

    You can't have a "Quarterbacks Getting Destroyed" video without a single Lawrence Taylor hit. If you watched one of LT's highlight videos, you would see most of the hits in this video are tame in comparison. LT was ferocious. He changed the game forever and QB's we're terrified of him.

      Besides, every one of those qbs got a free ride to a division one college and have millions of dollars. If they can't handle a full contact sport, they can retire and live in the real world like the rest of us

      this the most under-rated comment on here. THAT's the reason you had to have the pendulum swing waaaay the other way with protecting qbs. Knocking out the other teams starting QB and ushering Steve DeBerg or Mike Tomczak into the game was the shortest path to victory and if it was a division rival? even more lasting effects. 15 yards and 25K fine didn't mean shit if Brady was in a cast or Drew Brees was concussed, the defense would accept that result every time. That mentality is why the QBs are treated like glass today. The NFL had no choice.

      They talk about either a lot, and the QB is the only offensive position who is mostly a sitting duck with minimal movement (5-step drops, stay in the pocket). I mean maybe the OL move less but those are trees, not sticks.

      @@nopainnogain7776 I don't agree with that. Sliding is very tricky and is an awful situation for any defender. You cannot simply stop your body in mid dive and you can't read people's mind to know if they are gonna slide or not. What if Flacco kept going and Alonso didn't hit him cause he thought he was gonna slide? Flacco would be in the end zone. Alonso did his job and stopped him. He slid late right into Alonso as well. These slides need to be evaluated and given better clarity.

The Bills got this big hit and one 31-0 victory against him when he was the starter for NE. Brady made sure for the rest of his matchups against the Bills that those were the only two moments the Bills got one over on him. Brady has an incredible memory, I imagine he thought of those two moments before each matchup with them from that point on.

    I'll never forget the first one you showed here. This was in a playoff game and the Chiefs recovered the fumble...except the refs said Mariota's forward progress had stopped. The fumble was reversed and Tennessee went on to win the game by one point. 😠
