@@msu-bd8od Priceless! Good morning(In Europe and what a great comment! 👏 Maiden was better before, but are still going like a old train with whistles you know. Steve Harris is a Beast, and seems like a hell of a good guy. Not "Hey I am Steve Harris" Earthbound.

Well heard but not uncommon. You should listen to more isolated Steve, especially from the Powerslave album. I don't think any other album stretched him more technically. He ain't no machine but we love him even more for it!
Awesome. Thanks for sharing! On the finished recording at the 5:18-19 mark it sounds like Nicko falls out of time but this master copy clearly shows he just has a light strike at that mark. What happens in the finish is that Nickos light strike at 5:18 gets drowned out by the other instruments and especially the synths. Check it out because there are many of us who thought he flubbed and thus was human actually after all, but now thanks to your sharing this master recording of just the bass and drum, now we know for sure that Nicko is still from other worldly dimensions of cosmic drumming. :D
Wow! You're right indeed. I always thought he missed his snare at 5:18, but it's a light hit indeed. I guess drumming to Maiden songs can be quite long and exhausting ;-) I'm also hearing the extra tom fills at the bridge part, wich really sound nice! Always thought McBrain to be an underestimated drummer, yet no one can touch his grooves in my opinion. And his fills are never the same and sound killer! He adds lots of variety to them and he's very creative that way. If you listen closely there are also lots of ghost notes in his playing, wich I think are awesome. Love that loose, jazzy feel. At least Nicko's a real drummer who adds lots of feel and personality to the songs, not one of those mechanical click track robot-metal drummers you hear now a days, like that 'new' dude from Megadeth. Boring!!
ARAD_Austin You could here it? There may very well be something wrong with u. I believe you may have some canine DNA in you. That's ok. I also have some mixing. My mother told me that my great-great-great grandfather was half man, half bear, and half pig.
@@pipschannel1222 wise opinions! I thought he'd missed it too judging by the final mix. I bet knowing Nicko he probably cursed and headbutted the studio wall on the way out! He'd have known straight away!
Killer. Killers. Both beasts. I don't get the need to have to have one or the other as the better drummer. Clive had a great feel. Like a freight train. Played a bit more repetition. Nicko has a great feel too. But looser. Not sloppy loose. But more fluid. His arms are 5 ft 7 in long though. That's Each arm people. So there's that. This is great. Ty for upload laddy. Or lady.
Their first 16 albums are the greatest.
Yep, that’s why they are my favorite band, Maiden and Helloween. With every album they offer something new

4:23 : Best fill ever!
I know. Ultimate 'battering ram' drum fill. Can't get enough of it!
YES SO MUCH YES

Greatest drums and bass duo ever! Up The Irons!
My best part from 0.00 to 6.10
Soak it up people. Pure genius at work...love the feel of Nicko's foot work!
ah yes, the greatest Iron Maiden song of all time
These days Nicko worships God. The rest of us still worship Nicko! Those ghost notes from 4:02, simple but it just makes that groove happen
I've always felt that the producers really buried all of Nicko's drum clarity, thus making him sound a lot simpler than his drumming truly is.
Listen to it on something other than your phone.
steve & nicko 👍
They sound brilliant as always
Best band so much attention to detail. Truly art.
Infinite dreams, I can't deny them
Infinity is hard to comprehend

5:49 this little fuckup by Steve Harris is my favorite thing on the whole album.
That's no fuck up mate....elaborate

Steve Harris😮
in another life steve harris would have been a genius classical composer
He plays classical guitar riffs on bass

No es original......tengo muy bien escuchado el bajo de Harris y hay arreglos que acá no están como él los ejecuta.

Es el track original viejo. Es Steve Harris quien toca, no hay arreglos.
Good playing but I can't get over his tone, too bright and thin. Needs more low end.
