Very relevent in 2020 during the COVID 19 Pandemic and Quarentine. I think it is interesting that the Pandemic happenned during an Election Year, actually during a Primary where with all the Corona Virus Panic- the Primary was no covered and an Establishent Candidtate again won the Nomination.

I recall in the 80s the first time a friend of ours brought this album and we heard their music for the first time. It is just as great and relevant now as it was then. We loved them, we loved the 80s music scene period, because the music was great then and it is timeless, still amazing now.
Appreciate the qualities of this song; 1-The words are sung pure and without any technology improvements. 2-The sax solo 3-The infectious bass line throughout 4-The musical influences of reggae, latin, classical (harpsicord intro), Dylanesque vocal delivery and Morrison-esque stage presence 5-We will never see such talent again (my prediction) 6-The ability to use music to influence politically in a melodic and hypnotic way 7-His words were true as we can see now how the media and politicians conspire against the very people they swore to protect and serve.
Definitely at a time when both the mainstream and the underground were mostly devoid of social/political content. I was deeply involved in the college radio/CMJ scene that unintendedly induced the major label feeding frenzy that kneecapped the music just as it was gaining traction. It took a number of years and direct distribution of easy to ship/cheap to produce CD's for the touring underground scene to recover. I can explain why it all got wrecked again because of a certain label CEO's crush on a certain vulnerable bandleader...

The opening line of 'video games train the kids for war' is scarily too real in 2022 where we've had mass shootings every other month by young people brought up on video games and far right ideology on the internet. I bet Bators never thought that line would become that real and prophetic.
I well remember seeing LOTNC perform this song at the now long-defunct Golden Bear venue in Huntington Beach, CA venue in the late 80's. Stiv's voice was as-ever powerful and a force to behold.
