You know what would be amazing? If every town just created a giant warehouse of perfectly useable furniture. Free to drop off, free to take, maybe a space TO DO restoration, two staff to help with loading and unloading, a truck for pickups and deliveries. The costs to the government would HEAVILY outweigh the cost of garbage disposal and to the environment. I see some of the prices of pieces at thrift stores and some of them are insane. Because they have higher overhead and staff and need to turn a profit. I LOVE that you not only do this, but you also encourage others to. If I could send you a warehouse I would 😊 Because I'll bet you find more furniture than you have room for. And I'll bet space is a fairly big deterrent for people who would do this. I would if I had a garage.
Wow, Katie it turned out gorgeous! The style you created with the color, stained top and the drawer pulls is spot on! You took this trash to a whole new level of stunning! Outstanding job! 😊❤
Wow! I did not see how this dresser could possibly be made to look new and more updated. You managed to create a beautuful piece that is both traditional and yet chic and sophisticated.
Saturday + a cup of tea + a new Katie video = the perfect day. Really love the transformation on this one! There are a ton of these faux colonial style dressers out there with the same wood finish, same hardware, and same dated look that are still solid. Love the new wood stain for the top, the paint color and the new hardware! Great job as always.
It looks beautiful. I’m really liking the new Fusion color, tapestry. It was the perfect fit for this piece. I agree with leaving the skirting board as-is. This one was a unique wavy bit. It speaks to its original craftsmanship/character. Can’t wait to see the next makeover. 🍁
I had one exactly like that. I wonder how many Canadian homes had one of these. Kind of wished I still had mine, now. Beautiful job. Contemporary but respectful.
Ms. Scott, a terrific job! Your instincts about the colors and the choice of draw pulls were correct. I particularly liked that you left the original skirt at the bottom, it adds something special to the finished product.
Glad you could save this dresser with solid maple- I was quite shocked how much furniture goes in the landfill- glad you could pull this out- it looks great 👍
I tried watching some other furniture revivers but none compare to you. For example, when they start right in to sanding and painting without cleaning and priming, I now just shake my head. Your work is great!
Katie, I absolutely love the idea of saving pieces of furniture from the landfill. They also get to live a new life in someone’s home. I agree that the detail on the skirting was unique and lovely and added interest to this piece. I’m glad it stayed! Thanks for sharing your talent. Beautiful result as always!😊
Katie Katie Katie! You've done it again! Love the old copper color pulls with the walnut colored top!🎉 Also love the original decorative skirt that you left. It looks REALLY REALLY GOOD!❤
Ahhhhh … this is a Sunday pleasure here in Australia! Gentle spring rain outside, the weekend newspapers and puzzles and Katie with a new and fabulous makeover 🩷🩷 ☕️🗞️!! Doesn’t get much better! I really love this one Kaitie.
What you do with a piece of furniture is this side of miraculous. I have my grandparents colonial style bedroom. What I wouldn't do to have you renovate it. Sigh!
What a Diamond in the rough. THANK YOU for saving this solid-hardwood piece! It turned out perfect! B~} I hope that you are able to sell it for top price! B!}
So relaxing to watch you work your magic on another rescue. And part of that is the music you choose. ❤️💕🇨🇦 Love the putty, brown and copper handles combo!
Wow, at first I thought she is keeping that skirt on the bottom? However when you showed the finished project I was omg yes! Gorgeous piece, just gorgeous.
Wonderful job, what a difference! I love watching some thing they save from the landfill and my goodness you are beginning to make me really love beige! I like using a dresser as a TV stand. It gives you so much tidy storage for all the odds and end things you want to keep near the living room but don’t have room for. Snuggly blankets, games, movies, photo albums, and dog toys ect.
That looks great! I just refinished a dresser much like that. Unfortunately, I got curious and sanded the drawer fronts to bare wood and white washed the entire dresser. I wish I had only done the top as you did. Beautiful job!
I am enjoying your return to more approachable projects. I always adored when you did something really complex but I feel like even I could do this. That’s how approachable you are!!
Your videos are my guilty pleasure ❤❤Another great project, good call on the bottom detail. I appreciate that even though you have done a ton of these videos, you never edit the details on your process, which is the key to the quality of your finished pieces. Thank you for your overall presentation in your videos and end products. You definitely found your niche!
Hooray ! You did it again. Just beautiful. Anyone would be proud to own this lovely furniture piece. I love the way you style the pieces. They look so classy.
Thank you, Katie! I’ve been waiting for this video! Need to refinish my grandparents bedroom set much like this dresser and it’s very, very difficult to find videos on how to bring this maple furniture to present style while still honoring its past. Thanks again!
it's lovely!! the cooler, muted neutral colour makes all the difference, rather than the reddish orange of before. You were right: that's all it took to bring it up to date! lovely work! kindest regards, k
I was looking forward to seeing what you would do with this when you found it. I think it looks amazing. It's so warm and would look good in just about any home.
I’m a new subscriber and have become addicted to your channel. My husband and I are moving cross country in a few months and I’m getting so many good ideas for our new home from you.
Great job Katie! I didn't love the Tapestry color on the table you did last week, but it sure looks fabulous on this dresser with that dark stain and the bronze knobs.
Your attention to the details makes your pieces stand out. Always enjoy your designs.

Such a beautiful neutral piece. YES! I learned a thing or two about water based stain. Thank you!

Katie, all your work is top-notch, but with this one, you "knocked the ball out of the park."
Looks really modern now ❤
Great transformation! Here's to another 60+ years for this dresser!
Another excellent makeover. Love your attention to detail and all the prep time you put in. It shows in the finished item.
I love the stain and paint color together! The knobs an handles are the icing on the cake

That looks great. The hardware was perfect choice.
One of my favorite transformations you’ve done!🎉
Wow! Just lovely! Thanks for saving this piece and giving it a new life.

Great call on leaving the skirt on the bottom. It’s a lovely touch.🌸
Really great makeover. Love the colour choice and new knobs and handles . Well done Katy🫶🫶👏👏👌
I for one, am obsessed with that light yet warm neutral color on your last few projects ❤️
Beautiful absolutely gorgeous. The new nobs and pulls looks a bit darker but I do love it❤
Amazing soooo beautiful. Love the color combo, perfect hardware. Glad you left the bottom as is it worked with the end result. ❤
Absolutely gorgeous transformation. Can’t believe it was being thrown away!! Thank you for saving it and for the video!
Love this transformation. Glad you left the bottom as is. It adds character. 🎉🏆
Love the color and hardware!!! You are saving the planet 🌎 one piece of furniture at a time ❤️🇺🇸💙

I didn’t think I was going to like it at first, but it turned out to look very elegant!

Wow. Learned that an old base can look good in even with a modern update. Really like it.
Another great transformation!
Glad u kept the curve at the bottom! It is stunning!
It's beautiful, Katie!
Live that tapestry color. 😊
I had the same dresser in my childhood bedroom with a matching maple four-poster bed
What a great flip again. Luckily it was on your way🍀🍀🍀🍀
Wow…..Katie, this is so beautiful! Looks very classy, like a High Dollar piece. Great color & handles choice.
So beautiful!!!😊
What a Diamond in the rough. THANK YOU for saving this solid-hardwood piece! It turned out perfect! B~} I hope that you are able to sell it for top price! B!}
Wow!! We’ve ALL owned this same dresser but this is beautiful!!
I also like the front detail- glad you left it 👍🏻
It wouldn’t have been the same without it. 😉👍
BEAUTIFUL!!!
That’s gorgeous, Katie. Just love it. ❤️
So relaxing to watch you work your magic on another rescue. And part of that is the music you choose. ❤️💕🇨🇦
Love the putty, brown and copper handles combo!

Beautiful. If you weren’t on the other end of the country, I’d pay good money for that dresser. The hardware is perfect.
Very very nice!! The wood top and paint color blend so well together.
I love the warm color and it pairs so well with the hardware and stained top. Great transformation of an unwanted piece!
Hi Katie ....wow, outcome is great -- big difference ! We've all owned this piece .... keep it & get busy painting !
That looks great! I just refinished a dresser much like that. Unfortunately, I got curious and sanded the drawer fronts to bare wood and white washed the entire dresser. I wish I had only done the top as you did.
Beautiful job!
Great job. I love the hardware. It’s MUCH better than those half dome looking things that many people use.
Katie, I love the dresser! Wish I lived closer to you, I’d get it!
Wow! The hardwear is perfect with the paint.
Wow! I wasn’t sure of this one when I saw the top, but it now looks fantastic!
I am enjoying your return to more approachable projects. I always adored when you did something really complex but I feel like even I could do this. That’s how approachable you are!!
That will fly out your studio door. Great color choices, and, the hardware makes it so attractive.
Love it! So glad you kept the bottom skirt piece.
Beautiful, elegant, and as you said, ready for a new life until its next incarnation ❤
WOW...what a difference! Looks so stylish and new! Great job young lady.

I love the paint/wood combo!
I have the same dresser and tall boy that my son had in his room growing up. Thank you for showing me what it could look like refinished.

Very elegant, love the lines. The colour is wonderful, goes with any existing colour palate. Great work Katie.
You always inspire me! Maybe one day I’ll try a small table but until then I love watching your videos on Saturday’s. Makes my weekend for sure❤
Absolutely beautiful! You just WOW me.
I love the way this piece came out. I always love your videos.
This is such a HANDSOME dresser. LOVE IT!!
So stylish, I would use it as a buffet in my dining room.
It’s beautiful Katie! Love the hardware you used! 🥰🥰🥰
Katie so beautiful love the colors
Omg! I was iffy about your leaving the base in it's original state, but should have known to trust your judgment. It turned out gorgeous.
Honestly, I always love the choices you make in redesigning a piece. It looks amazing.
Your work is always extraordinarily amazing , along with another great video .
