Lund 2025 Impact XS - After the First Season!

  • Last year I sold my Lund 1875 Impact XS. It was sure bittersweet as it was a great boat. This year, I purchased a Lund 2025 Impact XS and got to build it exactly how I wanted! So darn awesome!
    If you're looking to learn more about Lund's Impact Series, hopefully this helps! The one thing I wish I would have touched on in the video is the hull and the transition into the IPS2 with the 2025 - a very noticeably better ride thanks to the hull / the extra 1.5' in length.
    If you have any questions, drop them down below and I'll try to answer them. Otherwise, my friends at Wendt's Marine will certainly know!
    Tight Lines. Stay Dry.

    Superb boat, extremely functional. Had a chance to fish in one recently, was just amazing. Super stable, no splashing, grandiose storage, extreme comfort in these pilot chairs with suspensions. This boat is the Bentley of fishing boats...

    Kyle, I'd like to equip an 1875 with the Suspension Seats you have in your 2025. The cockpit width is the same in the boats and I won't have rear seats in while fishing so I don't think space is an issue. Agree? Great videos on both boats. Thanks!

    The 1875 was my choice after running a Ranger 620 for 10+ years. The Lund is a much easier boat to handle at the launch.
    Gotta say it's a very nice boat BUT it rides 10x more harshly in moderate chop than the Ranger. I get wet...A LOT.

    I have a 1775 adventure but I’m thinking of upgrading to this or the fisherman for the length and horsepower. I want my family to be more comfortable and I want to be able hey across the lake at faster speeds. That being said….how do you think the size upgrade has paid off for you?

    Nice video, I have two questions about the kicker motor. Why did you get the 9 instead of the 15 and why did you not get the kicker control in the cockpit instead of steering etc from the back of the boat? Yes, one other question, is the snap in carpet and or mats worth it. It seems like just something else to clean? Thank you for your time and attention.

    • @OBOUTDOOR
      @OBOUTDOOR  3 роки тому +1

      Thanks Ron. I got the 9.9 because it certainly pushes the boat well as it isn’t fiberglass. I use my Ulterra to steer and I got the one without controls so I can easily take it off if or when the boat is sold. I like carpet in the boat but if I head to Lake Michigan or cat fishing... stuff like that... the carpeting will come out.

    Great video, thank you. A few questions for you: 1. Lund's website recommends the 60" trolling motor length for the 2025 impact series so curious to learn more about your decision to go with the 72". And 2. Any issues with the size of the pilots chairs? Some owners complain about them being bulky or cumbersome when maneuvering around the boat. Appreciate your help, as I'm in the market to purchase this boat.

    • @OBOUTDOOR
      @OBOUTDOOR  3 роки тому +1

      Thanks Blair. I use the Ulterra for reef jumping on the lake Winnebago system and sometimes point into larger waves while on anchor mode. My 1875 had a 60” and on some rollers it would come out. I went with 72” and highly recommend it. Reference the chairs, I would get them again. The only “bulky” complaint is on the mounting. The left one should be mounted about four inches farther left to allow for a cleaner walkthrough to get from back to the bow. I hit my knee on it. There is room for this mounting but my snap in carpet would need to be cut. Not a huge deal but that’s my only complaint yet it wouldn’t stop me from getting them again.Good luck on the purchase and congrats!

    you mentioned that you are fishing for muskie. That's Relevant to the decision I'm trying to make.
    I'm going to be getting rid of my old bass boat. I love fishing out of a bass boat. I primarily fish for Northern and panfish. I fish up in Wisconsin on the Mississippi River.
    how to get rid of my bass boat and get a v some kind.
    I was looking at the Lund 1875s.
    now I found a pretty sweet deal on a Lund 2025.
    does anyone have any thoughts on fishing on a river, although it's a pretty big river, primarily fishing for Northern or panfish... and doing this with a 2025?
    I think what confuses me about the 2025, a lot of people talk about it being a big water boat. I live on lake Michigan so when I think of big water, that's what I think of. I'm probably never going to bring it out on one of the Great lakes. So is this too much for me and what I want to do where I want to do it?

    • @OBOUTDOOR

    Serious question, asking as a noob. Why do boats have a kicker motor and use that to troll in place and also have a bow trolling motor?

    • @OBOUTDOOR
      @OBOUTDOOR  3 роки тому +1

      It all depends on the weight of the boat and also on what the owners need. For instance, I can troll on my little tin can with the bow mount. My 2025, no way by itself (for any extended period of time) but I utilize it to steer the boat and push with the kicker. Depending on the size of engine, it might be unable to go slow enough for optimal trolling speeds or if they can, a lot of owners don’t want to put the hours on the main engines. Hope that answers your question.

    • @tonnyberben1770

    • @OBOUTDOOR

      Haha! Congrats and thanks for checking out the first vid! They will fit in under the rods (storage area) not specifically in the actual battery compartment to add the third though.
