Whats your best modification for your caravan????
What a tease when Becks just happens to capture the 200 series in the back ground!
Thank you for this tip mate. Very nice and easy thanks to your details
I returned from the UK in mid 2020 and have had lots of time on my hands since. I discovered your channel and I'm really enyoying watching your adventures. Thanks so much for sharing your your amazing travels and tips - please keep the excellent videos coming!!!!
Mmmm, new van, new vehicle, new boat, too good!!! look forward to future travels whenever that may be. :-]
It works great I’ve done that to every caravan I’ve had it’s simple and so so easy cheers from Hervey Bay 👍🍻🇦🇺
Awesome idea, I’ll be doing this to my van too!!
Two minor details to add, make sure the threaded end of the eyebolts is no longer than necessary so that it cannot possibly intrude on the sliding bracket for the awning. Second, slip pieces of heat shrink over the cable before you start, and then shrink it down over the swedges and the cut end of the cable so you don't snag your clothes or hands on it. Looks good.
Great idea, I saw this on a van on a trip to Tassie a few years back, suggestion to add a zip tie through the turn buckle to the eye bolt to stop the chance of the turnbuckle coming loose with the wind buffeting, plus a safety for the open end hook, this clothes line is also good when you are transiting as you can use it without putting the awning out, keep up the good work
Thanks for the awesome video, hubby has been saying for a couple of years that he is going to put one up for us. Well guess what? He said he is off to Bunnings tomorrow! He said to make sure I write down what I need as we watch it, I said later, let’s just watch it first and you put up the shopping list - AWESOME, THANK YOU!
Looking forward to watching the new van video , and the best car, a cruiser!
Just fitted this to my bus. Took 10min while watching the video. Thanks mate works great 👍
Thanks Justin. I’m going to Bunnings in the morning ! 😊
Great looking new van, boat and cruiser.👍
Great idea. When I did mine I used a turnbuckle at each end and stainless wire. Works a treat. Just don’t over tighten as it will pull your awning arms in. Good video.
Awesome idea - will be doing this on our van one day! Only thing I would add to it would be a little piece of heat shrink around each swage just to protect fingers from bare cable ends.
Awesome guys! Your “Hot Tips” and Gear video’s are just as valuable as your touring video’s.
RebeccaW Cheers mate
Your kidding yourself if you only clicked on this to see a clothes line, glad i did the 200 looking mint 👌
I.ll say .. this is bigger than ben hur and his charriotts..😂🤣😂😎
Not to mention a sneaky shot of the boat... your just teasing now...
Great tip 👍 been meaning to do this to our van for a while now, it just seems to wind up on that one day list 😂
You make everything look so bloody easy ... Beck your one lucky lady ..
And he can cook !
That’s great Justin, we just bought our Jurgen Lunagazer, might ask the ole boy to make me one. Keep safe.
Well done Justin now my wife wants one 👍🏽🇦🇺👌🏼😎
Greg Paterno she’ll love it
Thanks for the post. I got all my stuff today and I’m sure your 10min job will take me all day.
All done and was as easy as you said. Thank you 🙏🏻
As always guys, bloody good content!
I just completed the clothesline! Love it. Your instructions and details & shopping list are perfect. It was just as easy as you said. Thanks for this awesome tip.
You are so welcome!
Great idea and we also have a sunserker van.
Thanks for the video. Just added a clotheseline to the Silverline Outback. Looks good!
Awesome
Thanks again Justin for this great idea just forwarded to my husband. Our new van comes in February.
Enjoy
Good work, like your style!
Great idea👍🏼
Adding a cable thimble at each loop will protect the cable at the stress points.
Love the vids
Stay safe folks
And a proper swage tool wouldn't go astray either (I'm a perfectionist), but at the weight they are looking at holding... not really necessary. 😂😎
GB Sailing
I was looking on thicker cable!!
You aint seen the Mrs’s smalls🤣
Awesome tip guys will definitely be doing this when we get our van
That’s a great idea mate. Might have to do that myself one day. Up grade from the rope I use.
This is awesome. I just went to Bunnings and bought the gear and made one for our new van👌
So good hey
That is great....a simple solution and so practical.....
A great tip to make life on the road a little easier.
Colin Ross thanks mate
Great work Justin, might be a job on the New Van we picked up this week. I had one the same on the little Jerguns Skygazer we had a couple of van back. Thanks mate and hope all goes well when you are back on the road
great idea, definately keep on mind. 👍👍
Hey great idea. FYI the back side of the pliers inside the handles are what you use to crimp things.
Awesome bit of kit at a great price.
I hope we see more videos like this setting up your new van ready for when the adventures start up again.
First like yew 🤙
Aussie Damo cheers mate
Good I see you got your new 200 series and boat
Ripping video just fitted mine great instructions
Outstanding!
Was totally waiting for the birds nest, lol.
But dude, SHOW US THE CRUISER!!!!, cant wait.😁
Just installed this setup. Thanks. It was easy as! I hammered the swagers shut though. Couldn’t get them shut with the pliers. Cheers!
Awesome
Great Idea mate.
Great idea! Thanks
Great idea mate, and not once did you say hot tip lol. Stay safe. Cheers Steve
Mudduck's 4wd Touring haha, no drinking game in this vid😜
Legend! And thanks for adding the list at the end
Enjoy
This is going up in our awning today. Cheers you legends! 👍
Hope you enjoy it!
Awesome Vid Justin - simple and cost effective clothes line. Keep up the great work. (Just got a sneak peek of the new van and Landcruiser - great stuff. Have I missed the vids?)
Awarded Genius status for that. 😊
Legend!
Awesome tips- we’ve used this on ours since a few days after you guys released this vid!
We are about to upgrade our existing old van to a flash brand-spanker (baseline) , but they’ve got the newer concertina type of awning, not this style. Going to be so annoyed if we can’t have a clothesline.
Yeah Justin 👌
thank you for share detail video and great joy ideal
Brilliant 👏
Need to buy a caravan now 👍🏻
Great work mate, as usual
Talk about teasing us with the new gear in the background love your vids keep them going
chris o'neill 😂😂
@@TripInAVan When do we get to see all the new gear?!?!?!?!?!?!!?!?
Great idear !! I only have a inch tape in America not A metric type like you have in Australia so I can't do it .LOL. I'm joking !!
Add some washer to improve strength
Just put one one my van as well but i used the "
Pinnacle 3 - 3.2mm 316 Stainless Steel Swageless Balustrading Kit" from Bunnings, it grips the end of the cable so there are no stray wires to scratch you or get caught on the washing.
Nice! However, a simple measure up from the awning pivot to the open door frame would give you the clearance you require to get over the door. If this is lower than the axis of the awning by 100mm or more, then two (2) or more lines could be run/affixed 50mm apart!!!
You've managed to snag a spot in a van park. Well Done!
Allister Davidson permanents at the moment 😂
@@TripInAVan 'll moo1
Short simple and very powerful. What makes the video smick is the camera operator. (Way to go Beck / and your presentation skills are awesome, Justin. Who cleaned up later?
Great video, I wish I was in Australia though. Pricing the same products through Bunnings NZ costs NZ$74.05 and that didn't include the locknuts. Might have to see if Bunnings AU ships to NZ.
Its About Time You Guys Come Back Welcome Back 12 Cartons Of Iron Jack 20 Liters Of Wild Turkey And 19 Crimes Later oi oi oi : )
Love the vid, going to do this to our new van. Does the wire get held up by the awning support while travelling?
hahahahaha love it guys i am a huge fan pls go to soorentos cafe next time you guys are in mount gambier we own it and love to seee you guys in ther and love to meat YOU
Rani Mutton cheers mate🤙
I've got simple eye hooks on the back door of van..open up and i've got two lines. Enuf for me and one other person....can put towels on roo bar!!
Hi Justin, Have you change anything about this clothesline setup after two years? Any changes in design to make it better? We just picked up new van and will do this mod soon. 👌
The back side of the pliers pivot has an indent crimper that would work better for the swages..
Great idea and simple to make and use. Just a question... What do the kids think of you making videos all the time? "oh look, mum n dad are making another video"
Nice
Hi Guys, still looking forward to a review on that washing machine...
OMG you just said ‘togs’. Reckon you & I are the only two Aussies left in the world still using the word togs... For those wondering they are bathing suits/bathers/cozzies. Now all ya need is to do the washing mate & Bec has ya well trained.
Look at MacGyver go.
(Insert a Patty & Selma Laugh here) 😁
Walkabout With Kira 😂😂😂
Just about everyone I know says ‘togs’. It’s a QLD thing👍
I still use it...when out sailing!
Seems like a great idea. Just be careful, on corrugated roads a lug worked itself loose, swung around scratched the hell out of my windows and doors and smashed out the sliding catch on my awning. It's great until it ain't. Don't travel with it attached. In retrospect it was the worst thing i ever changed on my new caravan.
What type of tie downs are you using in your awning, very interested would love to know. :)
Right propper job pilgrims ..😁pip pips and carryon
Do u travel with this still on and can you still put the legs out on your awning one at a time without binding up
I’ve done this thanks Juz cheers
One thing to add… you need a mate who has muscles or a proper crimping tool!
Good tip!
Looking for land cruiser and new caravan review... i guess it is up and ready to go
when are you going to show the new truck
yayyyy i am first
Great idea which I copied but instead of a shackle I used a Stainless snap hook and loop due to fat fingers dropping things
When aluminum and stainless steel are used in an assembly together, the electrons from the aluminum will begin to transfer into the stainless steel. This results in the aluminum weakening. This weakened aluminum causes it to deteriorate at a much faster rate. This can lead to an extended life of the stainless steel.
the metal table you are working off of, can you supply a link, or name, or dimensions/weight...... i am looking for something lighter than the 19 lb, folds i half 2x4 ft plastic table i have. thanks.
Justin.... you are a little cheat... talking all time about a bloody cloth line... and in the back you show a glimps of you new wheels! Guess what all of us a more interested in ?? just kidding... knowing that you have a rig down in you sleeves and hopefully coming soon... We love you and your family and your channel which have cost me about 150k for a toy and camper van. Please keep things coming. Stay save and all the best with your new toys. Cheers
Can I ask what the tie down straps are?
Are you doing a post on your new car and caravan or have I missed it. I noticed the caravan the otherday and now I see the cruiser.
Norman Hallett yeah it’s comin soon✌️
Hey can you do a caravan tour and car tour because we’re all stuck from travailing and van you do hacks for travailing aus
How is the 200 ? I tow with one they are a beast. Walk around of the new setup ?
zoezoe610 build series starts soon
@@TripInAVan Cheers, hope we can all get on the move soon. I talk to my van in the driveway, is that kooky ?
zoezoe610 not at all😳
How come you haven’t done this to your new van?
What awning ties are those @tripinvan
Navigator awning buddys. Use coupon TIAV15 for discount
So are you leaving it when you leave it in place whilst travelling and closing awning yeah?
Leaving what where??
@@TripInAVan do you leave the cable clothes line in place?
Can you repeat the part from 7:20, as soon as that beautiful truck came in to view i didn't see anything ells
So good. (You guys should become Amazon affiliates and provide links to these items. )
Shirley Peters yep, that’s a thumb down from me for : buy from Amazon ! Sorry mate, that guy makes a billion a day worldwide with Amazon. Buy Local and keep the local jobs going... even when their stuff is also made in China, at least the importer and retailer are OZ locals. Cheers
Aussie’s are sellers on Amazon. It’s just not that obvious as they tend to be anonymous. I’ve just bought a 128gig Sandisk and it came from Queensland.
Is that the new tow vehicle in the
background
Daz Taylor sure is bud
@over opinionated ...and the first 199 don't count right?
Loved your videos mate , first time I commented . Can you answer me a question? You and your wife have convinced us to buy a motorhome , and travel my beautiful country ... Do you think after 5 years people will miss the comfort of home ? Kevin from Chiang Rai Thailand
Nice job, but hardly worth the cost & effort for one line. Easier to just tie clothes line direct to the arms. We've been caravanning for > 25 years, I tie a long length of line back and forth for 4 lines, plus another short single line if needed.
Fits a whole load from the washing machine in van on the one line so perfect for us 👍
Guy's, You really need to get out more, , , really, , , , , , , like really, LOL
great tip. But you are digging deep for content.
There is a much easier one, lighter & cheaper, no screws & seconds to set up, how can I show you…
can you explain, sounds interesting?
