  • Finally doing a walkthrough of my Lund 2025 Impact XS with a 200-HP Mercury Pro XS. Its layout fishes hard yet is family friendly - I've been absolutely loving it the last 3 years!
    👊 Thx SO much for watching!

    ‣ Amped Outdoors lithium batteries:

    I recently upgraded my boat batteries to lithium!
    I went with Amped Outdoors' 36V 100Ah trolling motor lithium battery system (which is two 36V 50Ah LiFePO4 batteries in parallel). I was able to shave off roughly 133 pounds 😳 by running those 2 lithiums vs 3 lead batteries, and of course get some amazing run times:
    ampedoutdoors....
    Which also freed up an extra battery slot in my boat, so I was able to plug in this 100Ah beast (only weighs 24 lbs 8 oz) to exclusively run all of my electronics - fer dayzzzz 🔋 - instead of running them off of my cranking battery:
    ampedoutdoors....

    ‣ FIN GEAR Live Scan Pole Mount:
    bit.ly/FIN-GEA...
    Not cheap but it has worked GREAT and is super beefy! I had broken numerous other poles that had lots of plastic parts, so finally ponied-up for one that could withstand my abuse. I have it mounted on a Cisco Sport Trac Lund Mount (42°) so I can move it anywhere around the boat

    Hands down the best review on these I’ve seen. So many videos on here just spout out boat specs and a sales pitch without real world experience. Us real people wanna know about the junk drawers and how this thing really gets used! Appreciate all the info!

    Fantastic walk-through. Better than most others because you break down the electronics, various tips/tricks, the "why" of everything, etc. Doesn't come off as a sales speech but gives everyone all the info they would need to buy and equip a boat. Your enthusiasm, humbleness, etc adds greatly to the video. Good job!

      Thank you!!! It's a loooong video, but there's still a million things I wasn't able to mention or go over. I figured I'd just do my best to keep an eye on the comments and answer specific questions directly. It's just impossible to cover it all! Really appreciate you taking the time to watch and leave a comment and I'm pumped to hear that you're enjoying the videos! The next one will have a lot of walleyes coming topside....

    5:03 ... YES!...YES!! and Y-E-S!!!!... You don't know how long, and how many videos I have watched recently to find out that info of, the actual height of these boats while on the trailer. Being Lund specs them out at 7 feet. I have the same exact situation as you do. I have a 4 panel garage door and the header of the door frame at the lowest point is 81-1/2 inches. I actually visited a Lund dealer and had them lower the tongue to the lowest point on an 1875 Fisherman and was able to get the wind shield under the dimensions of my door restriction by 3/4". Although after watching your video I forgot about the engine cover. Assuming it would have fit regardless. I'll have to double-check that; before pulling the trigger on a purchase.
    I'm currently in the hunt for the 1875 in either the Impact, Crossover, or Fisherman and still can't decide. They all have certain qualities that fit me.
    - The Fisherman being deeper inside, like the area by the live well where you can lean/plop against while trolling, being it's a little tall. Plus they have the rubber gasket around the floor cutouts for waterproof of items in floor compartments.
    - With the Crossover & Impact, it's a flip of the coin. Both offer the ski/Tube pole option. Like the wide gunnel on the X-over. But with the narrower gunnel on the Impact that they used that ended up freeing up space to put that bench all around. Where you mentioned the comfort of sitting on it or quickly strapping your pole to move to the next fishing spot.
    One important thing I'm stunned to learned from your video is - I'm shocked that the onboard electrical charging system (alternator) does not have the ability (connections) to charge the trolling batteries when the engine's running? Learned a lot from the 35 minutes and yes if you made a "6 hour video" I would have stayed for that too. Good Luck 💯

    • @TargetWalleye
      @TargetWalleye  2 місяці тому +1

      Assuming the battery is good, it sounds like you need to install a "battery disconnect switch" (basically a master power switch) to isolate the battery from the rest of the electrical system and prevent it from being drained by small things such as a radio, pumps, lights, etc.
      My accessory battery was being drained (I believe by my LiveScope's "black box") until I did the same. Turning that switch to ‘off’ would essentially be the same as removing every connection from the battery terminals, but obviously much more convenient at the end of the day lol.

    • @TargetWalleye
      @TargetWalleye  Рік тому

      The little attachment dealio is actually made by Lund and called the "Lund Fender Hanger." It can work with most any bumper. And then the actual bumper is called the "Hull Hugr." Really like them being flat because I've had round ones sort of roll out of position on me, and of course the flat ones stow SO much easier in compartments when not in use.

      I can't figure it out. I've needed to get new batteries every 1.5 seasons for like 6-8 years now. My rig gets a ton of use and I'm hard on stuff, but I always took every step to try to properly maintain them to last. Oh well, finally went lithium for everything but my cranking battery and no looking back! I've used the same Amped Outdoors lithiums in my ice fishing units for years now with zero issues, so they earned my trust for investing in the boat battery purchase. It has been a dream come true this year so far. Thanks again for watching, Patrick!

    How do you justify lithium vs agm and other batteries? Youll have to sacrifice weight and speed yeah?

    • @pain_weaver
      @pain_weaver Рік тому

      Less weight =better speed. Lithium batteries weigh 1/3 of lead acid. So saves weight more speed.

    • @nightknightlegion1273
      @nightknightlegion1273 Рік тому

      @painweaver9360 I think weight distribution and placement of batteries for one angler and someone who has a family outing will play a factor as well. I typically will have the fam sit at the bow to balance, this helps me get in plain faster bc my lithium batteries are too light at the front to get my motor catch enough depth even at its maxed trim.

And the completely open layout is a dream. But all rigs have pros and cons. It's nice not having to wear rain gear when it's sunny and 98 degrees...same for when it's 18 degrees in November or March. In a dream world I'd own 3 boats: A tiller, a deep-v windshield, and a bass boat. But until I win the lottery this baby is my do-it all 😅. Thanks for watching!
