This might just be my favorite transformation! This piece is now ready for a nursery, a "big kid's room, and even a dorm room or first apartment. This piece is ready to grow with its new owner! Bravo!!!
I liked the white washed wood. It's bright and if that's birch, then I feel it's perfect. What a lovely restoration. It gives this beautiful piece of furniture the dignity it deserves!
Beautiful and perfect for a childs bedroom. The original colours while bright were totally understandable for a childs bedroom and the original child probably loved it just as much as the next child will love this version 😊
That was a perfect choice for white wash on this child’s chifferobe 👍🏼 seeing how easy that paint lifted up was very satisfying lol. Nice save Barry. I hope this makes some child’s room very happy ❤
Oh Barry, Beautiful!! You even did a paint wash! I couldn't believe the build up of paint on there, WOW. Those are the pieces that give painted furniture a bad name, you saved that one!
I feel like a chifferobe would be a good fit for a wardrobe minimalist. Like many others, I remember having a piece like this when I was a child - with the decals. Nice work Barry! Thanks for sharing!
Hi Barry, my jaw dropped the instant I saw this psychedelic piece! Yuk! It was getting trashed for quite a while from all sides, but you, ever the fixer, saved it just in time. It had completely lost all its charm, but you found it again! I loved the natural birch colour, but I suppose the whitewash look would more suit a baby’s room. I love that you can see the beauty beneath all these “makeover jobs”. It’s like you have created a new item from scratch! We all love what you do! Keep well and busy❤️😊🦘🇦🇺
You did a beautiful job on this piece of furniture and I really like the piece. In fact, I wish I could find one like this for my daughter, who has a baby, it seems perfect. My husband collects vintage camp trailers and I love the warm birch cabinetry in many of them, so I would have preferred you use an amber shellac finish and was disappointed with the whitewash. Although, a young person with a child these days probably would prefer the light color. I loved the decals, so cute!
I so look forward to your videos so I’m going to check this one out now thanks Barry for some entertainment watching with great enjoyment from Southern Maryland.
Barry, I never know when you have uploaded or not. YT cancelled many of my subscriptions and added ones that I never heard of and do not like in my "subscriptions" feed. I still hate that they removed the "dislike", but that is the thing to do when you are telling people what to think. You have a good eye for almost every project, I thought the whitewash would be bad on this, but it would have been boring without it or stained a dark color. I use those wooden knobs all the time, but most seem to not like them. White is the perfect choice especially for a child's room. Good to see you got a heater and humidifier, it is so dry up there in the winter the humidifier makes all the difference. I like how this DREO heater turns itself off if knocked over or you forget about it. I learned to use distilled water in the humidifier so I didn't get that water sediment cloud everywhere. That blue in your living room is my favorite color, and looks great with MCM furniture. Since we have seen so much denim all our lives, that color is almost like a neutral color. IMO. Did you ever do anything with that curved sofa you bought? Have you ever seen this Modustrial Maker? I think he used to be in finance but he is hard working and really creative, he reminds me of you. Most of his stuff is "off the wall", but oddly looks very good. Also, Trena in Canada continues to amaze me, can you believe she made a mistake and showed it in her last vid? Thanks for the upload.
Great restoration piece. I remember Lullaby Furniture Stores. I think it was in 70’s. I can’t remember when they closed their stores. Did they go out of business or sell to another company? Carol from California
Beautiful work as always. You never disappoint. I have what might seem like a stupid question. But I'd like to know how you dispose of the stripped paint?
@cynthiafisher9907 Thank you. Yeah that's what I've been doing. Summer time it would dry fast, now that it's fall/winter in my area it'll take a bit longer to dry.
It’s an interesting choice for restoration; I often wonder what prompts you to tell us this story or that. Since you have been showing us glimpses of your family connections, is this foreshadowing? Lol, it looks good in your house.
I’m in the middle of an amazing restoration of nasty painted 1990s trim. Of course, the reveal isn’t as magical…but it has to be done none the less 😂 I so wish I could be working on a cool furniture piece. Instead I’m getting splinters scrapping off paint on trim boards I could just go buy new 😂
I have a like and a dislike 🤥. First the dislike: I missed your voice. The like ofcourse is how beautiful the piece looked when you got done with it. No surprise though! I love everything you have done so far.
I know you want it a bit generic for resale potential, but I think it would have been cute to have painted the 4 wooden knobs with kid-friendly designs that add a pop of color. For example, the four knobs could have 1. a red fire truck, 2. a green tractor 3. a blue VW wagon 4. a yellow school bus. Of course, this set of knob designs would be good for children of all 4 genders: firefighter, farmer, hippie, and American who thinks school buses are yellow in every country. But seriously, adding cute, colorful designs to wooden knobs is a good way to let a piece of furniture be for kids. If they think it is "too childish" they can replace the knobs with different ones and if they give the furniture to a younger sibling who doesn't like the designs on the knobs, getting new knobs with a design they do like could be a bit of fun for them.
These pieces of furniture are pretty cool, but it's too bad they made it out of birch. Not that pretty of a wood, not sure if I dislike the wood itself or the whitewash more. Still enjoyed watching the video though.
Oh oh shoot dude why did you white wash that beautiful wood? It didn't look as though the wood was damaged? I've really enjoyed watching your videos except for this one, kind of disappointed.
Yeah I would have liked to see more footage of the quality of the wood after stripping the paint and sanding and adding minerals etc. But I would guess that a good number of people have a yellow tint to their wood floors so they don't want their furniture to match their floors. The yellow birch is probably more yellow IRL than it shows up in the video and after white washing, that helps mute the yellow tone a bit.

This wardrobe may have originally been intended for a child's room, but I could see lots of uses for this. Beautiful restoration as usual.
This might just be my favorite transformation! This piece is now ready for a nursery, a "big kid's room, and even a dorm room or first apartment. This piece is ready to grow with its new owner! Bravo!!!

Lovely restoration! I missed your 'story telling' - but understood that sometimes the work speaks for itself. A lucky child to receive this piece!
Beautiful and perfect for a childs bedroom.

I love that you saved those stickers! Made me chuckle.
*Beautifully Done Barry* ...
*Ready for another 70(+)yrs*
Oh so satisfying watching that paint coming off to reveal such beautiful wood! 👍🙏🤓

Fantastic transformation! I did miss your narration in this one, but it was great watching you bring beauty back to this piece.
Barry, nice to see you. I always enjoy all of your work. Thanks for sharing w/ us.👍🏼❤️
Getting rid of all that nasty paint, I breathed a sigh of relief. Outstanding results....as usual.
This turned out so well. Good job!
So cute that you saved the little pumpkin stickers 😊
Beautiful, useful piece of furniture.
I remember seeing that Lullaby label on a piece of furniture when I was a kid. I’m trying to remember what it was.
I'm so engrossed by the gelatinous gunk that comes off...lol. It's stunning now!
I always love your videos. Great job, Barry!!
Beautiful! The whitewash is so versatile.
I love it!!
That child is blessed!!
Once again, Barry, what a great restoration as usual
Great job as always
Love the white wash on the wood. This will make a wonderful addition to a nursery, or a toddler's room. Great work Barry.
travail bien fait ¡ j'aime ce meuble
Loving the beard, Barry!
Definitely colorful 😊
That cabinet turned out awesome!!! I especially like the drawers behind a door on one side, and space to hang items on the other.
I feel like a chifferobe would be a good fit for a wardrobe minimalist.
Like many others, I remember having a piece like this when I was a child - with the decals.
Nice work Barry! Thanks for sharing!
Great restoration, also top beard!
A beauty!
Qué sencillo y bonito 💚
There are all sorts of Healing, my friend. This is a worthy one. Watching is also. Thank you. I could see msny possible uses for this tender beauty. .
Lovely restoration that can be used for years. The outlines of the transfers were poignant. Thank you Barry.

Such a beautiful transformation. I love that piece! Very cool!
Wow,great choice on this special little cabinet. I remember a neighbor had one just like it in the fifties. ❤
Phenomenal!! Such a beautiful restoration. What an amazing piece it will make for some family.
Best video ever 👍🏼🤩talking not needed work speaks for itself

There is something quite satisfying watching you strip paint. Thanks for your wonderful videos 😊
Really nice results, Barry! I don't recall you using a whitewash finish before, but your skills made it look easy

Very sweet, Barry! Peaceful ✌🏼

So pretty now

Loving the longer beard
Mickey from Fantasia!
You seem to find the vividly painted furniture. Thank you for turning down the volume on those colors.
Beautiful work as always. You never disappoint.
I have what might seem like a stupid question. But I'd like to know how you dispose of the stripped paint?
That’s not a stupid question. I would let it dry up and then throw it in the garbage, but that may not be the right thing to do.
@cynthiafisher9907

I need the commentary. Who, what, when where and why.
Nice job,did you grow your beard for hunting season ?wish you luck !😊
Na
No wonder you didn't narrate. There are no words to describe how ugly those colors were😂It's beautiful now, though
🙋♀️😋
👍🏻😍💣
These pieces of furniture are pretty cool, but it's too bad they made it out of birch. Not that pretty of a wood, not sure if I dislike the wood itself or the whitewash more. Still enjoyed watching the video though.
Finally. No bullshit sentimental talking, pure work! Keep on going this way!

I don’t like the white wash at all 😮
'70s colors...need brain bleach on those before pictures.
