As a great lover of Bach's music and this Chaconne, I congratulate you for this inspired performance. Maybe some purists out there will hate this, but I am so grateful that you have such deep respect for this monumental masterpiece. I am not ashamed to say that I actually started to get misty in some spots. Can't say enought about it. It's that good. THANK YOU :)

I'm a "historicist" and I always like hearing a piece the way it would have probably been performed on its time. But man, I love this version! Gives me chills. The piece is awesome no matter how you perform it.

This is VERY good. I can't understand why people only say "very nice" or "cool" to this.
Most classical renditions on electric guitar use heavy metal as base. I like metal, but the electric guitar is a very eclectic instrument for such limitations. The sounds you chose fit perfectly and the biggest part when doing such adaptations is choosing the timbre and effects for that piece.
    Congrats, man

I have always been listening to Bach and trying to focus and concentrate in the paths the various voices take. And this guy's voices are crystal clear. Love it or hate it, one thing is certain and it has been told a million times: Bach' music transends time. Even if you are a classical-purist you have to realise that there are so many reasons for someone to attempt to transcribe this solo violin piece for an electric guitar leading a pychedelic rock band, a mandolin, for eight saxophones, for an orchestra or for whatever instument you can play. It would be a shame and a crime for music if only the violin could cherish the beauty of playing the Chaconne.

Why so much hate? This is incredible. He's not aiming to completely recreate the original. If that's what you expected, go somewhere else.

I came here expecting to hate it. I don't hate it, because Bach pretty much always sounds great, and it's a fresh take on his music, and a nice break from everyone trying to sound historically informed. Good job!

I love what you've done to the last section (9:35) makes it even more psychedelic than it's been.

Bro this is fantastic. The choice of timbre with the different axes is a really great touch, and the technical execution is clean and tasteful. Incredible how well this works. My favorite thing about it is the even pulse of the rhythm section’s groove, which I think really “sells” the sense of it being an inexorable and relentless series of meditative variations. You don’t get that with the inevitable rubato of even the most down-the-middle professional interpretations. Just so, so great. Definitely my favorite transcription, by far.

How fresh! I've listened to this piece played on about everything. In my opinion this chaconne is the most beautiful piece of music every written. There's a lesson in your approach about how to bring tradition into the 21st century, not just "classical" music, but classical philosophy, religion, etc. You maintain the heart of the piece while making it audible to folks who would never listen to Segovia or Parkening or Bream perform it. I love the use of the various Fenders (and one Les Paul) and associated effects. You are certainly an artist. By the way, I discovered your performance after listening on UA-cam to Chris Thiele's perform this chaconne on the Mandolin -- another wonderful approach.

I really like the interesting use of pedals and other techniques that bring out the uniqueness of this arrangement. It reminds me of how Busoni really modified the music greatly in his arrangement. In addition, the Chaconne is a dance, so the steady and quick tempo is not out of place.

A wonderful interpretation. IMHO one of the best. Because it corresponds to Bach's worldview.
He was a Protestant, not a Catholic! This is obvious if we consider his works of the same period.
Most performers try to convey the abyss of despair without noticing hope and light ...
    ...and you did very well
    thanks.

Very cool. Respectful of the music, nor do you attempt to ham it up or burlesque it. And renders unto electric guitars that which is in their purview. I also dig how you used the bass and drums in an understated chamber music manner, not all that different from how John Lewis and the Modern Jazz Quartet might have approached it.
