Amazing song, first time we heard it, heard about this group, we were hooked. The 80s produced some of the most amazing music and this was one of them. Played it a few years ago for my daughter and she loved it, which shows that great music is timeless and ageless.
One of the most overlooked bands I've come across. Discovered them through being a 'Dead Boys' and 'Damned' fan. They've got some great lyrical content, its catchy and just about works between punk / new wave / and goth. Rocks hard
@cath salazar - have you seen the documentary film STIV? I saw it on Netflix, was great. Some good footage of Stiv car surfing! Also, do you remember when they released Like A Virgin? It was the encore when I saw them at The Marquee and Stiv was in a white wedding dress with white pantyhose AND NO UNDIES!!
@cath salazar I’m with you about music from that era. I followed Hanoi Rocks around and Lords Of The New Church hung out with those guys so I got into them too. Stiv was brilliant live but very unpredictable but that’s what made him special. The whole of the band were brilliant, never dropped a note. Was really a serious glam boy in those daze, still am!! Hoping to have an album out by the end of the year, I’ll keep you posted!
Remember those 80’s band at 39 now 71 damn still in to 80’s new wave bands never leaving best times ever new musis sucks best ever back in those really great bands so many memories!! Wish I’d seen him live what an epic icon legendary to say the least wanted to marrry him so damn awesome rip in peace stiv u stole my heart & soul u can stay there 4 ever dude!!!!!! ❤️👍😻🔥☮️🙏🇺🇸🎶
I was at this gig. Filmed live for a tv show called ‘live from London ‘ I remember they did a warm up track first and Stiv said to the crowd “ok when we come back on, go fucking crazy like we’re the Clash or something”. The whole set we couldn’t hear the vocals and the crowd got pissed off and started yelling at the desk to fix it. The couldn’t give a shit, they just wanted to get things right for the broadcast. Shame. Great gig anyway. Brian James is a legend. Imagine creating the Damned and then being in the Lords?
Damn! I've seen them in Northampton in july / august 85, at the Cinderella's ! Quite special atmosphere at that time. I was discovering England at 21. Bringing me a loooong time back.
If you can find it, I HIGHLY recommend Cheetah Chrome's autobiography. So many fun Stiv stories, and so much depth. It really makes you know the guys from the beginning to end.
That's what I'm saying! These types of bands and scenes don't exist nearly as much anymore...but atleast we have a place to enjoy them in their heyday before the internet put out mass produced, easily created music for the easily impressed.
I used 2 wear LOTNC patches on my jacket back in da day! I wux only 10yrs old I thought dey wear da coolest cats in town! Their musick jux nostalgic tho I want da 80's back! by popular demand!
I took this song and used it as how felt about high school and how they protected the football players against the regular students when they got Caught bullying them
this band had a unique sound. They had a small niche following..Saw stive in detroit on halloween nite .ive never been the same .thanks .U WERE AN ORIGINAL
I got into dead boys first...now I've just bought my first lords of new church album as they've all been released remastered...this is the song that stood out to me on the first album...stiv is great! He had a weird fucked up look that was cool for the kinda music he was doing...clearly a wreck head..but eh..why not..it wasnt that that killed him! Rip...
KISS Alive eat your heart out! Stiv had to rerecord every second of his vocals, and most of his between song banter, from this show for the video release. I was disappointed when I first heard that, but now I'm glad we have a really good live document to remember them by.
I find it my sad duty to simultaneously congratulate you on your taste, and offer consolations. This world is not kind to those who think and feel. ua-cam.com/video/Xt5OZJ1LrbQ/v-deo.html
I never understood when people were so upset when John Lennon, Keith Moon or any other Rock Star passed, until Stiv Died. Then I got it. I still get a tear when I think about it.
la leyenda dice que le atropeyó un taxi en Paris , donde residía , y en vez de ir al hospital , optó por ir a casa , murió de un derrame interno mientras dormía por no ser atendido debidamente
Shooté ?, ça je sais pas trop, d'ailleurs on s'en fout, mais qu'est ce que ça fait plaisir d'entendre nos années passées...........Thank you for this upload !
Saw Stiv try hang himself in Sac, through the mic cord up into the wood lattice above the stage and rung his own neck...we really though he was dead, just stood there and watched.
Yeah and back in the day some old fuck complained about kids and there lighters and how that when he was a kid they used matches and his dad rubbed sticks together so on so on
And, I think the movie we was aimin' for is The Deer Hunter(I mean, that *is* what this song is based on, right? lol), but, y'know, Apocalypse is pretty similar. I mean, they both show how fucked 'Nam was.

Love Stiv - So much Missed 💔💔
They. Are. Amazing. No. Auto. Tune. Pure talent
Michael Monroe still has this in his show-starter-song-list.
I think it tells you something about how FUCKIN GREAT this song actually is

Saw them in NYC around this time. Great show. Great energy.
Damn! I've seen them in Northampton in july / august 85, at the Cinderella's ! Quite special atmosphere at that time. I was discovering England at 21. Bringing me a loooong time back.
Beautiful music! I miss the 80s!
If you can find it, I HIGHLY recommend Cheetah Chrome's autobiography. So many fun Stiv stories, and so much depth. It really makes you know the guys from the beginning to end.
I have just realised, I saw them twice in Marseille. Great true band... Still RIP Stiv...
One of the best 1st albums ever ! Huge !
How blessed are we to get to watch this, just, at a whim?
That's what I'm saying! These types of bands and scenes don't exist nearly as much anymore...but atleast we have a place to enjoy them in their heyday before the internet put out mass produced, easily created music for the easily impressed.
Cool, I remember them from 80s on mtv. Haven't seen or heard em since then. Now I must have more...

Edgar Alvarado you should have spent more time learning how to spell and less time listening to music.
escribe bien idiota
Edgar, I understood everything you wrote. 🤓🧐

Thanks for posting this video! Precious!
This single was on a really cool looking picture disc.
VERY GOOD.........................
What a track.
Amo me lembro dos meus 30 anos, ia pros barzinhos e levava uma fita dos loiros na época era fita cassete
Continuação é que escrevi lorde errado, isso é grave
Awesome !
reminds me a lot of hanoi rocks
Stiv shared a flat with Mike Monroe (Beauty and the Beast, I’m not saying who’s who though, that’s up to you)
Im only 15 but i still think this band and the deadboys are better than any shit that plays now
***** Please describe the relation.

***** Ok...indeed DCD is way more serious, I was just curious. Cheers !

I was lucky enough to see Lords in 85 with Redd Kross as the opening band. Incredible show

Saw Stiv try hang himself in Sac, through the mic cord up into the wood lattice above the stage and rung his own neck...we really though he was dead, just stood there and watched.

Classic !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
¡¡¡Larga vida a Stiv Bators / The Lords Of The New Church!!!
Stiv Bators for ever
Respect.
what a shame brian james didnt do more
Rock Gawd!... RIP Stiv.
The way Steve Bators looked, I think he was the reason the term "fucked up" came to be.
When bands and the audience all looked cool and nobody holding a phone in the air.
Yeah and back in the day some old fuck complained about kids and there lighters and how that when he was a kid they used matches and his dad rubbed sticks together so on so on
OH MAN IS THIS GOOD SHIT !
La la la, la la la la.
La la la, la la la la.
La la la, la la lah.
RIP, Stiv.
The Russian Roulette scene was in Deer Hunter, tho, not Apocalypse Now
Tony's songs are the best ones-as usual huh ;) !!!!!
RIP Stiv!
Rest in peace
oh my stiv

RIP Steve

Stiv would be almost 65 years old
Now almost 70
Young
killer performance by the killerlords
I think I caught a contact high. Jesus Stiv, how much junk were you on?
Screw that man. they rocked and had a really powerful message and sound. Hate teh industry when they mold money into people!!!
Brian James the fucking man!!!
Did I see Robert Plant somewhere in the crowd for a second?
Exactly mate, it's a shame :-(
He looks like Paul Black from the original L.A. Guns.
Stiv Bators, Brian james and Clem Burk?
fuckin awesomeski!!!!
He looked completely out of it here. They had an interesting sound.
Voi pojat miten rokkaa, yhä vain!!!
Aina, ja ikuisesti!
Tiukuboy Tiukuboy i y

This song is pure sex to the ears😍
Ett av dom bättre såg dom live 86 eller något sånt måst ha varit ett bra år för då såg jag även cramps samma ställe som jag första gången såg ramones som jag det året såg i London
They dubbed the vocals even before the bubblegum show.
And, I think the movie we was aimin' for is The Deer Hunter(I mean, that *is* what this song is based on, right? lol), but, y'know, Apocalypse is pretty similar. I mean, they both show how fucked 'Nam was.
