Funny how some people are freaking out about the "spanking"comment yet 50 Shades of Gray is the biggest selling novel in history among women. But then failure to recognize irony and lack of self-awareness often go together.
There are also several persons commenting that they want a man like John. However - and, I only know this from the little bit of reading I did on sites about how bad the writing is - that twit in 50 Shades of Gray is actually nothing like John. He's weak manipulative, constantly thinking about and fawning over the woman and willing to go to great lengths to prove she is desirable. He is a pretense at strength, but, really, a slave to the woman. So, many selfish women do not like John, whom they see as a threat, but, they like that other dink, because, he is a fun pet who will make a fuss over them. I knew men who were like John, some into BDSM and some not, and, women were always telling me that they were abusive. Yet, I was never abused by them. Because, what the women really meant is that these guys would not let them get away with whatever they wanted without consequences. They would be generous, but, not to the point of ridiculousness. And, they were the sort that if a woman tried to make them jealous, they'd let her leave and never look back. It's like with Sean Connery stating that sometimes a woman needs to be slapped and defining the circumstances. Which is if she is given the last word and she won't take it, repeatedly. And, he was talking about a little slap, to restore her to her senses, not brutality. Same as you would do if someone was in shock or getting hysterical. Women told me he was abusive. I told them his wife doesn't seem to think so. They told me if I was with a man like that, I'd see and realize how bad he is, the first time we got in an argument. And, I was like, "No. Because, I prefer not to argue and when there is a disagreement, I want to solve it, not get the last word in. So, he's never going to be slapping me. He's going to be slapping you! Therefore, the problem isn't him and it isn't me, it's you." Then, they got mad when I walked out on them for refusing to listen and think. And, I didn't even slap them!

I'm so glad that more women nowadays notice the malice behind this sentence.
And most man, we also know how fucked up that quote is.
Regardless of the sexism behind the statement, it's so strange to say either way. Why would a straight dude compliment their girlfriend by saying she's like a man? I think Eve was justified saying that he was a bit weird.
@@somewhereinspace2166 right, like dude, if you like men, just say that lol
Fast forward to 2019, the two women realize that they enjoy each others company more than they do any man ... perfect couple!
My immediate thought Tbh. Like yeah maybe there's a reason theyre not satisfied with the men around them

No... fast forward to 2019 and someone like you thinks because men have more in common with men and women more in common with women, that should make us all queer. Your comment is the poster boy of why and how these times are so screwed up.
No wonder that trope of the "football player/star" who relived his former glory days existed. Once upon a time, "the football player" in high school and college was treated like a special celebrity. Not bc they were hoping to get drafted professionally...I still do not understand why tv shows/movies acted like they were the ones everyone wanted to date. 🐢🐢🐢Cara
Can't even tell who the sponsor is of this one
I shudder to think what a "course in family relations" would involve today.....
Funny how some people are freaking out about the "spanking"comment yet 50 Shades of Gray is the biggest selling novel in history among women. But then failure to recognize irony and lack of self-awareness often go together.
gandy74 exactly! These are Snowflakes
Therefore, the problem isn't him and it isn't me, it's you."
Then, they got mad when I walked out on them for refusing to listen and think. And, I didn't even slap them!
Who's freaking out about the "spanking" comment?
50 Shades sucks peanuts out of its own shit

The man challenged the girl, complimenting her that she was as smart as a man, in order to compete with her. And the girl at that time refused to participate in the rivalry, leaving and never meeting that person again.
☝️He made a judgement according to his own abilities that only a man could be smart, while he devalued her “feminine” mental abilities by giving her such a statement.
She is a smart girl!
