    A tip for your bin bag is to go to Bunnings and get a cheap plastic kitchen bin that just fits in there and put it in your bag without the lid as it stops leaks into your bag and just lift out to empty.

    This caravan is close to 100k and you put in the 12/24v system, extra solar, replace wiring, new tyers, dust suppression system and now you want air suspension that's a hole lot of extra $ for a already expensive van. Keep the vids coming.

    I installed the newer version of the WiTi and was wondering why shaking the van didn't set off the alarm. I contacted them, and they told me that they changed how the alarm works. They found that relying on movement to detect break-ins resulted in too many false alarms. So they dialled down the sensitivity to movement and added the sensors. BTW thanks for the discount code for that.

    Hey cam. Was wondering, using hindsight. Would u still buy a hybrid first and then spend again to upgrade to a full van latter. Or would u just bite the bullet and buy a van from the start?? • @WildTouring
      @WildTouring  Рік тому +3

      Tough call to make. Personally I'd probably go with an import Hybrid in this market. Full size Aus made vans are overpriced at the moment, and sadly the build quality (in my opinion) was far better on our hybrid. The Hybrid was half the cost and went everywhere we pointed with very few issues. Really good value for money. Resale was good too, got back pretty much what we paid for it. I'd buy another MDC.
      The Willow was double the cost, has had a lot of issues already that I didn't expect to have. And I've had to sink a lot of money into it to bring it up to the standard we need. Certainly wouldn't buy another Willow, and I'd be hesitant to spend so much money on ANY other full size Aussie manufactured van in this market.
      Could also consider hiring vans for a while to see what you like?

    Be aware of the regulations regarding connecting a bbq via the bayonet fitting as below:
    “When a BBQ is connected to a bayonet or fixed installation it is deemed to be a part of the installation and must have flame safeguard.
    If the BBQ is fixed to a caravan or on a product such as a slide out, the BBQ is deemed to be a part of the installation and must have flame safeguard.
    Having a gas bayonet is legal if fitted by a licensed gas fitter. Appliances with flame safeguards can legally be run from that bayonet fitting. In the case of some popular barbecues on the market they do not, so legally they cannot be used off the bayonet fitting.
    The report continues on: The solution is to have a BBQ that has flame safeguard or to not fix the BBQ to the caravan or a product such as a slide e.g. supply loose, connect via a gas bottle directly e.g. the gas bottle sitting on the ground and have labels to ensure the gas bottle does not get fitted into compartments where BBQ is.
    It’s also important to understand that ANY barbecue that is modified from the way it’s sold means it requires re-certification to be legal.”
