Stephen King's Masterful Werewolf Novelette Comes Alive!
In Stephen King's thrilling adaptation of his novelette, Cycle Of The Werewolf, a peaceful town is suddenly terrorized by a maniacal killer. The townsfolk think a madman is on the loose, but a wheelchair-bound 13-year-old (Corey Haim, The Lost Boys) knows the truth ... a werewolf is on the hunt. With the help of his Uncle Red (Gary Busey, Lethal Weapon), young Marty Coslaw sets out to stop the half-man/half-beast before he sinks his teeth into another innocent victim. Now, time is ticking ... and the full moon is about to rise.

Let this be a lesson: never go out alone in the middle of night when there's a freaking serial "werewolf" killer on the loose... and launch fireworks.
For real..... His Uncle told him to stay close to the house in the movie.....and I'm like really..... He had to learn the hard way
He’s tougher than most grown adults today
Hey nobody at that time knew that there was a werewolf they thought it was somebody killing people they didn't know it was a werewolf
One of the best werewolf movies ever! Still scares me at 42 years old 😂
Yes a good movie but not as good as The Howling
Right there with you big man
this scene alone is why i will never go walking in the woods at night
Me too...!
@@dwissba68 Totally agree! Howling was amazing. Another super scary show is Werewolf from the 80’s that show is super scary
This movie scared the crap out of me as a kid. Revisiting this particular scene still gives me chills down my spine. 80's horror movie was where it was at. The scenery, the music, the practical effects, making it seem like you were there. Today's horror movies are so cheesy they could never compare to something like this.
The level of suspense this scene manages to pull off still holds up as one of the best of all time.
This scene still gives me the creeps. That kid was smart to use that rocket as a weapon
ua-cam.com/users/shortsZ0kyBEldW-k
he's as smart as the script is
@@sexobscura true
and dumb enough to go 4km away from his home into the dark just to launch fireworks. Anyway I like this movie 😃
@@coffee55543 well there are strict firework laws in some towns
Ok honestly this scene is fucking terrifying...imagine being paralyzed and stuck on a bridge as a child while a Werewolf looking like that comes at you...thats also one of the creepiest Werewolves ive seen in film
0:34 looks so damn realistic
that shot right there stayed burned in my imagination for decades after seeing this as a kid, still does.
@@finrod8432 Yes the suspense as he is trying to light it, still gives me anxiety whenever im lighting fireworks on july the 4th .
Right? This movie has very underrated spooky moments but this moment the werewolf looks so real I think it’s because you can’t see the face and mouth so you can’t see the flaws in the suit.
@@JetConvoy agreed also being hidden in shadow helps
I love that shot of the werewolf behind the bush, but still mainly obscured by the dark. I find it pretty unsettling.
This movie gave me werewolf phobia like a mf🤣 but corey Haim was actually really damn good to have been so young. He's got a seriously convincing look of terror.
i became scared of werewolves, when i accidentally watched an american werewolf in london as a kid
@@AndreNitroX How old?
@@martykeaton182 i must have been 5 years old
@@AndreNitroX Seriously?
@@martykeaton182 it was on cable
I think this was my first exposure to the “killer’s POV shot” in a movie and Jesus god it still scares the crap out of me
agreed its so effective, and the buildup is painful.
So sad...I didnt know Corey haim passedaway 2010..such great actor
My favorite Stephen King book and movie.
I remember when this movie came out the first time I saw it as a kid I was scared and then it was one of my favorite movies and loved Marty's wheelchair his uncle built for him. This is such a classic
Corey Haim was such a great young actor. He did some wonderful work. Most anything he was in was pretty good. A shame what happened to him. Bothers me to this day. I love it when he nailed Lowe in the eye and took off on the Silver Bullet. He was really moving lol! The Werewolf was NOT catching him! Great scene!
I like how fast the wheelchair can go, and how well the kid can steer it. 😆
I don’t scare easy with horror movies I love them but not many really scare me but this scene horrified me as a child when I first saw it when I was like 5 and it always stuck with me and to this day it’s one of the few scenes that’s really scares me. That music alone is chilling
Love Stephen king's horror movies always still gives me the chills
his books are as scary as The Partridge Family
@@sexobscuraStephen King's books are very scary and amazing. Actually read his books before trying to talk crap.
@@darthtrip7188
Thanks for the suggestion. I have, that's how I can talk such (as you so eloquently put it) 'crap'
Imagine if he would've missed...🙄🥴🥴🤣🤣...I love this movie ♥️
No thanks.
Imagine that the height of your creativity is to imagine stuff on UA-cam
Imagine being in the toilet and there's no toilet paper but you have an uncooked frozen can of corn. OMG Imagine!
This part was filmed at Greenfield Lake in Wilmington north Carolina.
My family and I go here every year and take pictures on that bridge.
When I was a little kid I barely walked out in front of my own house at night. This kid, however, drives to a nearby forest and starts fucking blastin' lmao...
And all the while when theres a crazy killer on the loose that's got everyone in the town spooked lol
In the book this took place in front of his house.
i swear that werewolf had a look of hatred at the end
True. It seemed as if he had real emotions, as he genuinely looked angry lol
The music makes this scene
This is how a werewolf is supposed to look!
Looks corny as hell...clearly man in a suit 🙄
So cute 80's
madre santa... aún recuerdo esa escena, y se me sigue poniendo la piel de gallina...
When he got away it always reminded me of Mario kart 64 for some reason
Love it ❤,80s was the best for horror movies and a lot of other things it’s the music that makes it feel more creepier
I watched this movie because of my dad recomending it, i got to say it is one of my favorite horror movies. It was fun trying to figure out who is the werewolf
Probably biggest nightmare inducing scene in cinema history.
Happy 35th Anniversary Stephen King's "SILVER BULLET" (OCTOBER 11, 1985)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That next day at church when we saw Reverend with the eye patch everyone was like, "Awe 💩!" Last Boss reveal! Ha ha!
One of my childhood favorites back in the 80s always will be
That werewolf looks like bear
One critic said it looked like Smokey the Bear with a really bad hangover.
The Best Movie Ever , We Miss You Corey Haime
he looks so young here! first movie I saw with Corey, the blonde one, was in Lost Boys!!! What a time to watch movies, honestly I just watch 80s movies can't stand the way they are made these days, there;s hardly any emotion or magic
This movie is not the best movie ever but it is fun, creepy, scary, and entertaining. It's a good scary movie.
“It’s Rhingo time Arnie”
Ohhhh wilmington NC. i was just there a month ago. They are doing Maintenance on the bridge , but thankfully , in september of 2023 I did manage to get on the bridge without any werewolf sightings.
i don't get it. the kids best friend was just torn apart by something or some thing and he is out there in the middle of the night by himself a mile away from home in a wheel chair shooting fireworks that could give away his position. i like the movie but that is a little lame.
The kid even suspects that the murderer is some kind of monster “like a werewolf “ that kills on full moon nights.
In the book, he shoots the fireworks off right outside his house and the werewolf attacks, it’s nowhere near as creepy
@@bearzdlc2172 yeah if you’re a skim reader. The book actually details the scene in very creepy detail.
@@gravesidepoet5405 Nah, the movie is creepier. The book felt like a fantasy story. Except for the begining. That was good.
@@SadAndVengeful “the book felt like a fantasy story” *contains a werewolf* “except the beginning” why would that be relevant if the discussion is about this scene specifically? I’d argue watching a werewolf slowly walk up a hill towards you(bathed in firework light) is far creepier than not even knowing it’s there until it’s almost at you.
My Grandfather and I would watch this together, film terrified me as a kid. Times have definitely changed, werewolf don’t look scary at all 😂 I’m now 20 and I would love to see a remake of this movie!
If they do, they better make it worth my money to spend to see it in Theaters for the first time. And Not too much animation!!!
A remake of this would suck, frankly. Because first, its an '80s movie. Second, they would use CGI for the werewolf....and that would REALLY suck. :(
@@taracollins5597 I don't blame you for saying so really. That's frankly what I'm very afraid of that the writers and directors would put too much of all that into it if they ever decide to remake this movie. We very well know they've already made a couple of em so far. They are very lazy these day to make any actual werewolf costume and will use CGI and possibly animation as well it depends on the budget.
@@taracollins5597 I agree with you, no remake.
Don’t look scary? Compared to what?
I remembers that he had this special wheelchair with him..luckily motoreelchair..fast enough to get away from those werewolves.I was scared first time watching this movie..now became one of my favorites.
Se esse filme sair no cinema remasterizado, eu durmo na porta do shopping
O que esse filme terá uma nova roupagem
A primeira vez que assistir esse filme quase não dormi 😂
For 30+ yrs I've been searching for this movie
Funniest scene 😂 in the movie. He must've been doing 50
i'd like to know how his parents didn't wake up with him 1. starting the bullet and 2. flying out of the driveway doing 90 mph!! 😆
@@finrod8432 all I hear is the werewolf AHHHHH MY EYE! F#-"kn kid! Lol
Werewolf weakness is silver bullet
Marty had good aim
Should've have known there was a good reason why the fireworks festival was cancelled.
After all those years I can't help but wonder why this werewolf was walking on it's hind legs, instead of on all fours. Was the Reverend only partly transformed? And what the heck was up with the werewolf wearing pants and boots? That doesn't make sense🤷🏻♀️.
I was so afraid of that movie when I was a kid.
I love this movie
Can confirm fireworks do work on werewolves and Skinwalkers
About 5 years ago a Navajo hit a Skinwalker with a M80 didn't kill it
But the Skinwalkers family said it was a welding accident everyone on the rez knew it was B.S
Cory Haim, You know who and what they are... Church is bad.
Why you be out there late at night
👍 -Jennifer Dylans' mom & son ✌️😋
Rambo would have eviscerated that beast! No fear, no regrets, just business as usual. Rambo!
I'm wondering if there is a Spanish dubbed audio. They always forget the Spanish dubbed audio
I used to love this movie….. until I read the novella. It seems silly in comparison. But there are good ideas in it though.
1:50 - :52 Who'd like to see this tested?
Anyone?
I'd like to see the ballistics get tested lol - it'd be very cool to see.

So scary
Love this movie and it is scary ,but the werewolf looks more like a bear .
In the last scene
Marty's my favorite character

Silver Bullet is the worst werewolf movie I've ever seen.
I do not reccomend it
There are worse Werewolf movies out there then SilverBullet, its not a bad film yes the suit could have been better but it was rushed it seems and a very limited budget. I like the movie and grew up with it. Cursed and The Howling and It's Sequels are way worse then this One the acting was good for the most part minus a few scenes and also has likable characters. The only good thing about The Howling is the Transformation scene the rest of that movie is boring as hell.
@@jimmyrobinson1136
The Howling was definitely very slow to start, but i appreciated the mystery, and the last half hour and ending were excellent film making.
I just couldnt really enjoy Silver Bullet. The wheelchair trope felt totally unnecessary, the plot twist was flat, and the characters were obnoxious. It just felt very undeveloped
Its cool i like that everyone has their own take on things it makes us different if everyone liked all the same Things The World would be rather boring and Vanilla.
@@jimmyrobinson1136
I respect your opinion on the subject
How this is the better than any demonic garbage movie out today 😂
Silver Bullet the last glimmering hope
