Very true. I don't think a QB was ever more 'destroyed' than Theisman was by LT. But most of those clips would be LT knocking the hell out of Jaworski.
this the most under-rated comment on here. THAT's the reason you had to have the pendulum swing waaaay the other way with protecting qbs. Knocking out the other teams starting QB and ushering Steve DeBerg or Mike Tomczak into the game was the shortest path to victory and if it was a division rival? even more lasting effects. 15 yards and 25K fine didn't mean shit if Brady was in a cast or Drew Brees was concussed, the defense would accept that result every time. That mentality is why the QBs are treated like glass today. The NFL had no choice.
This video should start and end with Tracy Scroggins of the Luons hitting Mike Tomczak Pittsburgh in 95. It's the game that Rod Woodson blew out his knee trying to tackle Barry Sanders in week one... and he came back to play in the SB that year...very impressive.
Eventually the rules will be you can only kindly ask the quarterback to sit on the ground to get a sack. It’s gotten totally ridiculous what draws a flag now
I agree but some of these hits in here absolutely shouldn’t be legal. The hit on Schaubb is one of the worst. Intentionally aiming for a man’s head when he has an entire body you can tackle shouldn’t be legal. Banning low tackles and hip drop tackles is stupid but the head should be protected

Dude the other team should’ve been on his side why tf u tryna kill him he’s going down!! He should be benched for that along with any other dirty players thatts really fucked up those players have wives and kids and your gonna try to give them mental problems cause u wanna prove you can hit someone real hard. Like bruh go hit the fucking running back like that how come they don’t cheap shot dudes like marshawn!!??
@@nopainnogain7776 I don't agree with that. Sliding is very tricky and is an awful situation for any defender. You cannot simply stop your body in mid dive and you can't read people's mind to know if they are gonna slide or not. What if Flacco kept going and Alonso didn't hit him cause he thought he was gonna slide? Flacco would be in the end zone. Alonso did his job and stopped him. He slid late right into Alonso as well. These slides need to be evaluated and given better clarity.
Bro, Matt Schaub probably took the hardest hit of all time. Those angles they showed looked so brutal.
3:09 the only reason why eli manning will be a hall of famer is because he did not miss a single game with an injury and took hits like that with a horrible offensive line (maybe his 2 super bowl game-winning drives as well, and the nfc champ games)

that hit on Eli Manning was the best hit, can't stop laughing
You can't have a "Quarterbacks Getting Destroyed" video without a single Lawrence Taylor hit. If you watched one of LT's highlight videos, you would see most of the hits in this video are tame in comparison. LT was ferocious. He changed the game forever and QB's we're terrified of him.
Very true. I don't think a QB was ever more 'destroyed' than Theisman was by LT. But most of those clips would be LT knocking the hell out of Jaworski.
Can't believe they don't have LT ending Joe Thiesman's career or either Leonard Marshall or Jim Burt demolishing Joe Montana.
ok. I get the ones when a qb is sliding and you hit his helmet. but most of these are what football is all about. hard hits.
lots of em are helmet to helmet

3:07 Laying the Smackdown! Looked like a very innovative tag team move.. 😂
Amazing compilation. I love this.
That first hit was absolutely beautiful. It was like a straight punch knockout.
Ref: "15 yard penalty, roughing the passer."
Defender after seeing the QB laying helplessly on the ground: "WORTH IT."
this the most under-rated comment on here.
I can’t stand it when a QB is running and they slide and the defense player is expected to defy gravity and physics and stop their dive mid dive
A lot of the time it's the defenders fault who had time to back off and not go for the head
Then go watch basketball cupcake

That hit on Shaub was insane
It takes guts to stand out in the open like that knowing you might get destroyed
Love when peppers and Briggs destroyed Roger's.
I enjoyed watching Brady and Favre get leveled.
They have to be more careful hitting the owner of their team like that . . .
Those roughing the passer calls are such bullshit
@@BrocKelley Some of them are dirty but for the most part these are clean. Concussions are part of the game. You see how much the NFL try to protect quarterbacks but Lamar and Mahomes had both suffered from an concussion in the playoffs

One of the worst calls in history. They just made up a rule.
Chiefs blew so many playoff games with Alex smith and Andy Reid ; could’ve had a few more rings maybe ! If they didn’t blow that game in Indianapolis lol
0:12 Say what you want about Brady, but most QBs are leaving in a stretcher after this much less clapping and setting up for the next snap.
The clock was still rolling 😆 Brady on autopilot
Brady never gave satisfaction. His bell was rung alot and he always popped right back up. I remember so many people trying to say he was a pretty boy wussy. 😅
damn Brady took that hit like champ
yea brady likes it while these qb's whines and get injured
I'm sure it wouldn't have happened against Lawrence Taylor and the 80s Giants.

he actually led the league in rushing td's for like 2 weeks believe it or not
Took that hit like a champ though. Got right back up and kept playing.
brady still scramble, and brady doesnt get hurt like all these other weak qb's
Look back at film from the 70s at what they did to QBs and you will have a whole new appreciation for guys like Terry Bradshaw and Roger Staubach.
That hit on Burrow was absolutely clean.
Terrible call.
The sheer violence of the shot doesn't nullify the proper technique. Proper and LEGAL technique is authored as protocol to account for violent collisions.
Dude got cheated.
Next policy is going to be a ban on how much defenders can lift in the gym and for how long.
Was the penalty Roughing the Passer or Unnecessary Roughness?
One of these is called a lot more than the other. Doesn't make it any less stupid (Tom Brady literally being touched is bar none the worst call in the history of football)

Non-QB gets hits: and he is brought down
QB takes same hit: By Gawd, he killed him, he killed him! As gawd as mah witness, he is broken in half!!
They talk about either a lot, and the QB is the only offensive position who is mostly a sitting duck with minimal movement (5-step drops, stay in the pocket). I mean maybe the OL move less but those are trees, not sticks.

The NFL has made it so that you can't play defense anymore. Recently, they made it so that you can't even return a kickoff.
And the flags...the penalties. Holy shit...
