  • It's easy to make your own herbal hand sanitizer. Join me in making an anti-bacterial, anti-microbial spray using common ingredients like ethanol, and Aloe Vera, and infection fighting herbs like Usnea and St. John's Wort.

Hello, just want to clear up something I miss-spoke on in this video. The CDC does not recommend you make your own hand sanitizer, but rather advises that any hand sanitizer you use should be 120 proof (60%) alcohol or higher to properly disinfect. Given that I added 100 proof tincture to the formula, this is slightly diluted and under the recommended proof, though I have still found it quite useful when sprayed on shallow cuts and burns to ward off infection. Thanks for watching! ❤

With the aloe, Ive seen a lot of people slice down the middle and scoop out the center.
I love usnea!!! I forage for it after heavy winds and lots of downed branches. My friend needed something other than neosporin for their cat since the cat promptly licked it off and as you know Neosporin is petroleum based. She traded lungwort she has geowing on her trees for a salve I made. It was Usnea infused oil, calendula infused oil, oregano Essential oil, honey and beeswax. I didnt do tree tea oil because I wasn't sure if that was okay for the cat.
I did put tea tree oil in this same salve for a human tipical antibiotic salve. It actually cleared up a boil my husband had on his back.

Usnea is one of my favorites! We recently had an old wolf pine fall down and its branches gifted me lots of it! Glad you enjoyed the video.
