What was wrong in their analysis? What piece of information were they missing? I think that’d be almost as useful as analyzing why they make the good decisions they do. Maybe even analyze a game where a really good player has a bad game and try to understand why.
The problem with this is that without audio from the team's comms, it is very difficult to say with any certainty and the analysis would be speculation.
@@blaynegreiner9365 True but the explanations around the good decisions they make are also speculative. For me I think hearing in depth explanations of failures would be pretty interesting/helpful though.
They are just all different from each other. I would even argue Winston is more difficult than either Ball or Doom. Ball and Doom just have a bunch of intricate tech in their kit but it is all of varying degree of usefulness. Some of it is flashy to look at but isn't ever needed.
I finally decided to go as high as I can with him, especially after the buff. I had deranked to silver, so I started there. 77% win rate and a couple days later, I'm diamond 4!
As a high level ball player, it's crazy how little technical skill goes into his gameplay, it's all gamesense and positioning. While I am definitely not at his level I can confidently say I would be mechanically better at using ball's abilities. So imagine if he was a god at both aspects. Unstoppable
You can't say that with any certainty, though. He isn't using any "mechanical" Ball skill because it isn't needed. Being an actual paid professional on the most successful franchise in the esport, if he needed that mechanical skill to be successful, I imagine he would utilize it.
@@blaynegreiner9365 Not really. I play at a GM level, so just watching the video I saw many points where his ability use could be optimised, but his actual team awareness, positioning and gamesense is far above mine. Many pros aren't one tricks like a lot of GM players (me included) who have almost mastered the mechanical aspect of a character over a thousand hours but haven't spent the time to master teamwork, gamesense, etc through endless gameplay analysis, coach feedback, scrim matches, etc. Most pros cant be good at just one hero otherwise they will be countered and lose their team the game, meaning they have to prioritise their time for the highest value, which will always be positioning, space creation, game sense, team support, awareness of enemy, pick choice, etc, so while their technique is definitely good, it's far from mastered since they just don't have the time to, since they aren't a onetrick. The difference comes in with dps where abilities are simplified and the focus is less on the whole meta game and more focused towards getting kills. The best representation of the difference between high mechanical skill GM players and pros is just looking at Lucio. Lucio in GM is absolutely absurd in its technical complexity, but Lucio gets so much value from being acutely aware of everything going on in the game, that the pros spend endless hours learning that over wall ride and boop techs that help in niche cases.
