Stephen King's Masterful Werewolf Novelette Comes Alive!
In Stephen King's thrilling adaptation of his novelette, Cycle Of The Werewolf, a peaceful town is suddenly terrorized by a maniacal killer. The townsfolk think a madman is on the loose, but a wheelchair-bound 13-year-old (Corey Haim, The Lost Boys) knows the truth ... a werewolf is on the hunt. With the help of his Uncle Red (Gary Busey, Lethal Weapon), young Marty Coslaw sets out to stop the half-man/half-beast before he sinks his teeth into another innocent victim. Now, time is ticking ... and the full moon is about to rise.

My wife of 50 years and I loved that movie. She's gone now, but even today, I watched it and wept.
Funny how seeing things you and your love always enjoyed can still bring tears to your eyes. I almost
turned to laugh with her at our favorite parts, then realized she and Corey Haim are gone, I hope the
best for Mr Busey and Megan Follows. Once in a while they find a perfect combination of actors/actresses
for screen plays and they work perfectly. Silver Bullet is one of them.
"Silver Bullet"(1985) is one of the 10 best werewolf horror movies of all time! This is an excellent movie!
Yeah? Thanks for writing this, I'll think I'll get the movie.
@@zaidalily1198 Definitely you must see this movie! This is an excellent 80's Werewolf horror movie!
@@konstantinoskaragiannis1596 Thanks again!!
Horrible werewolf design due to the production being rushed unfortunately *BUT* it’s still a damn good movie, I really love the characters in the film especially Marty Coslaw and Uncle Red played wonderfully by the late Corey Haim and the delightfully bizarre Gary Busey. 😊
@@konstantinoskaragiannis1596 Thank you so much! I watched the movie and i freaking loved it!! The werewolf really freaked me out, and I'll can tell you, that monsters on CGI cannot give you more of a scare then the old effects like in the 80's! Thanks again!
I was watching this today can't never get tired of the 80s it's the best era
May Silver Bullet never see a reboot, this movie and cast continues to be memorable a classic that can't be replicated.
R.I.P Corey Haim.
He was good in this
Silver Bullet has to be one of the best horror movies ever Stephen king is the master of horror
One of the top 5 horror movies of all time. Just watched it again and still holds up so well. The tone, atmosphere, real life costume. Seriously watch this if you haven’t.
Loved this and The Lost Boys. Ah man,
Best werewolf ever made
Old is gold always
80s movies were a different breed
Eternally 🙏
@@weezyfbaby3510 the 80s was just such a magical time for cinema
@@OldSchoolCurt 80s was arguably the most original and daring era ever in television. 90s also to be honest. But the 80s horror and comedys are unmatched lol
I grew up in the 80s but never watched this until I was an adult. Glad I did. I don't hear many mention this as a classic, but it's really a good movie in its own way.
I just acquired a copy of Cycle of the Werewolf. Has artwork throughout. Really brings back the nostalgia from the 80s era that I truly miss..
Corey haim would've been happy about this movie being released on blue ray. RIP
I say he would done commentary for Blu-ray special edition
Top 5 werewolf movie ever
Only did the 80s offer Unique & Groundbreaking Horrors that are still well regarded now unlike the poor failed attempts of today.
Please let me go back to a time when all was GREAT 👍
I have to agree.
The werewolf in this movie looked more like a deranged grizzly bear but still compared to today’s horror movies and it’s over digitized nonsense this film still holds up fairly well. It’s definitely ripe for a remake however if they do remake it I hope they don’t over-digitize the hell out of it! Digitization is good when it’s used subtly but in large doses it makes a film seem lifeless, plastic and shallow.
@@phayzyre1052 Be cool if they made it a mini series on Netflix where each episode chronicles every month leading up to the full moon. And yes, absolutely use practical effects. Maybe even get Rick Baker to do it. Then use the Jaws approach and don't show the werewolf until later in the series, only glimpses and first show the aftermaths of the attacks as gorey and brutal to really unsettle the audience before they see the beast. Sorry for the long response, I love movies and writing so this would be a passion project of mine
The '80s can also lay claim to fame for a lot of good music.
@@phayzyre1052 I agree 100%! CGI has become amazing and you can barely tell reality from CGI now but I still love the animatronics and makeup of the '80s horror movies. American werewolf in London was another one that was excellent and ahead of its time. Part 2 sucked donkey dicks because it used a lot of CGI. I'm talking about American werewolf in France. That was trash!
Yes. 80s had the beat original horror movies not like the cgi and other effects they show nowadays. This movie has that nice characters plus movie has dark feeling, the fear, suspense and thriller and after all everything here looks natural. It feels very real that's what makes such movie watchable. That's what makes 80s special.
I had to ask my older brother what that Werewolf movie was called from 80s that he used to make me watch and he said which one? The one where he shoots a rocket off in his eye then burns off in his wheelchair 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 yeah that’s the one. Silver Bullet. What a classic 👌🏼
Best werewolf movie on 80's , still got chills
This movie is a classic♥️ I love this movie and Corey Haim (cutie) (RIP)
I loved Kings graphic novela this was based on, “Cycle Of The Werewolf”. Read it when I was 12. Ran like hell back to the house when I put the garbage out for the next 10 years. So by loved, I mean it scared the bejesus out of me.
My favorite horror movie finally gets a Scream Factory release!
Excuse me?
Yes it's about time
Happy 38th Anniversary Stephen King's "SILVER BULLET" (OCTOBER 11, 1985)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I LOVE WEREWOLVES SO MUCH🐺🐺🐺🐺🐺
One of my best 80's Horror movies 🎬 as a child I was scared lol hut always watching it..
I love this movie. I saw it when I was fairly young. Despite it having an R rating it's actually a horror movie for kids. It's scary but not to the point of giving most children nightmares.
i was 10 you're brave
disagree. it definitely messed me up as a kid lmao
I am terrified of werewolves to this day because of this movie. I'm still convinced that if I don't unlock my door fast enough when I get home, that werewolves are going to get me.
@@nikkivaladez944Michael Jackson's Werewolf from Thriller terrified me of Werewolves and gave me nightmares
@@aspie1996MJs werewolf and this movie scared me as a kid.
Personally one of my top three favorite King books based on movies.
The early ones are far better then the later ones.
Super good werewolf movie top 3
"Holy jumped up bald-headed Jesus palomino!"
king of ad libs thats Busey .
Happy 35th Anniversary Stephen King's "SILVER BULLET" (OCTOBER 11, 1985)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This was the first werewolf movie I ever saw.
i have watched this movie several time it is not to scary but it is a good movie. Also one of my favorite ones.
childhood memories silver bullet
Everyone saying it's campy or saying funny things about it ... nah this movie scared the crap outta me, seriously. I'm still so afraid to watch it to this day. It's almost like a phobia now... I even bought it to try and fight this fear of that particular werewolf but man I can't even look at when the werewolf comes on screen and that creepy as hell score. I'm still trying to bring myself to not be afraid of this particular werewolf. Whew. And it doesn't help where I live pretty much looks like that town. Gee whiz. 😖
1985 was a year of hits in both music and movies. 💯
A Halloween favorite.
Love this movie so much!
Pre-Ordered!!!! Seriously can’t wait
turns 35!
I remember watching it a few years ago
Very good werewolf flick
A decent Stephen King adaptation
Good dosage of horror and the characters are likable
Corey Haim and Gary Busey make good leads
The sister who narrates is very sweet and sincere
1 large gaping plothole and the look of the werewolf doesn't look the best but the transformation scenes are top notch and they jump right into the frights
The title is hilarious for two reasons as well
I just finished watching it again & 1 plot hole is after the Rev. attacks Corey in the bridge scene, it isn't clear if they boycotted his church or if his parents made the kids attend his sermons. That would've made for some more creepy interactions. The film was had an excellent cast including the werewolf's alter ego. I'd have given him an Oscar for that scary performance.
I miss the '80s for so many reasons!
I miss Corey Haim , R.I.P buddy :((
Best wererwolf film ever
rip our beautiful corey
This movie scared the daylights out of me when I was a kid lol
Silver Bullet and Cujo were really scary for a kid back then
@fuzzytigercat Cujo was scary asf to me too lol, and Boggy Creek was another one came that was out back in the early 80s,
The house where I lived looked the same, with the trellis he climbs up to that pregnant girl...I was terrified a.f..
Makes me wonder if Stephen King actually saw a werewolf and that's why he wrote about it. People have been saying they exist for hundreds of years and now with all the dogman stories it would seem they are real and they won't be able to hide for much longer
One of my FAVORITE S.K. movies
Was watching October Faction and it turns out their boss was Anne of Green Gables but is also in this classic flick, not a huge fan of Anne, although it's her most iconic role, but this here is one of my favorite movies of all time, although that's a big list so it's maybe not saying much.
This was the first werewolf movie to feature a werewolf that nobody knew the identity of. It could have been anyone in the town.
Miss corey haim rip
Love this movie
This movie much like the Piper movie THEY LIVE is a documentary. In this movie the pastor/preacher starts off as the type of character that is holy and a savior, but deep inside he's really a werewolf which happens to be a monster. Then in real life we have pastors/preachers that are like monsters that preys on kids.
Also I feel the jeckyl and Hyde of humanity in this with the uncles alcoholism
Considering it’s borderline campiness and given the time period in which this film was made it wasn’t all that bad yet by the same token it’s worthy of a remake. The only real gripe I have about this movie was the werewolf looked a little bit hokey and appeared to look more like a “werebear” than anything else. Other than that this movie is still watchable.
The movie is amazing
Well arent we Mr Pickypants
@@joea.9969 Picky? I’m just stating fact! Compared to werewolf movies before, and after Silver Bullet they were scarier a lot more convincing.
@@phayzyre1052 dont take me too seriously im usually drinking when i comment on youtube
Ppl back then thought this movie was corny and a joke but they are wrong. Its a CLASSIC cliche 80s movie lol 8/10. Only beef is the shitty werewolf costume. Other than that its good
Wonder if the exorcist will get the scream treatment
Silver Bullet in de favorite horror movie hits
"Master of mystery and suspense"
Not what I think of when I think of Stephen King
Anne Shirley, werewolf hunter :)
Silver bullet (1985)in de favorite horror movie hits werewolf
Look forward to watching and critiquing
I wanna buy this but sure it’ll be on 4K soon
The way Marty could haul himself up the trellis to his bedroom using only his arms....Well, I'm thinking he was strong enough to pound that werewolf into jelly!
Man this movie gave me nightmares
Ya one of my favs. Haim and Busey were great. Only issue is at the end after make the silver bullet, send parents away and up all night. After all that, he tells kids the crazy and takes silver bullet out of gun. Lol. Stands there with bullet in hand why lights go out? Kinda silly
This movie is what an episode of The Wonder Years would be like if it was occasionally interrupted by a werewolf.
Wow, I never thought about it that way but I agree. Even though the Wonder Years were set in the 60s, Marty does remind me of Kevin a lot.
Paramount Pictures.
Then use a standard brass FMJ bullet on the poster, wtf?! lol
The same day actress Michelle Trachtenberg was born.
Great movie watched as kid and locked my window every night for years
My first hororrmovie!
Bhai download kese hogi
Is this the movie where the kid shoots the wolf and the wolf turns to a human and says thank you
I believe you are thinking of The Monster Squad.
ua-cam.com/video/KhsL_G0x5Bw/v-deo.html
"Kid shoots the wolf" - yes
"Wolf turns to a human" - yes
"Says thank you" - no
You might be thinking of The Howling. Patrick Macnee is helping the werewolves and the main lady shoots him. As he is dying he says something like "thank God".
Yeah decent films!!
Would love a remake…
When you had to work to get great results in cinema.
Scream Factory!!! What's Up Tv???????????
This movie made me scared of werewolves into adulthood
The kinda movie even John Carpenter would've been good at directing.
Real
🍿😎
I always thought this movie was about a Murderous rollercoaster, How wrong was i.
