Thanks for your channel, it's very helpful and informative. I've had a snyc2 for 3mths now. I've just got into multitools and only carry them to be prepared for emergency/unexpected events. I use it as a belt buckle to lighten my backpack liad. I find that it's a big heavy buckle. I've got used to it.
Nice review. I've got both if these and was super excited about them until I started using them. The screw/post is completely straight off the buckle and if you lean forward or take tension off your belt it unhitches incredibly easily. I wrote sog about it and they said they were working on a fix and would send me an angled stud but nothing ever came of it. At this point I just money clip it to a regular belt
Jeff, my first worry was that this was going to be one of those gizmos which, when used as a belt buckle which required removing one's entire belt to use. I was pleasantly surprised by that, at least! I may not be the biggest fan about the idea of this tool, but I do appreciate the creativity that went into it. The thing I most wish were still around, however, is the NAA mini revolver buckle.
Nice video, BUT WHICH ONE IS WHICH!?!? Is the sync 1 the small one and the sync 2 the larger one?! That info would be very helpful right now there's an ebay listing I might bid on but wanted to know which one is which in this video so I know what I'm going to be bidding on!!!
The V1 is the smaller, more useable one. And discontinued. The V2 is the „better“ tool, because it’s sturdier (at least it looks a bit sturdier), but it’s way too big and bulky, at least for me and others i showed it too. My hint is: go for the v1, if you can get one. I just ordered a good one as a back up, it was a lucky find since the v1 is more expensive (everybody wants the v1)
Those are pretty neat I've never paid attention to them. But I've gotta thank you again Jeff you were totally right about the victorinox swisstool X I love it fit and finish beyond anything I've ever seen and all the tools are so smooth and just thougfully designed the whole tool I cannot believe I waited so long but the price is a little rough 144$ for the model with the bit kit and micro ratchet.
I own several multitools, but the 2 that get carried the most is my Victorinox Spirit X and my Leatherman Charge TTi+. I like them both equally and for different reasons...
Just a heads up. I have what is supposed to be a Sync II and finally got a blank belt. So I pull it out and it must be the "Airline Safe" version because it does not have a knife blade. On that side it has what I can best describe as a small flat screwdriver or dull awl. Sort of bummed I didn't figure this out when I bought them.
I understand that this is an old video but I did have a question do you still have the smaller version of this tool? I would love to buy it off of you if able
I carry the Leatherman PS4 squirt; it has a good array of tools and the small non-locking blade makes it UK legal. Although I have just picked up the Leatherman Bond which I'm carrying in a bag.
I sometimes have the squirt or the nextool mini on me, and the small sync 1 in my belt. So there’s always a second pair of pliers when i need them, even if i have only mini tools on me.. (and if i ever forget my tool i at least have a backup i don’t need to think about k 😉
I love my Leatherman Free T4. I don't typically need pliers, so I enjoy the smaller form factor of the T4. I am also fond of the Leatherman PS4, but find that my T4 is better suited to "real world" usage, whereas my PS4 is more for light tasks. So, I put the T4 in my pocket, and the PS4 in my bag, or keychain...lol
those tools are cool the knife i use for most things is a mora wood carving knife and that's for stuff i shouldnt use that kind of knife for but its the sharpest one so i always pick it
I should carry a multiy tool but I have lost two leathermen's when they first came out that was a very expensive lost, so I never bought another one. I still have the leather sheath that my Swiss army knife fit in it perfectly so carried that for many year's. The Swiss army knife knife is tried and true I can say that my Swiss army knife even skind and prep a small pig to eat.
Seems silly to me to have the scissors lock but not the screwdriver. Really think it should be the other way around. You're much more likely to put pressure on the screwdriver when using it than to put pressure on the scissors.
I don't really like the locking mechanism. I'd be afraid that my finger would slip from the black tool trying to unlock the blade and go right into the edge.
It’s more of a backup tool or a „i wish i had a second pair of pliers“ thing. Additionally the normal screwdriver it has is quite ok, i managed to open/close everything i really needed with it, from kids toys to loose screws on an excavator panel. The jewelry thingy is just small enough for things like glasses and stuff, so it’s ok. Not great, but useable. 😉
The sync 2 is just too much. Too big, too bulky. The sync 1 on the other hand is amazing. Sadly the 1 is less and less available…I just bought one to have a backup when they are completely gone…
It looks interesting but it feels more like a gimmick than anything, it looks a bit too uncomfortable for a buckle and too flimsy for any jobs I'd use my charge for. Also, could it count as concealing a weapon as an inconspicuous object in some countries?
The V1 is a great tool. Small enough to actually use it as a belt buckle, and „always there“. Before i got mine i sometimes had to improvise when i had no tools with me (vaccination or visiting family) and only my usual Multitool on hand, and needed a second pair of pliers. Now i always have them. Even when i go out and forget my knife/multitool, i always have a backup with me. Yes, it can’t compare to a Victorinox or a leatherman. But it’s always „there“ and doesn’t need any effort at all, in fact when i got it new i sometimes even forgot that it was there 😁
lol yes I misspronounced the names its sync like your "sync your voice"

ive always wanted to use one of these. definitely a cool concept
Leatherman Wave plus

The belt buckle is an awesome perk!
I usually carry a SAK super tinker. I love having scissors at the ready.
The Wave and the SOG PowerLock.
I own several multitools, but the 2 that get carried the most is my Victorinox Spirit X and my Leatherman Charge TTi+. I like them both equally and for different reasons...
Pretty cool but I haven't worn a big belt buckle in a long long time.
Have you seen their pop socket tools before? I think you should review it
Very interesting tools. Thank you for sharing

the tool i carry most is an ozark trail leatherman wave copy i picked up on clearence for 25 dollars should ve bought 2 Have a good day.
Hey, Jeff. Have you seen the indigogo for the goat multitool? It's a fully customizable multitool
For most all around us, Swiss Compact. Most tools for a two layer SAK.

Really cool!
I keep a Gerber Dime in my purse and a Leatherman Micra in my get home bag

Good for emergency but my pants fell off when I deployed it!

the jewelry driver is basically a 2 dimensional phillips micro driver.
Is it Sinch or Sync?
sync
"Beltbuckle Knife" 😜😜😉😉😀
I kind of like the small one but they blew it by not having at least a two dimensional Philips instead of that stupid jewelry screw driver

The overall form factor is like they copied the Sebertool m4 but made it much larger and worse.
Looks more like a money clip than a pocket clip.
🤠👍
