    That 'threat to my virginity' line was the best I've heard in a long time.😅

    Ah so this is why my mom married at 18 and then divorced her first husband at 21? I find this wild as when I graduated nobody was considering marriage as a back up plan. Many of us moved out at 18 too and none of us needed to marry to do that.

    Compare to the 1950’s version they did on MST3K and it’s shocking how much this country changed in 15 years.

      @@Piecesoftheshadow That is your opinion and you can also speak for yourself there is good and bad in any decade or century. Such as there is bad and good in the 1970s.The individual was just in part simply pointing out the bad. The 1970s is in some cases no better and in some cases no worse then the 1950s. I think now is far worst than both decades.

      @@jahirareyes1102 It’s not my opinion. It’s a fact. It’s history. Every single decade and century has had good and bad and the world back then was even darker than a lot of the world today. The world (humanity) has always been chaotic and crazy and there has always been good and bad in every single decade.

    Why are they so angry? I was 13 in 1970 and I swear to God we weren't this pathetic.

      A lot of films like this used anger and extra emotions to get the point across during the late sixties / early 70s

    I wonder why they ended of it so abruptly. I mean I understand the message, but there might be some younger people watching who might not understand.

    These two are just cooped up at home with their dominating parents. Mike is already going away to college and will have peace in a few months. Vicky should do the same

  • @am_2395
    @am_2395 9 місяців тому +4

    I'm not sure if I'm dumb but I don't quite understand the message. They both are so pissed at their parents that I think this engagement it's just a way to defy their authority. She's childish and he's emotionally immature.
    I'm not saying that their marriage is going to fail, but if they ever marry, it's gonna be harder for them to make it healthy and there are greater chances of them perpetuating the generational traumas they both received from their parents.
    But in the end, I guess the real message we can take from this is that hormones can lead to dumb decisions as much as anger does.

    In high school if you are an attractive girl take auto repair and shop classes, get summer jobs at repair shops, get out of high school with connections for a job and go to work in a cute mechanics jumper. Yes, you can have a decent paying job AND guys galore. I know a girl who did this and she and her husband are partners in their lucrative auto garage.

    I think the easiest solution to this is for the government to implement some sort of "suitable for marriage test program" or something like that
    Just make em live in an apartment on their own for a few months or two then whatever happens will prove thier readiness
