The Sam never getting nice presents thing is really sad and effed up because Jeanette actually wrote in her book that the only time she got a gift she didn’t have to pretend to like (because her mother gave her childish gifts) is when Miranda got her a birthday gift. It’s really odd how a lot of the abuse Sam went through is what Jeanette was experiencing.
it feels almost intentional on the writers part because of the way it lines up WAY too accurately and to the very last dot for it just to be an accident. like they constantly made sam a glutton when jeanette suffered from an eating disorder, they knew what they were doing there's no way they didn't
@@PeterGriffin11 not the athlete, the animation movie about a dog that believes he is a superhero when he's actually a actor for a TV show and has to learn how to be a normal dog with a streetcat and a crazy Hamster
The fact that Matt Benett went out of his way to invite Quinton to a rave simply due to Quinton talking about Matt’s appreciation for They Might be Giants just might be the most insanely wholesome thing I’ve heard about all year.
When Matt Bennet said “I love being the puppet guy!” with such enthusiasm, I really felt proud of all the things I originally thought was stupid but grew to love. Be proud of your work
Especially with all the shame Jennette has about the show, and her struggling with it very publicly, it's nice to see someone who loves all the childhood joy he was able to bring and is okay living in that nostalgia. Jennette is very much like "How would it feel if you were only remembered for things you did when you were 14?" And Matt Bennett is like, "Pretty decent, actually."
@@javieraaravena Yes, to be fair to her it is a lot more complicated than that, and tied to a lot of bad memories. Matt seems to have gotten the support Jennette didn't get. I was actually responding to her podcast, where she talks about struggling with this, struggling with being recognized, and she said those words. "Imagine if what you did in middle school is what people knew you for as an adult. 'Oh, that girl was a swimmer, a dancer, a basketball player...regardless of what you are now, and what you wanted to do." and like, I get it. I get her feelings on this. But there are ways in which the actors on this show were able to make that choice, retain that agency, when she did not.
Right??? It took me a while to get comfortable even watching review content like this of shows I used to watch, because I felt like the shows were “cringe” and that I shouldn’t still take interest in them as an adult. But I did it anyway, and I’m glad I did! And for the record, my mom liked iCarly even more than I did when I was young 😂
I love the idea that Quinton refers to these videos as a "Miniseries" despite it being longer and taking more time to create than 90% of content on this platform
Quinton really only managed to review 5 episodes of Sam & cat in his 6 and a half hour video but managed to sneak in a whole section about how Ohio is quintessential America
I like to believe since Sinjin realized everyone was terrible and that everything sucked, the universe rejected him and he became sort of a transcendent godlike being
To me the “Tori gives Jade her necklace” is like in Highschool musical 2 where Chad and Ryan switch clothes after “i don’t dance” meaning they are dating now.
Funny enough, I think the Actual Reason for the necklace switch is similar/the same as the Chad Ryan clothing switch, but the creators weren't thinking of it in a gay way - it's meant to symbolize that the characters have reached some understanding of each other and grown closer overall. The gay way is much more fun and better though.
I know you'll probably never see this. But this has been getting me through my work day. I suffer from audio hallucinations, so having something playing in my earbuds helps me not hear what's not there. Going through your backlog has helped me for over a week now. I just want to say thank you. Your consistent voice in my ears helps me do my job.
Also you picked the perfect time to start going through his back catalog lol, because he uploaded 42 hours of content so far in the last like month haha
you’re extremely lucky that you have a job that allows you to wear headphones/earbuds. i don’t suffer from audio hallucinations but everyday sounds can very easily trigger my anxiety and paranoia but my job has a strict no headphones rule.
the most surreal thing about this video is not that cat valentine is able to recognize chris christie via his forehead in an in-n-out drive-thru, it's that quinton asked someone what the best local food in cincinnati was and they said *grilled cheese* in *kentucky*
@@AliceClow i took the story to mean it wasn't really sauerkraut on it, its just thats what he thought the rotten chicken was at the time, i could be wrong though
There’s also literally an episode where Sam freaks out because someone “stole” her laptop that was “the only good gift she ever received from her grandma”
i work in theatrical costuming so when you started talking about the necklace i was very prepared to offer a rational explanation, because a whole lot of seemingly wild choices boil down to "a wardrobe crew member messed up." but no, i believe you, someone did that intentionally. i don't think it was the director or even the designer, but someone on the production who had control over that necklace personally ships jori and snuck a little sign in.
I think that Quinton has, with this video, officially earned his Doctorate in NSU Studies - the first in history - and he should immediately be hired as a lore consultant for Nickelodeon.
honestly jokes aside, I can't believe how many shows in general suffer from the issue of the writers forgetting things when people in the fandom write hours long worth of content about something that happened 12 seasons ago. If only every time they wrote a show they hired a fan whose job is to just point out mistakes and things that dont line up because "in season 3 episode 6 this and this happened and it would contradict"
The main problem with that theory personally was how their lifelessness was first pointed out. Sikowitz was the first one to point it out, and as a teacher you'd think he'd be the first person to know about it and would deliberately try to not draw attention to them.
Oh my god the live action lecture was superb EDIT: and then the reveal that it was YOUR videos which gave Matt the justification to do his tour??? My god Quinton, you really managed to unite the whole Nick sitcom (and adjacent shows) fandom almost accidentially.
I firmly believe that watching these videos is the objectively superior way to consume Sam and Cat. I would absolutely not be nearly as invested in these characters if I just watched the show normally
The conversation with Matt Bennett was honestly worth the price of admission for this video. It was so cool to see how genuine he was and is own meditations on the surge in nostaglic appreciation for the shows of this era.
I love that Quinton specifically made a really long outro on Victorious 2 to make it longer than 8 hours so nobody would round it down to 7 hours Then Matt Benett still did
Honestly it was so considerate of Matt to like give you the coconut backstage. Knowing how anxious you were to get on stage, it's just nice he sensed that and wanted that nice moment with you in private
I'm Indigenous and when people say an area is "sparsely populated" it's actually typically home to a lot of Indigenous communities, so when you said Sinjin got pushed outside the defined areas where Nickelodeon sitcoms take place I was like "Ah so he's on a rez somewhere." and then you said the Dakotas which both have several reservations and larger populations of Indigenous people I was like, "Ah, so I was right." xD
Lmaoo just imagining Sinjin wandering around a rez, having no clue how he got there, having no clue where he even is. Man just blinked and suddenly he’s got four rez dogs sniffing around his feet wanting snacks
The fact that you edited in all of the headlines, calling out child slavery and in human practices for the Nestle nest quick commercial is frankly kind of impressive.
I just rolled my eyes when I saw it. Like we get it. Nestle is an evil corporation. But so is every corporation. There is no ethical consumption under capitalism. So why point it out at every opportunity?
These went from "wow one of those intermissions was pretty lengthy" to "the intermissions are basically as long as the main sections" to "the intermissions are ACTUALLY longer than the main sections" to "the part where he talks about the show is approximately 16% of the video's length"
Matt Bennett’s conversation with you and his speech almost made me cry. It feels like this entire series was leading up to this moment, a cast member telling you directly that the cast saw it too and just putting into perspective the scope of the impact of these videos reviving the fandom. It tied all of it together.
The thing is that while I don't think "Robbie is trans" holds much water as a theory (since the evidence is fairly sparce), I DO believe that all his "friends" would be incredibly bigoted about it, just based on who they are. And now I kinda want to see an intermission about how each victorious character would react to someone coming out to them.
I am a trans guy, and I relate to Robbie a lot, so I’ve made Robbie is trans jokes for years. I don’t think it’s actually canon but it’s fun to joke about. But yes, they would be bigoted.
@@totororaptors right, like. If Robbie is trans, then either Rex is just a puppet and Robbie is making transphobic jokes at his own expense in some kind of Blaire White level of hypocrisy, or Rex is a sentient being who is Robbie’s closest friend, literally goes everywhere with him, and still fundamentally disrespects his identity. It’s awful either way, which is why it’s perfect for Victorious.
The Matt Bennett story ended up being much more wholesome than I thought it would be. I was expecting Quinton to say he wouldn’t be able to go because of how sick he was. Glad he could though because it sounded great.
I gestated a whole baby and gave birth since your last Sam and Cat video. In fact, I was supposed to go test drive mini vans today, but instead my infant son and I watched this 6 hour video.

the greatest part of this has to be seeing quinton slowly lose his mind in a college auditorium with a live studio audience to not only see it, but to push him further into madness
That "Robot Chicken is based on the first two sentences out of Wikipedia" is some wild wild stuff, it just explains so so much about why certain parodies feel so alien to the shows they are referencing.
Matt Bennett seems like a genuinely wholesome and down-to-earth person. It's really awesome that not only did you get to meet him, but you got to have a serious heart-to-heart with him.
I’m sorry to everyone else but I LOVE that almost the whole video is an intermission, I love the random stuff he talks about and the Matt Bennett conversation was so beautiful.
Idk if Quinton is autistic, that's his business, but I am and that whole DSCU feels like me infodumping to my friends about my special interest at like 3 in the morning. Fucking unhinged energy and I personally adore it
@@SpecialInterestShowI was thinking this earlier. Making +20 hours content about nickelodeon TV shows and going deep about the logical side is such an autistic thing. It reminds me of myself going too deep in a special interest.
I cried at the Matt Bennett conversation. Like dude seemed so genuinely grateful and it was so sweet too. I cannot imagine what that moment meant to you.
The Colleen Balinger thing might not be super topical anymore… but as soon as Woody whipped out that ukelele my first thought was, “I’m not a groomer, just a loser” and then that’s exactly what happened and I still laughed so hard. I’ve heard that joke so many times and it never gets old.
If the Oxnard council wanted a celebrity to say “lumpatious”, isn’t Sam literally an internet celebrity? She could have said it, or gotten Carly to say it. Am I wrong in this?
It was still in the "internet celebrities aren't real celebrities" era, although Nick would capitalize on one (Fred) themselves while clearly angry at the increasingly rapidly growing internet culture..!
What I find incredibly funny about this video is that during the live intermission, you see a lot of the students making their own crazy theories synonymous with people making crazy fan theories online, and then seeing Quinton so fed up and not wanting to deal with it. Can't help but laugh about it.
The part where he corrects the guy saying that the nsu and the mcu are connected by pointing out a better and more direct connection between them was my favorite part, idk why

Can we pls acknowledge the fact that Quinton had previously expressed open disinterest in dolls in this series but now has some Barbies behind him. Character development we stan
I mean he also does have a Sheldon Cooper bobblehead behind him, and he's definitely not a Big Bang Theory fan. It would not shock me if the Barbie movie hype is what led to that. I myself even want some Barbie merch now and I don't really collect anything unlike Quinton
@@cl3fable479no, he had some barbie dolls behind him on the left !! i thought the same thing until i looked closer at around this time 5:00:29 (though they disappear afterwards so i don't know if thats his current set or not)
Normally I would agree with your "Sinjin is too weird to be murdered" idea but my FIRST thought was oh. He told the Hollywood Eight off and they DEFINITELY killed him. Their egos couldn't handle letting him run around unchecked like that.
i don’t think they murdered him, but i 100% believe they were there when he died. they probably sat there as the light left his eyes and just looked on with an expression of mild ambivalence. they probably made jokes too while the laugh track echoed ominously in the background.

I love the recounting of the rave night because I feel like it encapsulates the true spirit of concerts and even more so, the spirit of going back to your childhood roots for just a few hours. I never thought about how this isn't as common in other countries, but here in Italy we have a lot of anime dubbed on tv, and they wrote brand new openings for them in italian that are so well known people still remember the words to them years later: some of the most famous opening theme singers go on tour and have concerts all the time where the setlist is literally all cartoon openings and they're wonderful. It brings you back to being a kid for a while and the energy there is so enthusiastic and earnest it's impossible not to get swept up in it
Quinton, when you talk badly about yourself it makes my heart hurt. You are a strapping young lad with a boatload of creativity, charisma, talent and humor. I hope these videos make you more confident. You rock dawg
Imposter syndrome is so mean, I think he has had a huge impact on the yt scene! And to hear that he doesn't consider it important sometimes makes me so sad. He's amazing!
The fact that Matt said that everyone on Victorious watched the two Victorious' videos is astonishing Like, I the feeling "I watched the same as them" hits hard and even harden when it's, like, you're talking about *them*! Simply awesome, truly awesome ☺️💖
I don’t think the Judy Garland joke is merely a matter of repetition I think it’s more about poking fun at the idea that Tori is this sweet innocent waif upon which all the world revolves around. She is the Dorothy of this universe and Oz is just filled with characters designed to serve her story. This joke essentially first starts when the show starts deconstructing this idea with more of the cast making fun of her and the inherent immorality of the characters becomes more apparent. The joke is that Tori acts like she is an innocent flower when really she’s kinda a monster and Jade sees that and makes fun of this contradiction and claims that Tori tries to act like this sweet little Judy Garland character when she is quite the opposite. Jade repeats this whenever Tori tries to act innocent at certain points in the show so Jade uses the voice to mock her for it.
@@Jade_West2010 honestly I think way too much about this show but one thing I’m endlessly fascinated by is the slow shift the show takes from revering tori to constantly making fun of her and I jus think that joke is a great example of when that starts happening.
@@TheAngryMarshmallow lmao I mean I’m not gonna recommend it even tho I love it but I will say if u wanted to watch it with this kinda meta analysis of how the show eventually kinda slowly turns from being about “omg look how amazing tori is” and just turns into a bunch of mean ppl hanging out and starts kinda deconstructing and making fun of itself and teen sitcoms in general then that could also be quite fun lol.
I didn’t realize how much listening to a grown man talk about a 12 year old sitcom, a sequel to that sitcom and a reboot of both of those sitcoms all made for children and watching his mental state deteriorate every hour that passes for over 24 hours can have an effect on a persons mental health. But here we are. So proud of you quinton ❤
The live intermission was SO good. Seeing the large whiteboard that’s very much needed to get the point across was brilliant. I can’t remember if Quinton touched on this, or plans to in the future, but Emma Roberts appears on Drake and Josh as Addy Singer and is friends with Megan. I imagine that’s why the Unfabulous portion of the board was so large at first thought.
I was actually sobbing listening to Matt talk about his story and talking about you and how much your videos have done for him. This whole mini series has been such an interesting phenomenon, and I’ve enjoyed every second of this.
It means so much to me that Matt Bennett is actually such a down-to-earth dude. Robbie was my favorite character in Victorious as a kid (and highly relatable too), so while I'm not a big celebrity person, I always respected Matt. Like the fact that he took the time to watch your video and even made a tour because he was so inspired by your dedication to this franchise...I dunno man, that's pretty awesome.
I'm genuinely jealous of the Millennials/Zoomers that get to have that rave experience, because as someone who's not quite a Millennial and not quite Gen X (the designations of what each generation is have changed over the years and originally "Gen X" was absolutely not anyone born after 1975, to be clear, and I don't follow the retcon), I feel like our generation had WAY better themes and shows to draw from but no one from that era ever thought to do something like this. And yeah, I know that's kind of a backhanded statement against the other generations, but come on. Y'all know that the shows we had absolutely crush everything else. Especially the 90s Nickelodeon era.
@@RabidDogmaI disagree, I watched a lot of 90s shows which were great Mid 2000s-2010s shows like adventure time, Steven universe, regular show amazing world of gumball and are so good I can easily go back and watch them as an adult though It does not always need to be this generational war BS Most zoomers have watched a 90s show cus loads of that stuff is still popular and around just as many millennials who didn't even grow up with adventure time love the hell out of that show cus it's just that well animated and written I love the shows that define my era, thinking they are objectively better than shows u probably just haven't watched is sad and gives the vibe of every Daily mail, the sun, spectator analysis of any pop culture which just turns into an excuse to shit on 'the kids' Sorry for the long comment, this inter-generational conversation has just become insanely tiring
@@RabidDogma I relate to you on being a cusper so much. Like... I remember in high school and college people would be calling me a millennial because that's the generation people were complaining about, but when I got to the work force people called me gen z because that's the generation people were complaining about. I feel homeless. I have traits of both generations though and I really hate when people pick on each other for what is essentially fashion trends.
@@RabidDogma I disagree. I always felt that a lot of 90s kids content (with the exception of Hey Arnold) has less heart than some of the stuff that came after. Not that it has none at all, but I just don’t think a show like Rugrats is really on the same level as Avatar: The Last Airbender.
i love that we finally got the episode of intermissions where quinton can fully lose his mind down the rabbit hole and share it with the whole audience. despite the small amount of sam & cat content in this installment, i absolutely loved it.
I think what Matt said was really interesting and incredibly on point Quinton, in his dedication to the archival of often overlooked media that’s taken for granted, has made himself an integral part of that media. Bravo
i love this guy's content so much i love the long rants about stuff ive never even thought about caring about. i love his commitment about getting props/merch and subjecting real life actual people to a lecture about doppelgängers. ive spent the last couple of days binging his content and i dont think i can watch normal videos anymore. thankyou mr. quinton reviews for ruining my sleep schedule and i look forward to now watching the 9.5 hours part 3 of this series lol
The Matt Bennett part of the video was really sweet-- I absolutely love the way he talks, he's so calm and respectful. He sounds like a great person. I'm so happy you were able to go to the rave and meet him because the lead-up sounded really concerning... glad you're doing okay now.

On the subject of "Take a Hint" and the original lyrics. There was a song on Disney produced around the same time called "Potential Breakup Song" by Aly and AJ, who were disney stars then. It also had similar vibes and is also a complete bop. Two years ago, they rereleased the song with the explicit lyrics. The song already went hard, but that just brought it to a whole new level that it shouldn't have. What I'm getting at is that if Aly and AJ can do it, I think Victoria Justice and Liz Gillies could do it too. And I would pay so much money to see it.
-You're crying because of a Matt Bennet interview? -The "A single person's passion and commitment to a piece of media they grew to get invested in ended up making them part of the very same cultural impact they were reviewing" got to me
For the Woody section around the 4 hour mark, my favorite theory is that Jade found out that he was a predator (as established by the “Paul” persona he put on in Seattle towards Carly) and that’s why she’s begun tormenting him. because it would turn those sections from uncomfortably cruel (even for Jade) to gloriously cathartic.
At first, I thought "Poor Woody." Then I realized, yes, he is a child predator, so he definitely got what he had coming, Hard Candy style. Jade might just be my favorite character in the NSU.
See I don't think so. It feels like another "writer's poorly disguised fetish" thing. I think Jade is the victim in that scenario, were it to actually play out.
Exactly, he got Monkey Pawed, constantly tormented and exploited by Jade, getting nothing in return but an illusion of attention, and unable to leave because of the same notion. It's probably not what the creators intended, but it's quite a satisfying theory for that particular character.
5:49:48 I love how much Matt Bennett thanked you for helping him realize how special Victorious and the Robbie character were! I’m so glad you got to go to the show and meet Matt Bennett!
Was able to finally finish the video last night. I have to say, quinton really did the book justice. Ive listened to the audiobook three times now because jennette's reading of it is just so immersive and i feel like since it started as a one woman show, her voice is really necessary to understand her story fully.
"Effeminate Jewish man" is a common sexist/antisemitic stereotype, so while trans man Robbie is certainly a possible textual reading of his character, I think it's pretty obvious the writers were just being lazy and using him for cheap stereotypical jokes.
I definitely noticed that, but as a trans man I am 100% for reclaiming Robbie 😂❤ Fuck stereotypes. And I am willing to believe Robbie's friends were bigots but hopefully they grew out of it after high school. lol
@@talonhammer Yeah I'm totally for turning jokes like this around on the creators, like one of Metroid's creators calling Samus trans (the term they used was a slur) as a joke being turned into "Samus is canonically trans and we're not letting you take it back" by trans fans of the games. I just wanted to make sure people were aware that this wasn't like some hidden coded message by the creators trying to get trans Robbie past the censors but unfortunately a continuation of an antisemitic stereotype.
Man I at first was just thinking it was a dig at him being unmanly bc I forgot he was a Jewish character, now it just feels much, much more gross yeesh.
I want to clarify that this is not an insult: Each video in this series has been giving me and increased sense of dread as I feel the entropy of what is about to come growing larger and larger, to the point where it went from something I didn't even think about to something giving me active stress as I am thinking about it the entire video, and I mean it as a compliment. These videos have been extremely well constructed and I have seen them all many times.
Man, frick Quilton. Making innocent people full of anxiety is a bridge too far for me. I put up with that awful McDonald's thing from another video, but this is the last straw. I'm unsubscribing from this dude
When the very first episode of this mega miniseries came out, my family had decided to bring home two adolescent kittens on somewhat of a whim. It was decided they would spend the night shut in my room so we could supervise them meeting all our other animals the next day. I spent that night watching your first iCarly video while my two kitties got adjusted to their new home and poked around for trouble. Two years later, they’re full grown members of the family. Thanks for helping me welcome them
It was honestly kinda funny to realize halfway through that this video wouldn’t cover much of Sam And Cat, and I accepted that this became a fun tangent to talk about the tangents around the phenomena of Nick sitcoms in general. I loved the college lecture part, I enjoyed the crazy NSU theorizing and there was an immense bit if nostalgia from seeing those commercials. The whole video is still great, worth the wait, and a fun time
I'm a technical artist for a wargame model company, so I do digital work or clean 3d prints for 8 hours a day. I have listened to your entire catalogue of videos at least twice, the Super long videos at least 3 times each, the icarly videos at LEAST 5 times. Really makes the days go by faster thanks Quinton
I can’t imagine what it would feel like walking around your college campus and randomly hearing a guy start ranting about how the koolade man and the wahoo punch man are not the same character and that I-Carly is not part of MCU with dozens of murmuring and laughter in the background
Okay but I LOVE Jade’s impersonation of Tori. That’s exactly how I impersonate my friends making them sound all ridiculous and over the top and my massive crush on Jade most definitely contributed to that lol
All in all, this puts the iTorious saga at 1 entire day, 9 hours, 36 minutes and 35 seconds. If we include the Fred video as somewhat of an Episode 0, then it’s actually 1 day, 13 hours, 15 minutes and 54 seconds. For reference, in that time frame you could watch both the Hobbit and LOTR trilogies and all eight Harry Potter films with no breaks, and still have a sliver of time to spare.
I put TRO and Quinton in the same slot for hard working UA-camrs. Like it may take a few months to come out but we all regularly come back to make sure we didn’t miss anything. I’m only 20 minutes in but I already know I’m going to rewatch this entire video multiple times over. Hell I may even start with the Fred video and watch everything in a row. I have watched all the documentaries multiple times over and will continue to do so because it’s an amazing series that I literally cannot believe is free to us.
The first time I listened to one of your long form videos was when I was recovering from surgery. It was weirdly exhausting trying to binge short video after short video, so your long videos were great for just laying back, watching and listening while stuck in bed. You’re content has kept me company and distracted me while recovering from two major surgeries now! I’m doing great, by the way! I shouldn’t need any more surgeries related to that issue.
I just discovered Quinton and am binging all his content but I have a surgery coming up next month and figured rewatching these would be perfect for recovery! Great minds think alike 😂 Cheers :) Glad to hear you’re doing well and shouldn’t need more surgeries! My upcoming surgery is my third surgery for this issue and I’m hoping for it to be my last, so I completely understand the feeling (well hopefully)
I took it as a challenge when I saw the 8 hour one come out to watch the entire thing in one sitting. It was honestly a religious experience akin to taking a heroic does of mushrooms.
Oh my god that adorably enthusiastic speech Matt Bennett gave you at the end was so touching. I can only imagine how floored and humbled and absolutely panicked that makes you feel knowing the entire cast has watched these.
Yeah, the necklace thing makes sense. Tori learns to get along with Jade and connect with her, so to show that they have Jade wear some small thing that's iconic to Tori. I don't think it's even written in the script or anything, I 100% think it's just something the actresses suggested that the crew just kind-of went with because why the heck not, you know? In-universe, it's probably just because Tori wanted to give Jade something to remember them acing the class by and Jade had enough respect for her to go with it. Which honestly makes a lot of sense... BUT ALSO it could be a gay thing. And I think both the actresses were absolutely aware of this even though they knew it'd never be canon.
There's no way they wouldn't have noticed the implication there though. I still have my ex's necklace from when she would come over (it's a cheap one don't worry).
Dude, you are such a charismatic person & public speaker. A few years back, I NEVER thought I’d find myself addicted to these long form video essays about Nickelodeon sitcoms I watched once or twice as a teenager. Your ability to construct narratives and to tell stories is immaculate, and it shows because you’ve kept my ADHD-addled brain completely engaged for the entire duration of this series thus far. You’re a major source of inspiration and joy for me and plenty of others. Keep kicking ass, man!
as someone with emetephobia your little story horrified me but I stuck through the whole thing. It’s actually really comforting and inspiring to hear that after having an experience that’d ruin me you just got up and had a good time. Admirable
I work in a hospital picking up trash, and am allowed to listen to things via an ear bud so your super long videos are perfect to help me get through 9 or 10 hour days here. Today there was a couple of call outs and it was going to be even harder than usual, and then I saw at the start of my shift that you uploaded this and man, this helped me out a lot today. Thanks, Quinton.
@@globewithfishes my shift was alright! i mostly clean the offices after everyone goes home, tbh, i only have one area where patients go (wound care, which is closed by the time i get to it) but it means i get to belt out songs like leave it all to me and take a hint without worrying abt bothering patients :)
Thank you for all your hard work! Janitorial work is the backbone of society *anywhere*, but in healthcare is invaluable, and I’m sorry that’s not recognised more (socially or financially).
i hope you understand that you pioneered (or maybe revitalized, idk) an entire genre of youtube video and we will always be here when you are ready to upload. you talk down on yourself a lot but the people are HERE for YOU dawg. so excited to watch the rest of this video and everything else you do, no matter when you do it!
so true! Quinton has a captivating personality, and I hope he can see it in himself as well. People come back not o ly for the content but because he is the one hosting it
What a beautiful intersection you found yourself at with Matt. It really feels like the brackish water where internet culture meets (perhaps one of the last) generational touchstone kids' sitcoms. So cool and interesting!
I literally cried during Matt's speech. The past couple of years were tough for me and I developed agoraphobia and saw no one but my boyfriend for over a year. Watching Quinton's reviews made me feel like I had a friend and I was able to have things to ponder and laugh at. Your videos were a lifesaver for me and it honestly just hit me how grateful I am to you. Thank you c':
I'm actually crying during the speech of Matt. It's such a wonderful culmination of everything Quinton has worked on for this series. He got to go to his first rave, he got to experience the excitement and passion in real life along with the other fans. Honestly this is art, I'm so moved

The fact that Matt Benett went out of his way to invite Quinton to a rave simply due to Quinton talking about Matt’s appreciation for They Might be Giants just might be the most insanely wholesome thing I’ve heard about all year.
"I'm not crying; you're crying"
As a huge tmbg fan, most interactions between us is very very wholesome.

When Matt Bennet said “I love being the puppet guy!” with such enthusiasm, I really felt proud of all the things I originally thought was stupid but grew to love. Be proud of your work
I agree, I lit up when he said that
Especially with all the shame Jennette has about the show, and her struggling with it very publicly, it's nice to see someone who loves all the childhood joy he was able to bring and is okay living in that nostalgia. Jennette is very much like "How would it feel if you were only remembered for things you did when you were 14?" And Matt Bennett is like, "Pretty decent, actually."
@@oldasyouromens I mean, being totally fair on Jennette, it's a lot more complicated than that
@@javieraaravena Yes, to be fair to her it is a lot more complicated than that, and tied to a lot of bad memories.
Quinton is now a canon entity in the NCU through his gigaseries
I’m scared to see what a fully fledged series would look like
@@slucariosThe difference between "series" and "miniseries" is actually about number of episodes, not length

To me the “Tori gives Jade her necklace” is like in Highschool musical 2 where Chad and Ryan switch clothes after “i don’t dance” meaning they are dating now.
literally the first thing that came to my mind
Funny enough, I think the Actual Reason for the necklace switch is similar/the same as the Chad Ryan clothing switch, but the creators weren't thinking of it in a gay way - it's meant to symbolize that the characters have reached some understanding of each other and grown closer overall.
The gay way is much more fun and better though.
More like when Troy gave the T necklace to Gabriella and she said: T, for Troy?
@mariacm9159 and then he said, "no Gabriella, T for Ted Bundy"

the most surreal thing about this video is not that cat valentine is able to recognize chris christie via his forehead in an in-n-out drive-thru, it's that quinton asked someone what the best local food in cincinnati was and they said *grilled cheese* in *kentucky*

i work in theatrical costuming so when you started talking about the necklace i was very prepared to offer a rational explanation, because a whole lot of seemingly wild choices boil down to "a wardrobe crew member messed up." but no, i believe you, someone did that intentionally. i don't think it was the director or even the designer, but someone on the production who had control over that necklace personally ships jori and snuck a little sign in.

I think that Quinton has, with this video, officially earned his Doctorate in NSU Studies - the first in history - and he should immediately be hired as a lore consultant for Nickelodeon.
He deserves a plaque, unironically
there is no way nick cares about their own lore enough to hire him
No joke, I think he might know the lore almost as good as Schneider himself
@@nagymihaly8072you're lowballing Quinton there by comparing him to Schneider
honestly jokes aside, I can't believe how many shows in general suffer from the issue of the writers forgetting things when people in the fandom write hours long worth of content about something that happened 12 seasons ago. If only every time they wrote a show they hired a fan whose job is to just point out mistakes and things that dont line up because "in season 3 episode 6 this and this happened and it would contradict"
The idea that the shruggers are studying to become extras is so clever and makes so much sense that I know it’s not intended
The main problem with that theory personally was how their lifelessness was first pointed out. Sikowitz was the first one to point it out, and as a teacher you'd think he'd be the first person to know about it and would deliberately try to not draw attention to them.
Tbf Sikowitz is constantly off his rockers on expired coconut water and the likes. You think he knows what’s going on?
Oh my god the live action lecture was superb

I watched 24 hours of Nickelodeon sitcom reviews and all I got was the most poignant explanation of why the internet is so important to the modern day
Agreed. People have been giving Quinton shit for only talking about 5 episodes in a 6 hour vid but the convo with Matt makes it worth it!
I love that Quinton specifically made a really long outro on Victorious 2 to make it longer than 8 hours so nobody would round it down to 7 hours
Then Matt Benett still did
Tru also love that Matt Bennett waited in the line in a hoodie for the ticket booth to see if anyone would notice him waiting in line

My exact thoughts when I heard Matt say that.

I just rolled my eyes when I saw it. Like we get it. Nestle is an evil corporation. But so is every corporation. There is no ethical consumption under capitalism. So why point it out at every opportunity?

Matt Bennett’s conversation with you and his speech almost made me cry. It feels like this entire series was leading up to this moment, a cast member telling you directly that the cast saw it too and just putting into perspective the scope of the impact of these videos reviving the fandom.
That fucking puppet would call me a slur
Ik its literally robbies puppet but God he seems so bigoted
@@totororaptorsIf any character was going to drop the F slur, it would be the puppet. I know it in my soul.

I blame Margot
I mean he also does have a Sheldon Cooper bobblehead behind him, and he's definitely not a Big Bang Theory fan. It would not shock me if the Barbie movie hype is what led to that. I myself even want some Barbie merch now and I don't really collect anything unlike Quinton

Normally I would agree with your "Sinjin is too weird to be murdered" idea but my FIRST thought was oh. He told the Hollywood Eight off and they DEFINITELY killed him. Their egos couldn't handle letting him run around unchecked like that.
_"They're am*bivalent to thiiiiis*"_
I think Sinjin being too weird to kill just adds to how unsettling it'd be if he actually did die
Honestly my first thought was that he drowned, because he drowned multiple times in the show so I was just like “oh he actually died this time”
i don’t think they murdered him, but i 100% believe they were there when he died. they probably sat there as the light left his eyes and just looked on with an expression of mild ambivalence. they probably made jokes too while the laugh track echoed ominously in the background.
@@sourpatchkids351They do seem like the type to watch a “friend” die and act like it wasn’t that big of a deal. Only for it to be this looming thing in their life they never talk about afterwards.
What a strange experience it must be to have a live audience cheer and applaud someone for chugging a bottle of water
Quinton will really spend five hours talking about anything other than more episodes of Sam and Kat. And I mean that as a good thing.
You mean Sam and Cat
The fact that Matt said that everyone on Victorious watched the two Victorious' videos is astonishing
Like, I the feeling "I watched the same as them" hits hard and even harden when it's, like, you're talking about *them*!

You definitely have put more thought into this than I had. Well done.
@@Jade_West2010 honestly I think way too much about this show but one thing I’m endlessly fascinated by is the slow shift the show takes from revering tori to constantly making fun of her and I jus think that joke is a great example of when that starts happening.
@@tf6026 Yeah I go way too far with this show too, hence on why I'm going to work in film because I love being insightful with shows and movies.
Incredible comment I never really watched this show save for maybe 1 or 2 episodes , but your comment made me wanna watch it?????
I loved the Doug Dimmadome owner of the Dimmsdale Dimmadome cosplay, as short-lived as it was.

@@RabidDogmaI disagree, I watched a lot of 90s shows which were great
Mid 2000s-2010s shows like adventure time, Steven universe, regular show amazing world of gumball and are so good I can easily go back and watch them as an adult though
It does not always need to be this generational war BS
Most zoomers have watched a 90s show cus loads of that stuff is still popular and around just as many millennials who didn't even grow up with adventure time love the hell out of that show cus it's just that well animated and written
I love the shows that define my era, thinking they are objectively better than shows u probably just haven't watched is sad and gives the vibe of every Daily mail, the sun, spectator analysis of any pop culture which just turns into an excuse to shit on 'the kids'
Sorry for the long comment, this inter-generational conversation has just become insanely tiring
I think seeing Robbie Shepiro as a kid single-handedly shaped the type of guy I like as "dorky jewish twink" /j
Shit posting here but the reason this video was so good was bc there was less Sam & cat 😭

Quinton, in his dedication to the archival of often overlooked media that’s taken for granted, has made himself an integral part of that media.

Jade might just be my favorite character in the NSU.
he really feels like a stand-in for "the creator"
See I don't think so. It feels like another "writer's poorly disguised fetish" thing. I think Jade is the victim in that scenario, were it to actually play out.
Exactly, he got Monkey Pawed, constantly tormented and exploited by Jade, getting nothing in return but an illusion of attention, and unable to leave because of the same notion. It's probably not what the creators intended, but it's quite a satisfying theory for that particular character.
@@weirdguy1495I love that someone else thought of that film when they saw this comment.
5:49:48 I love how much Matt Bennett thanked you for helping him realize how special Victorious and the Robbie character were! I’m so glad you got to go to the show and meet Matt Bennett!
Victorious was flawed but I think they struck gold with their cast. They emulated the characters so well!
It's so sweet how Quinton and Matt helped each other realize that both of them have made a difference and brought joy to people's lives
the Victorious videos were 5½ and 8 hours long... Quinton was right: people always round down
Was able to finally finish the video last night. I have to say, quinton really did the book justice. Ive listened to the audiobook three times now because jennette's reading of it is just so immersive and i feel like since it started as a one woman show, her voice is really necessary to understand her story fully.
"Effeminate Jewish man" is a common sexist/antisemitic stereotype, so while trans man Robbie is certainly a possible textual reading of his character, I think it's pretty obvious the writers were just being lazy and using him for cheap stereotypical jokes.
man. i never noticed that. that’s so shitty
I just wanted to make sure people were aware that this wasn't like some hidden coded message by the creators trying to get trans Robbie past the censors but unfortunately a continuation of an antisemitic stereotype.
thank you for spreading actual helpful information on the internet
Man I at first was just thinking it was a dig at him being unmanly bc I forgot he was a Jewish character, now it just feels much, much more gross yeesh.
I want to clarify that this is not an insult:
Each video in this series has been giving me and increased sense of dread as I feel the entropy of what is about to come growing larger and larger, to the point where it went from something I didn't even think about to something giving me active stress as I am thinking about it the entire video, and I mean it as a compliment. These videos have been extremely well constructed and I have seen them all many times.

If we include the Fred video as somewhat of an Episode 0, then it’s actually 1 day, 13 hours, 15 minutes and 54 seconds.

If Victorious ever got reboot Jade wear that necklace
