See the full letter in the description! I had to use trailer footage due to time constraints And to address some quick comments seasonal does not mean a destiny style battle pass it means instead of an annual model of what we had we’ll have faster more frequent game updates seasonally Regarding overland difficulty it will likely be optional
@Official_JakeClips I dunno about faster. We currently see updates every 3 months. Now we talking every 3 to 6 months that sound like more wait for less content in long run.
@Eweyhen that's not what they are selling us here though they are trying tell us we will receive more content faster than before while they fix things..
@@drgiggles8080 Like the good old "We need to fix Cyrodiil so you get new content there after that!" [insert the 7 years later (and nothing) meme] because they are good at telling "we will fix this and that and improve this and that" and no new content happens and the fixes break often more things than fix. This change is pure MAINTENANCE MODE. Any old players sees that unless full of copium.
The over land content difficulty increase, if its just making the mobs a little more harder to kill, ok fine. If they make it so I have to be in a full four man group to completely overland content...NO. We all quest and explore at our own pace and do not want to be forced to group up to do so. I am ok with some tweaks, I am not ok with them making the entire map a giant dungeon.
I think increasing the difficulty to vet dlc dıiungeon trash pulls would be fine. I can solo these without tank and healer unless there are too many 1 hit ko risky mobs in them.
@@eget4144 I think you are expecting a bit to much for the vast majority of the player base. Its one thing to make things harder, its another thing entirely to make it where it takes five minutes for me to kill five mobs in the over land. You have to understand most people don't have trial gear or even dungeon gear and its not cool to decide the difficulty of mobs based on that kind of gear.
each zone should have it's own difficulty, I don't think is right to be able to just run through all the zones very early in the game. There should be zones specifically for newbies. And they could ramp up specific spots in each zone and have like elite areas with prime loot. I'd say make the highest based game zones about twice as hard as they are now and scale them down from there.
Something I've wanted in PvE for a while is a more tanky tank with dedicated aggro skills. Both single target and AoE aggro skills. More beefy due to the damage pull that they would do because of this. It would make it feel more like an MMO to me. That is one of my biggest long-standing issues with the game.
I’ll be honest, whenever I hear “seasonal content” I always fear the arrival of microtransactions, season pass and all that. Hopefully that won’t be the case (In case they specified otherwise in the full letter, I’ll admit I’m too lazy to read it all right now 😂)
@@Mastattak that's exactly what's gonna happen seasons IMO are nothing more then Battle Pass i get the feeling it's a seasonal version of "Golden Pursuit" with a small story. 😑 Getting Destiny 2 deja vu here
Omg for those of you too lazy to read he Stated not a battle pass or season pass and there won't be FOMO content. They're literally just releasing content in smaller batches(seasons) instead of huge chapters.
Especially when a muppet like the current pvp designer tinkers on "balancing". Nobody expects them being super pros but that recent bg stream was terrifying to witness. I would have teabagged too...and i never even tbag 😂
To me, this has two words written all over: FOMO and WITHDRAWAL. I think this all serves a more addicting approach while at the same time reducing their effort, relocating (human) ressources.
The change from chapter is not reassuring in the current industry climate. They shouldn't have announced that until they have concrete stuff to show for what it means for year 1 of this new system like a roadmap of content or whatever. All I really hear with" bite size pices of content" is "we are gonna nickel & dime even harder" like smaller zones than even the smaller we had before or something split in 3 payments of 29.99 for the same thing.
@Official_JakeClips unless they eliminate cross healing it will not change anything. If wanna lower healing then lower healing across the board in cyro. Up it from 50% to 75% reduction . There are a lot of solutions that don't involve limiting pvp players skills and thus their builds and their playstyle.
Obviously it's a wait and see situation but initial response is not good and they are gonna drive many players away to other titles that are already stealing players daily. The combat system of eso is one of the few things that is unique and this takes away from that in a big way.
Pvp just wants good performance. There are lag bubbles you can literally run out of in large scale fights. We also just want cryodiil to look better. I don't think limiting our creativity with skills/builds in a campaign is gonna go well or be "popular"
who wants to bet the new content costs less, except you will have to buy more "cheaper" content, so that by the end of the year its going to cost you more then a single expansion.
As a mostly solo player, I’m not a fan of increasing the overland difficulty. If I have to be forced to join groups in order to do anything in the game this will end the game for me.
You can essentially one shot most overland adds. 99% of world bosses are a joke. It’s kinda lame and boring, and offers zero challenge for zero reward. When I say zero challenge, I mean literally zero challenge. No one is asking for you to have to join groups to do overland content, lmao. People just don’t want everything handed to them.
IDEA I'm still pushing! Having an alternate world map where champion levels are back on the menu, but at later zones, moved up champion ranks beyond the old school setup. For example, they can start at 160cp at starter zones and go all the way to 2000cp at highest tier. This would include dungeons and trials. As as bonus to doing these more challenging areas, all gear drops will automatically be purple or gold rarity. Also double the chance for housing item drops, leads, and exclusive content/items only found in this high tier map/world. "Just do it!"
meanwhile us pvpers have been waiting for a new BG or even imp city changes forever, i dont think ANYONE wanted PREMADE skills for only cyro, what a joke... like people who wanna 1vx and pvp wanna run around all using a copy pasted skill setup. the entire game revolves around making actual gear builds, this just doesnt even seem like something anyone wants. i swear these devs literally are so far disconnected from the pvp community its just a total loss
Feels like a mixed bag. I really want whiterun in eso and no chapters means no new zones on that scale. Its also all aimed at the try hard minority. Im doubtful this will actually end up being a good thing.
A bump in difficulty for SOME things in the overland is okay (or maybe a difficulty slider, or on/off switch?). I don't want every random wolf or bandit I come across to be like a veteran DLC dungeon boss. I play this game to relax and have fun after working all day. I don't want to be tortured or feel like I'm going to a second job lol. A fight against Molag Bal? Yeah that should be hard. A zombie or a wasp? I'm cool with destroying them in a single hit. Sometimes a girl just wanna collect plants and mushrooms and do alchemy, ya know? 😌
Agreed. We have dark souls for the gooners that constantly want "moar challenge". I think they need to stop listening to the most vocal chatter on the net, at least half of it is brainrot nonsense. Some improvement would be nice, but yeah I don't want to struggle exploring. Some of the only time I feel power is when I kill overland trash mobs that otherwise would be annoying. right now it's either 1.) way too easy or 2.) needs a group. There's got to be more inbetween
And this is exactly why your game is dying slowly each day... cause casual players wanna gatekeep the game... Why not have difficulty for all playstyles?
@@SkyTempleMusic wrong I've seen more games die because increase difficulty than anything else. You want a more difficult game then play something else. Every game doesn't need to be cater to the holy DS sweatlords. In fact I can list you over 40 games that I have seen die listening to you brainrot DS fanboyz. Do you want me to give you list of the franchises you have destroyed? Because I can sit here all day long and list you even card games that sweatlords have killed. You listen to these twitch streamers and youtuber too much. They are the minority. They play games for a living which most of us dont.
@@Jin44jim1 Okay sure buddy... let the numbers speak for themselves your game is dying... And also, isnt also brainrot running around 1 shotting everything in overland? its an rpg and if theres no sense of danger wtf is the point? im not saying it should be DS difficulty, but seriously... even a 3 year old with downs can play the game at this lvl
I hope "increasing overland difficulty" doesn't just mean giving enemies bigger hp pools... I'd be willing to bet that it's exactly what they'll do. I'd much rather have them just hit a lot harder. Honetly, the traps and slows the NPC's like to do in DLC zones are more frustrating than fun.
Eso has serviced off elder scrolls fans not mmo fans. Chapter's and the regular mini skyrim game are why eso still lives. Zenimax listening to the youtubers who live in the game and the crazy few who get married in the game is an awful idea. No one i know wanted harder content, more opportunities for micro dlc and no chapters. Look at destiny 2. That game stopped dlc and started sessions and it died almost immediately.
Craglorn used to have harder overworld content. Random groups of trash mobs would chase you and mess up your lowbie alts while trying to harvest mats. Felt more like a chore, than "woohoo, random bears I aggroed are like an epic boss fight" every couple of minutes.
Maybe I’m just odd but I’m not a fan of more difficult overland content. If I want to get smacked around I would go play Dark Souls. I hope there will be an option for people to opt in or opt out of the difficulty
When craglorn first came out one wasp could easily kill a player four wasps could kill a group. The adds by the delves could wipe you in 4 seconds so hard content is just until they get it will be wasteland like it was.
@wdeemarwdeemar8739 I agree craglorn was more dangerous before the revamp but it's also why it was a dead zone. Difficulty made it hard to get groups that stuck around through the quest chain or doing it solo for 99% of the playerbase
People aren’t asking for Dark Souls level difficulty. People are asking for content that is not so easy that you can clear it on a level 3 with no gear on. It’s mind numbing.
That's the divide between casual and committed players. If you're just looking to play the game to hang out and not have an optimized build, the over world is meant to be easier. For more dedicated players with an endgame build, overworld feels pointless as hardly anything is a threat. The only challenge comes from veteran raids which also takes a lot of time and effort set aside.
Without annual Chapter release, what new stuff they're going to sell each year now? Will the seasonal contents mean we have to buy more different "DLCs" to experience new lores? Kinda nervous about this change ngl
They’ve done that without any success. We’ve had patches in the past with zero content under the guise of “bug fixing” that largely did nothing for the game
They gave up. Community rubs it in usually. Not very motivating. Then again, they don't fix anything that is really known for years *looking at you stuck in combat bug. They just milk the cow with as little as possible effort.
@Daniele-PierreDuLac bug patching shouldn't be happened during the quarter release cycle. Bug fixing should be rolled out separately. There are way to many "features" in the game that shouldn't be. I perosnally beleive they miss the mark on this because they don't have a dedicated team to bug tracking and fixing. This process appears to be a part of the Dev Team.
Not going to lie sounds like maintenance mode to me. Things I want to see join able vampire factions. A join-able necromancer guild with dailies and rewards for Necromancer players. Feels like Dark Brotherhood is the only evil faction right now and I love it but think it could use more variety.
Releasing one big chapter a year leaves a big gap before the next interesting content, people come back to the game, complete, then leave.. this idea should help player retention and interest.
Ditching substantial chapter updates for smaller seasonal updates is not an exciting change. This feels like a game downsizing and getting one step closer to maintenance mode - ESO makes too much money to go away, but since the entire game industry is cutting expenditure and looking to get paid more for less, this seems like it might be the end of significant story content for the game. I'm mostly a PVE player, and the reason I put up with ESO's constant rebalances, monetization and endless grinding is because that was the trade-off for a game that didn't end - every year a new area, new storyline and side-quests to explore and enjoy. Don't get me wrong, I like PVP and am glad those modes and older zones are getting some love, but didn't Zenimax already put an end to fourth quarter expansions like Deadlands, etc. so they'd have time for those sort of reworks? In retrospect, it feels like the standalone companions released recently were a trial run for crown store mini-content that can replace expansions (similar to a game like Starfield selling individual quests in its paid mod store), and that the new golden pursuits are likewise testing the water for what seems likely to become a season pass in all but name. If this is going to be the model going forward, its a huge step backwards in my opinion, and one clearly driven by monetization and not player feedback or quality game design. To me that letter raised many red flags. I was genuinely surprised Jake wasn't more critical or cautious, seeing as he's usually one of the more level-headed ESO commentators. Hopefully I'm overreacting, but looking at how almost all modern Bethesda games exist to nickel and dime their most loyal fans, I really suspect I'm not.
Thank you for putting into words what I am thinking, too. I already hate the psychological methods they probe. Also, if you try and name these things on the official forums, you'll get a warning. They don't want to be exposed, I guess. And they censor your commments if you try to get people reflecting on the monetization aspects more deeply.
I hate the idea of limiting what skills you can use in cyrodiil, why the hell did I grind all the world skill lines the whole draw to eso is being able to create your own unique build, if they make this change it will drastically reduce build diversity. If cross healing is such an issue then just fix cross healing
Limiting skills in Cyrodiil is a terrible idea, and it will be the death knell of Cyrodiil. I enjoy Cyrodiil now, though I recognize it can be improved upon, and have ideas about that myself, but if they restrict us to new Cyrodiil specific skills, I'll never want to go back into Cyrodiil. It's a monumentally stupid idea. As for seasons; they're changing to seasons because they (the execs) see it as an opportunity to rake in more cash. It will not benefit us, and I prefer the chapter model. When will we get new zones now? Will we even get new zones? If so, how will they handle it? I agree the base-game zones could use a face-lift, and questing could use a more dynamic difficulty scaling, but if they just increase the difficulty without thought for new players, many will turn away from the game. We have the benefit of years of play, champion points, powerful set gear, mythics etc, new players don't, and often still die in the content that's become so easy for us. I do not find this update encouraging.
I am perfectly fine with seasonal content if the content is permanent. if they make stuff like cosmetics into a battle pass like system and they are limited or brought back at a later time in the crown store then so be it, that's okay. my biggest problem with seasonal content is the removal of it when the season or year is over. I play Fortnite and used to play destiny 2. in Fortnite you may like a weapon or a location, but it might go away the next season and WILL go away once a year with the new chapter. In destiny 2 they decided not to make a sequel and instead sunset (removed) content that me and others paid for, and most new content is seasonal and get removed at the end of the year. yeah, sometimes it's frustrating when you try to play old content and nobody else wants to play it but it's even worse when you can't even play it at all. as long as they don't remove content and overcharge for less content a year I don't mind if it's spread out further or what it's going to be.
Not gonna lie, kinda sad to not get new chapters... Im a TES fan, I love the lore, so questing is one of my favorit things in ESO. So knowing that there wont be new massive questlines anymore is kinda sad... Im happy about everything else though.
@@Official_JakeClips Right, but if you read the letter at the end they specifically say they're not going to be focused on new zones as a result. I think adding content in existing zones is great and releasing stuff quickly is great, but the game should keep expanding. Also how does "LUSH" factor in now huh ???
@@provisionalhypothesis no, the game shouldnt keep expanding. the game desperately needs an overhaul for existing content and this is a step in the right direction.
"As 2025 will be a transition year for new content, we are going to have new zone-based content launch in 2025 - but you'll have to wait until April to hear the specifics about how it is different."
Most of the changes to zone difficulty and bringing players back to early zones is already done so well in GuildWars2. The zones should have levels and when you are above a level in a zone you are leveled down for that area.
As a grandma, 72 yrs, I could use a better tutorial for cyrodiil, and for pvp, as I die in seconds ... but I love the idea, so any help with that would be great! Love your video's!
I can help you. First, cyrodil is horseback riding so make sure you do the cyro tutorial so you can get the support passive that makes your horse faster; additionally ideally, level your horse speed to 60 or at least 30. Then, you go to where you see keeps that look like there are battles on the map on the resources near them or if the battle is at the keep, use transitus to get there or close to it quick and then go defend the keep, or defend the town/village. Do the daily quests in villages your team owns for more solo play. Also pick up scout quests at bases to do more solo things. Try to get into a group by asking when defending a fort with others and when you find a group running around with horses, just follow them and stay with them as being solo in cyrodiil you will just die. You can still run around solo without much danger on horse unless near an enemy keep.
Unless they address the insane CC immunity issue PvP will never take off, that part alone will frustrate the heck out of any new players. Imagine going to PvP thinking you can at least root someone only for them to shrug it off and be immune then proceed to play peekaboo with you all then continue to be immune to any and all CC. Yeah not fun.
seasonal content makes me nervous, i don’t want it to become a game full of microtransactions. as it is some exists but it’s not necessary to being able to play and enjoy the game. similarly for combat i’m nervous because i’m a solo player most of the time and i really don’t want to have to struggle to kill stuff when i’m just farming materials or doing quests. i will say that i’m hopeful about the cyrodiil update. i don’t have gold road so i don’t have scribed skills. i’ve spent the last several months being utterly roasted by ball groups running the same scribed skills 💀🤣
I don’t believe so because they’re switching from an annual model to a 3-6 month one. This doesnt relate to a battlepass in any form especially because the annual model didn’t have one
I think the game is big enough as it is. They need to stop expanding and double back and start improving what's already there. Not just bug fixes, or even quality of life things that would be great like the add-ons that everyone uses just make part of the game, but just the regular things that are there. There's already so many sets we don't need to keep adding more and more sets. Combine sets that people don't need two different versions of like spriggins and spinner. Make that one set and then if you want you can add another one. If they want to incentivize people to play the current content more improve the sets with like a perfected or collected version. Something like if you're wearing five pieces of a set but you own every piece from that set you get an additional line as if it were a perfected set. That would get people going back trying to collect all the set items.
This PVP change you speak of, could very well kill the game. Many of the PVPers are the only players who regularly log in daily, PVE players bounce around to other games, PVPers do not as much. If they fuck this up and chase them away, the game is on a timer to shutdown.
I love ESO, I've invested countless of hours to the game and to my templar, I usually go off the game for some time and then come back, I've missed a lot of updates and mechanics, but I catch it up quick, my only concern is that with seasons, as a casual gamer now, I might miss some time related events, temporal events, gifts, gear, etc, that would totally ruin the experience for me. I'm hoping that doesn't happen, but let's see what happens
I’ve not played eso in a long time, so maybe I’m missing something here. Why update and polish animations in a game revolving around animation canceling? Did they finally get rid of it as a “mechanic” or what’s going on?
I don't see the Cyrodiil change working. Why would people leave the existing campaigns to be voluntarily nerfed? It seems like they're just removing customization and are basically admitting that they have no idea how to fix the current state of Cyrodiil. Their solution for "fixing" Cyrodiil performance feels like they just want to remove the number of skills that are possible there so that there's less to keep track of there in terms of the computing requirements on the servers. Additionally, I think people also want changes to the gameplay itself since it's been the same gameplay loop of horse simulator to zerg down a keep, resource, etc. and then just rinse and repeat has been in place for a decade now. Lastly, I wish they'd do something to get people back into Imperial City and the sewers as I love that content. It was a blast back in the day when it was more populated.
I really love the idea of updating/bringing current the early zones. That's pretty cool. Cyrodiil being more integrated also seems like a great idea. We shall see.
Super worried about the Cyro update. Zos has a bad history when it comes to tolerating high skill 1vX play. Nothings wrong with fewer skills, but I’m concerned the restrictions will be designed to force players in group play, which in term incentivizes ball group and Zerg play. Neither of which are innately bad, but both of which are the status quo for most MMOs. If ESO has anything special about it, it’s the feeling of 1vX in open Cyro.
On one hand I DO like everything I heard. Cyro, overland content, vanilla zones, new player experience - all great ideas! On the other hand, the new BGs are just worse than the old ones. From my experience 8x8 may be fun sometimes (say, 30% of times), but 4x4 is always an easy shot for one team and torture for the other. So, I guess with the new ideas it will all depend on the quality of implementation. Let's hope for the better! UPD: As to the "seasonal content", which obviously worries many players, I think it might have been a problem 10 years ago, but now, with all the chapters that we already have, switching to smaller content updates is ok. If you play 2-3 hours a day, it will take you 2-3 YEARS to thoughtfully complete all the questlines in the game. Sure, if you rush through quest markers without understanding or listening to the dialogues, you could do it much-much faster. But if that's your style, then why would you play this game in the first place?))
Limiting skills in cyro is terrible. We already suffer from too few options if u want to be meta, but at least there are different kinds of cc's, diff sources of healing, lots of flavor options ...if they dumb it down, all individuality will be lost. I hope im overreacting.
I think a self- nerf is a little unnecessary. It's more fun to change the difficulty for everyone in the zone so that you or your group has to work towards something. This got lost when ZOS decided to make the zones easier to cater to new/casual players, leaving the rest of us bored out of our minds. I don't know many current seasoned pvp players that want a campaign that severely limits their abilities but we'll see. This seems like they just don't want to/can't balance anything and they think this is a viable option. People also "really" wanted no cp campaigns and those are basically dead. I hope I'm wrong, but fixing Cyrodiil performance would go a long way to improving populations.
According to my spellchecker microtransaction is a word but macrotransaction isn't. I think as more games switch from yearly DLC purchases to seasonal, this too may change.
What this really means is, they're going to fix the game less and give us less content. We didn't even get new dungeons half of 2024. Trust me it means they will fix the game less and give less content. This game has been on a pattern. They always talk alot and deliver nothing close.
I dunno. I was really looking forward to January to find out where we are going next, and now I'm not getting anything ? I was in Seabloom Villa last night dreaming of going to Old Aldmeris, sniff. :/ Increasing overland difficulty is fine, more group content is okay I guess as long as we can still random group for it, I mostly play solo. Improving base game textures is great; some of those zones really show their age compared to new ones. They LOOK like 2014. I was just hoping for a new chapter and it kind of sounds like an excuse not to give us a new zone honestly. I actually enjoy Cyrodiil the way it is, I find it relaxing and I actually like just exploring it on my own with a little added danger. I like holding and capturing keeps and doing dailies in there, but they could be improved. But all new skills only for that zone? I dunno. we have ENOUGH skills bro as it is. Battlegrounds 2.0 was such a disaster I am worried they don't know how to make fun experiences or understand their players. Not all of us are competetive PVP people focused on the meta that want this game to be collar doody, some of us like to live in this world and appreciate the lore. Tutorial changes I don't care about. I actually liked Balfiera for the lore alone, make that zone part of the game.
No one said we aren’t getting anything. We are still getting new zone and story content just it will launch with seasons and might be released later on in the year
@edc6172 I read the letter they said we're not getting a new zone, the new zone and story content will be in existing areas. it's at the end. we'll get the new content in April but it won't necessarily be in the form of a zone which is concerning. we'll see.
I took a break from eso but I love your videos and being able to stay up to date with the game. I am interested to see how 2025 plays out and will stay excited for your new videos ❤
I like the overland difficulty increase. The seasonal model concerns me. I hope there is not additional cost associated with it. Since we have eso plus. I would not want extra fees added on.
I know it's kind of weird, but I'm so glad they're going back to the wailing prison. It's like old school TES games and really set the stage for the main quest line. Now it's so easy to forget it's even there, but it's the central plot to the story! Not sure how I feel about the PvP specific skills, but glad to see they're mixing things up. I think it would be fun/funny if they had some kind of NPC Imperial army spawn periodically from the IC and just wreak havoc on the Cyrodiil map. The seasons sounds like GW2 living world model? This model makes sense to extend the life of an ever shrinking Tamriel map, I just hope it doesn't turn into more FOMO, or an incongruent mash of old and new content in older zones. I wish/hope they'd add some more RP elements like class story lines. In the MMO Dark Age of Camelot, each class had it's own story, and groups of classes stories converged at a certain point, but it really made you feel like your class mattered. I hope they do something like that, and get those new textures out yesterday! Great recap thanks Jake!
taking away skill options wont bring back people or retain them in PvP. They need to address the root problems like how ridiculous high health has gotten, proc set damage, and crit being TOO good of a damage type. Taking away and simplifying the entire ESO experience is the wrong idea to go with. They need to add a battle royale for PvP and simply address core combat issues to alleviate the balance for Cyrodill and address the LONG standing same bugs and lag in there. We used to have 300 people per alliance in the campaign and we had TONS of procs and abilities and items all going off. The difference was palpable to what is the current sad state of affairs in PvP balance and damage dominance
As for ball groups there is NO other option to dealing with them in a fair manner than just reducing what I already mentioned above. Groups are entirely reliant on procs, crit and high health levels to not be killed by more talented solo players in open world. While reducing those also weakens solo players, it is FAR less of a nerf than it is for ball groups by nature of how ball groups wear sets and skills. It will be a massive benifit for everyone when ball groups arent invincible. They will have to reduce cross healing in an indirect manner like preventing multiple heals of the same type from stacking
Visual updates has always been a disaster in all games I've played. Usually it ends up being the motivation to quit. I've been playing ESO since beta, because I still like how it looks like. In fact, I prefer all the original zones much more than the latest. Everything looks great until Wrothgar ans Summerset, then everything looks slightly worse. I really hope they don't change the textures and color of the original zone. They have more to lose with that than win. They'll lose more player who enjoy the game as it is than the players they'll recruit. Also, the players who enjoy it as it is, are also ESO+ players. They should respect them and respect the game look as it is.
I think I get your point. They leaned towards more and more high fantasy settings, disregarding the cozy, yet realistic scenery that drew the masses to Skyrim.
@@provisionalhypothesis - Morrowind was much more slow paced, too. If you mean TES III, that is. It was by far not that flashy, turbulent and out of scale like, say, the Archives. It was more fantastical, though, then Skyrim or Daggerfall. That's true.
Ok. I forgot Morrowind, it's indeed great too. But the point is that it's not a good idea to change the established zones. It's too risky and a waste of time. Better invest in new zones and leave alone the original zone. If I wanted a different game I'd be playing another game.
I love them making the overworked harder. I have wanted that for a while now. Even as a mostly PVE player I have thought something new/different needs to come to PVP
@Official_JakeClips I'm going off other gsme models here but if I'm right no more than 20 skills across the board for everyone to use. Diversity is gonna die. And 20 is on the high end of things only because we have a 2 bar system
@@malachiwarner5699 lol ! so true. And they were SO proud of themselves; I never liked battlegrounds much but it got LESS fun without the third team ! and then the whole incident where their devs aren't experienced eso players, ouch.
@@provisionalhypothesis Yea 3 teams was way better in my opinion. Now it's rarely a fare competitive match. One team just destroys the other team. And I do battlegrounds just about everyday for daily reward and cuz I enjoy the fast paced pvp. It seems they are out of touch with the pvp community. The only problem I know of in cyrodil is the lag when there's to many players at war.
Unrelated but 2 things i really want is 1. Add factions, Good/Evil factions, idk if you guys have played DCUO how theres heroes and villains, i feel like eso should have that, cause why is the hero of the world in the thieves guild and dark brotherhood, it just never felt right (those are the best quest lines though) expanding on that, i'd also like the option to select a "deity" to follow on character creation (that can be changed at a church) that granted passive buffs and debuffs depending on if youre doing content with the opposition. (Excluding trials) sorta like the standing stones, i'm really into character lore building and do base my characters around daedric princes who i think are cool. 2. I'd like for them to expand on Werewolf tree as well as add a few more world and guild trees for example, who DOESN'T love the Reachmen? Maybe there should be a Reach faction or guild or a Briarheart World skill line, but going back to my initial talking point i'd like them to add a few passives and a few buffs that work outside of wolf form same as Vampire, i love using the blood frenzy morph for the 400 extra weapon and spell damage with ring of pale order as a Vampire BUT Im not really a vampire fan but it also seems so worth it to use on backbar when not using oakensoul, if it were my decision i'd like werewolves to have an equivalent of that move that worked in human form, maybe a werewolf finisher like the vampire bite too, little stuff like that is fun to do.
Very excited to hear there's going to be some polishing done, they have so much content that it make far more sense to double down on beautifying or fixing whats already there then to keep cranking out new chapters. So many of the base game motifs (and as a result NPCs) look like they're from a completely different game; they're almost unusable because the texture fidelity is so awful.
1. As a player that goes with ESO for story/zones/exploration I feel sad about thta change, but I understand that this is a MASSIVE game now with almost no empty spots on the map. I felt that this must happen at some point. I hope it will not kill the game. I hope one day when the MMO part start dying they might take it and made it inot a single player game, just for the sake of preserving this masterpiece of exploration. One good thing is that, I will have at least some time to play other games I missed, because for the last 4-5 years I was catching up with all the story zones... I cannot fathom how the new players might feel starting they journey this or last year... 2. The changes to the base zones are great idea, despite they are not so bad even after all those years. Some work might be done to increase the NPC outfits and general apperance of the base game though, because those differ a lot from the newest content. 3. Seasonal events. Not sure about that. There are a lot of concerns in the comments. I see it that they need to have a way to make revenue from the game they lost in the Chapter purchases. Ok, they don't need to put so much effort into creating one, but I hope the point is to move those people to work on the improvements/revamp, not to cut costs on the dev team. Also, this takes away the key feature of ESO - that you can play all the story from the beginning of the game whenever you like, even 10 years after it release. Now, it seems like if you miss the story, you miss it. It creates a preasure I hate personally. IMHO a better option would be to put a new story content in old zones (like the dungeons have I and II), e.g. Auridon I, Auridon II. It could be even connected with increased dificulty: zone I like now, the one tamriel. Zone II more difficult, like DLC zones/Craglorn/Imperial City Sewers, with wandering bosses etc. The base zones II could have a stories disconnected from each other, not like the base game campaign. That would be awesome and would open up a gazillion of storytelling oportunities. 4. Cyrodil campaign - that might be a good idea, like the campaign in Imperial City. It was quite nice, despite being in the PvP zone, with dialogues in safe houses. I liked it. I hope Cyro campaign will be similar. 5. loot/gear pursuits. Not a big fan. I still didn't collected all the item sets available in the base game. Also this gearset sheetstorm over the couple of years created those problems with PvP zones in teh first place. So no, I think not the greatest idea. Unless it is for example a chance to get perfected gear from trials doing overland content, that would be awesome ;) (sorry for typos, I have no english dictionary in this web browser yet)
@@Official_JakeClips I have found a letter in the eso forums, it seems that: 1) I missunderstood the meaning of cyrodil campaign, this is nothing story related :D 2) It seems that devs have the same thoughts about new stories in old zones! I hope it will work!
Their just going to per say charge $40 times 4 times a year for $160 a year instead of $40 chapter upgrade each year. I bet it a lot! This came after they canceled the 10 year anniversary event in America due to lack of money. Its all about money. I bet it 1000%. I love the game but basic stuff like annual upgrade prices shouldn't go up in price. People cannot afford that. And the excuse of updating it easier is just that, and excuse. There's no reason why they can't hire enough people to do annual updates as well as monthly fixes too. This is just excuses and real money greed.

I really hope they don’t do a seasonal pass Unless it’s included in eso plus because I already buy that each month anyway, but if they do add a season pass to eso plus ittle probs make it cos a few more dollars
Like a lot of the changes. Graphic updates, better tutorials for new players increase player base. Overland difficulty change sounds awesome. But seasonal content sounds like easy to make content because no new zones or stories etc. I wish we had finally some real new content. Something of Tamriel.
Updates to Craglorn will be nice to see. The group content and such ive always enjoyed doing. But there was never a good reason to do any of it and its almost always been too easy.
I agree that they have needed to buff overland content for a while. I also, need them to take out all these damn one-shot mechanics but that's a complaint for another time. What I don’t understand is how the seasonal content differs from the chapter content. You saidnthat it gives them the chance to possibly pump more out? I confused 😕
See the full letter in the description! I had to use trailer footage due to time constraints
And to address some quick comments seasonal does not mean a destiny style battle pass it means instead of an annual model of what we had we’ll have faster more frequent game updates seasonally
Regarding overland difficulty it will likely be optional
@@Official_JakeClips does this mean any new cool sets will be “balanced” faster? Because we need that.
@Official_JakeClips I dunno about faster. We currently see updates every 3 months. Now we talking every 3 to 6 months that sound like more wait for less content in long run.

As much as I want a full Tamriel map, some of the old zones need an update BAD
like Rivenspire. UGH. and Glenumbra. Can you give us some functioning cities back like Camlorn at least ? we all solved it over 10 years lol
Most people do 35k DPS..... And you are asking for that? Lol. Onlyvery few people do 75k+ and even fewer 100k+@@eget4144
This is all starting to sound like a lot of 'forced grouping' to disguise the fact that the actual /content/ is still the same.
each zone should have it's own difficulty, I don't think is right to be able to just run through all the zones very early in the game. There should be zones specifically for newbies. And they could ramp up specific spots in each zone and have like elite areas with prime loot. I'd say make the highest based game zones about twice as hard as they are now and scale them down from there.
It will be nice to be able to see old zones we haven't walked through in 9 years.
Hopefully that won’t be the case

I think this all serves a more addicting approach while at the same time reducing their effort, relocating (human) ressources.
I don’t understand how increased overland difficulty would be good unless the quality of overland rewards are drastically increased
Yes. more work should require higher bounty!
I’m now terrified that they are going to introduce a “season pass” that is separate from ESO+.
I think it is more likely they'll increase the price for ESO+, maybe through the backdoor of dropping the 12 and 6 month subscriptions at some point.
zenimax is fucking greedy so it could be a thing
The change from chapter is not reassuring in the current industry climate. They shouldn't have announced that until they have concrete stuff to show for what it means for year 1 of this new system like a roadmap of content or whatever. Pvp specific skills is a big mistake and will be the final blow to this games pvp community.
It could be or it could fix cross healing and shielding
@Official_JakeClips unless they eliminate cross healing it will not change anything. If wanna lower healing then lower healing across the board in cyro. Up it from 50% to 75% reduction . There are a lot of solutions that don't involve limiting pvp players skills and thus their builds and their playstyle.
Obviously it's a wait and see situation but initial response is not good and they are gonna drive many players away to other titles that are already stealing players daily. The combat system of eso is one of the few things that is unique and this takes away from that in a big way.
Yes limiting pvp only skills iz a death nail for pvp
@@lunajerag5532 it will also kill the set meta and economy. sell them now !

It sounds optional
Same, I hate bullet sponge games
You can essentially one shot most overland adds. 99% of world bosses are a joke. It’s kinda lame and boring, and offers zero challenge for zero reward. When I say zero challenge, I mean literally zero challenge. No one is asking for you to have to join groups to do overland content, lmao. People just don’t want everything handed to them.
@@Magplar Im ok with that, because it is not rewarding. Making it tougher will just waste my time.

I should probably get around to doing the zone stories before the overworld gets more difficult xD
Feels like a mixed bag. I really want whiterun in eso and no chapters means no new zones on that scale.
Its also all aimed at the try hard minority.
Im doubtful this will actually end up being a good thing.
Simple translation. Here’s our idea to get more than $60 a year for chapter updates.
I will uninstall and quite playing if they do.
Do you want me to give you list of the franchises you have destroyed? Because I can sit here all day long and list you even card games that sweatlords have killed. You listen to these twitch streamers and youtuber too much. They are the minority. They play games for a living which most of us dont.

Needs a massive combat overhaul
Maybe I’m just odd but I’m not a fan of more difficult overland content. If I want to get smacked around I would go play Dark Souls. I hope there will be an option for people to opt in or opt out of the difficulty
I agree. So I hope it's optional.
5500 Crowns for a new Trial ! What's not to love ! lol ;)

They need to polish off some of these long-running bugs. Dedicate a small team to start cleaning up some of these old issues. That woukd be nice.
They’ve done that without any success. We’ve had patches in the past with zero content under the guise of “bug fixing” that largely did nothing for the game
@@Daniele-PierreDuLac Battlegrounds 2.0 was a big nothing burger IMO
They gave up. Community rubs it in usually. Not very motivating. Then again, they don't fix anything that is really known for years *looking at you stuck in combat bug. They just milk the cow with as little as possible effort.
@Daniele-PierreDuLac bug patching shouldn't be happened during the quarter release cycle. Bug fixing should be rolled out separately. There are way to many "features" in the game that shouldn't be. I perosnally beleive they miss the mark on this because they don't have a dedicated team to bug tracking and fixing. This process appears to be a part of the Dev Team.
I'm excited to see guild changes
And they censor your commments if you try to get people reflecting on the monetization aspects more deeply.
yep. spot on.
I hate the idea of limiting what skills you can use in cyrodiil, why the hell did I grind all the world skill lines the whole draw to eso is being able to create your own unique build, if they make this change it will drastically reduce build diversity. If cross healing is such an issue then just fix cross healing
I want to see the ability to buy a craft board for daily and place then in ur home

I'd take it more serious if every single mmo ever pvp'ers didn't make this same threat lol
"the community demands change"* zos announces changes * "the community is in shambles" gimme a break
Ooo, new combat animation sfx...maybe make jabs look great again?!😁
more likely other skills will follow the jabs model and end up looking like shit.
It would be nice if the mages guild xp wasn't mainly achieved by finding lore books. A bit too rinse and repeat on the other toons, Imo.
Agreed. The daily quests doesn't help out much either.
100% agree
Fr 💯👍🏾
I hardly see how forcing special new skills we'll have to grind for only for that zone is making it more integrated
Always on the ball! Cheers, thanks for the news! Great.
I'm excited about
-redesign old zones
-enhancing PvP(I'm not a PvPer but glad ZoS at least hears their customers)
-increased difficulty for PvE
They always talk alot and deliver nothing close.
to be fair, scribing was a really big thing. battlegrounds 2 was a miss tho I give u that. would have preferred mirrormoor
I dunno. I was really looking forward to January to find out where we are going next, and now I'm not getting anything ? I was in Seabloom Villa last night dreaming of going to Old Aldmeris, sniff. :/
Increasing overland difficulty is fine, more group content is okay I guess as long as we can still random group for it, I mostly play solo.
We are still getting new zone and story content just it will launch with seasons and might be released later on in the year
@edc6172 I read the letter they said we're not getting a new zone, the new zone and story content will be in existing areas. it's at the end. we'll get the new content in April but it won't necessarily be in the form of a zone which is concerning. we'll see.
Thank you for all of this information 🙏
I took a break from eso but I love your videos and being able to stay up to date with the game. I am interested to see how 2025 plays out and will stay excited for your new videos ❤
"We're in the Endgame now"
I like the overland difficulty increase.
@@Valion ummmm.... MORROWIND ??? come on
@@provisionalhypothesis - Morrowind was much more slow paced, too.
Need tutorial on dungeon bosses for mechanic for trials and hard mode dungeons
bring back the old c p 810 max. But all I hear is them doing a cash, grab and breaking the game.
Skill variety is what makes the pvp stand out above the rest when compared to other games.
I agree I’m curious to see what’s removed
Right sounds like there gonna make it better like they did with battlegrounds. I'm being sarcastic lol.
The only problem I know of in cyrodil is the lag when there's to many players at war.
at this point they need to show, not tell. empty promises are worth nothing.
Unrelated but 2 things i really want is
They'll screw this up like everything else.
Unless it is for example a chance to get perfected gear from trials doing overland content, that would be awesome ;)
(sorry for typos, I have no english dictionary in this web browser yet)
Thank you so much for your comment and it translated very well 🫶
@@Official_JakeClips I have found a letter in the eso forums, it seems that:
1) I missunderstood the meaning of cyrodil campaign, this is nothing story related :D
2) It seems that devs have the same thoughts about new stories in old zones! I hope it will work!
removing skills or limiting them in cyro doesnt sound like a good idea too me.the cross healing is far more problematic
As long as its not temporary content.
The only thing that would bring me back at this point is a Bard class
Their just going to per say charge $40 times 4 times a year for $160 a year instead of $40 chapter upgrade each year. I bet it a lot! This came after they canceled the 10 year anniversary event in America due to lack of money. Its all about money. I bet it 1000%. I love the game but basic stuff like annual upgrade prices shouldn't go up in price. People cannot afford that. And the excuse of updating it easier is just that, and excuse. There's no reason why they can't hire enough people to do annual updates as well as monthly fixes too. This is just excuses and real money greed.
with AI, each dev and CC can be doing more work than before. So yeah.
It is 💯
After 10 yrs all I want from ZoS is to fix the combat bug in both pve and PVP areas. It's been a decade and STILL that's not fixed from launch
💯!!!
What bug is that??
@@Dre-dc1jh the bug where you are stuck in combat when no combat is going on and can't mount
All im hearing is a way for them to charge more for crap content. They take how to work on there chapters and they are lack luster now they think they are going to release seasonal content and its some how going to be better? Im not hold my breathe!
hey sonny can you shell out 500 crowns for a skill style lol
@@provisionalhypothesis I haven't shelled out a single penny on this broken game! I only play it because my friends want me to play it and help them with it. And every time I get on to help someone there are more problems with the game! No way I'm going to support a game developer by spending money on cosmetics when I know damn well it's going towards there wallets and into improving and fixing there game!
Beans on toast is not to be knocked Jake!!
Most of their recent changes are either bad or do not work correctly. And now they introduce even more changes. And you are excited....
We have been asking for change as a community I don’t think anyone has been saying keep everything the way it is this is sweeping change and updates and majority are 100% free
@Official_JakeClips I didn't uninstall the game yet, but haven't played since before 44 patch. Just keeping an eye on what's happening.
Just make everyone in pvp wear maras balm and light attack, that would probably fix the lag too. (sarcasm)
