This is a very popular Christmas song, although relatively recent (early '90s?). It's been covered by a number of a cappella groups, including Home Free and Voctave (who include the song's lyricist in their version). Both of those versions are definitely worth a listen. There's one thing about this arrangement from PTX that is easy to miss upon first hearing it (I know it took me several listens to figure it out) - there's a "mirror" of the voices for the first two verses, from lower range (baritone + bass) to higher range (soprano + tenor) singers. I don't remember ever hearing PTX do exactly this same thing in any other song of theirs, but I really like the way they pull it off here: Scott/Kirstie sings a solo line Avi/Mitch sings a solo line Scott + Avi/Kirstie + Mitch sing a duet line Avi/Mitch sings a solo line
Would you be interested in an example of their song arranging genius?? If yes, I would suggest you do a 2 song in one review. The original (or, some of it) followed by the PTX version. Here is the original ua-cam.com/video/bIyl9bCp6W4/v-deo.html and here is the PTX version ua-cam.com/video/u8rT6ij0PSo/v-deo.html “COME ALONG” you still have so far to go on this PTX journey!
💕💙🎶🎵🎶**IF THERE IS MUSIC IN HEAVEN, IT WOULD SOUND LIKE PENTATONIX** 🎶🎵🎶💙💕
Yup...still my fave Christmas song ! And since PTX is my fave group, then it's a double whammy of happiness. Thanks for putting this up!

The most powerful version of that song, imo.

This is the best version that I know of. There are so many out there. This is my favorite Christmas song.
wow really?
@@PhiliminizzyReacts yes. It's about Jesus being born and for spiritual people that's what Christmas is really about. It's a beautiful son
Love this version. But accapella group Homefree did this song and it is my favorite one of the many many I've heard. It's a must watch.
Pentatonix don’t do covers, they do upgrades
Don't tell Pentatholcks they are covers they are upgrades
