If you were anything like me, you loved playing Mario sports games growing up. Mario sports games were among the best sports party games out there and Nintendo fans could always rely on several high quality Mario sports games during every console generation. But somewhere along the line, things changed. In recent years, Mario sports games have become a shell of themselves. The characteristics that defined the spin-off series have been sucked dry. With modern Mario sports games now offering the bare minimum amount of content and fun they can get away with, I’m left wondering what went wrong? - Ігри

I have always looked forward to a Mario sports game. Yes the switch versions were all a let down, compared to the previous games on past consoles. They stripped away the single player modes, like the tournaments, for online. There is nothing to unlock as you play the game, just free dlc. So, everything is hand to you. Mario kart at least kept the unlockable contents as a award.

Never really cared for the sports games, only played aces
The Mario Tennis Aces section was kind of a roller coaster. So it was the start of the decline on Switch, but is was also a good game. You said it couldn't match the magic of Power Tennis, but never elaborated on why. The Free DLC was a bad choice, but it also wasn't because they had a large starting roster and a sizable DLC selection. I have no clue what your point was about the character selection, you didn't like when they were series veterans but also didn't like a new character like Fire Piranha Plant? Did you have thoughts on Blooper or Kamek or Boom Boom, all new characters that were part of the DLC? Also throughout the whole section you never once talked about the actual game, like the gameplay or modes.
Overall I still liked the video, but that section needed some more time in the oven.
This is fair criticism. In all honestly I haven’t played Aces very much which is why I didn’t have much to say about the gameplay.
Overall the point I was trying to make was that Aces started a lot of the trends that ultimately hurt the franchise, despite not being the worst offender of it.

the worst thing about battle league is that because people don't like it we probably wont get another strikers game for a very long time even though I think a port/remake of the Wii strikers with online support and maybe dlc characters would do really well. I don't know if they will change anything but i hope they keep it the same.
I feel like Nintendo has lost their charm when it comes to Mario Sports games. During the recent Nintendo Direct, people were reacting very negatively towards Looney Tunes Wacky World of Sports by calling it shovelware. I find that ironic because the Mario sports games on Switch have been lackluster. Especially Nintendo Switch Sports. It just feels like Nintendo fans seem to hate anything that isn't from Nintendo. This might be a hot take, but I always found Wii Sports and Wii Sports Resort very overrated. I just never understood the big hype with them. I loved Go Vacation way more, but since that game isn't a Nintendo IP, it got overlooked. Even with it being re-released on Switch, it's still slept on.
BRO I KNOW RIGHT? And I love go vacation too! like I bet you if Nintendo made that game back then people would be saying it’s one of Nintendo’s best casuals games at least for at the time.
@NickMario1 Yes, if Nintendo were the ones behind it, Nintendo fans would've played it. The game would be regarded as a classic, but in old fashion, Nintendo fans aren't interested in games outside of Nintendo. They're very biased. Someone recently did a poll asking people if they prefer Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled or Mario Kart Tour. 73% of people voted for Mario Kart Tour, while 27% of people voted for Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled. If that doesn't tell you that Nintendo fans are biased, then idk what does. How is that boring mobile game better than CTR ? That's how you know Nintendo fans don't play anything else.
