House seems more like Las Vegas than Europe to me.
I’m from Spain and grew up in Vegas…you are absolutely correct.
No viva Las Vegas for me.. Lol
Honestly no matter how rich I was, I would never want a house this big. It just feels so empty and bland.
And no offense but as a European there's no way this would fool any European, this feels American and fake as hell
Agreed, I would have made the house half the size and doubled the quality. It looks cheap.
I thought the same thing. No way that could be in Normandie, USA only
I absolutely agree. I think this feels extremely fake and "nouveau riche", to any European or well traveled person. No attack on the amazing work that you guys at Austin flipsters do :-) It is just impossible to replicate the patina of time.
@@sofiasalemi4260 its a venue thats rented out for weddings not an actual house
This most definitely works better as a venue than a home. It doesn't feel warm enough to me to be a home. But I would absolutely use it as a venue.
one perfect example of Money doesn't buy taste...
Agree. I think this home is ugly.
Its beautiful and ugly at the same time. Beautiful craftsmanship but just so unrealistic for a "family home". Makes sense to just fully convert it to a wedding venue!
that’s boring tho. someone like me could wanna live in this huge house lol
@@Honeybaptiste me too lmao. I don't care if I am alone in that house. Not gonna pretend anymore 🤣🤣
am from Normandy, never seen something like this there
This place would be perfect for a fancy bed and breakfast or even like a wedding venue or party venue.
Edit: I just heard them mention it is a venue residence lol
what's a venue residence? This 11m is way better than that lake side 11m house. I could totally rent this out as marriage hall or an event place. This property is definitely worth 11m if you plan on keeping it long term but not as a home. People saying this is ugly are straight up blind.
Thats exactly what the current owners do.
I actually find it quite tasteless. I don't like it but this is only my opinion
Not to my taste either, BUT amazing to see how the other half lives!
All looks a bit "Las Vegas" to me - so far over the top it's down the other side! The other comments about taste/use of money etc say it all. The original French chateau architects and builders would be turning in their graves if they saw it.
Agreed... Trying too hard to look like something it simply can't be. Especially since "European" doesn't mean anything as typical Spanish, French, Flemish, Swedish, etc. houses are super different anyway.
I'm glad the future owner loves it, but it's simply just expensive bad taste to me.
I swear if I ever get big money Id never waste it on something like this.
Lmao I would waste 11mil on a house rather than a car…
Maybe this is an unpopular opinion but when I see these rich fancy homes with all this marble and stone and archways with intricate detail etc... it just makes my eyes feel tired. How would you ever rest there? Like the Palace of Versailles. Too decorative... Too busy for me to even imagine living there, as if I ever could anywayslmao, but would be cool to visit just to see.
I agree. It’s a museum, not a home. And these large places never ever age well. This is a money pit waiting to happen. The upkeep alone would be astronomical. Fine place for Bezos to stay when he’s in Houston. Or maybe Elon Musk is looking for a new home. Just nope. If I had a billion dollars I would not buy this place.
It’s not an unpopular opinion... what you said is reality 👍
Simple human won’t feel “Home” for these types of architecture 😁
They are rich and elite showing off their money.
For me personally, even a picture perfect apartment itself not a place to live.. I love to have the home more lively than picture perfect😊😊
money can't buy taste...
@@MariaSanchez-zf9cs did you just called versailles tasteless....Americans .....wow.....
This house represent US perfectly. They think they really did Smth, when in reality this Hause is hilariously putting diff timeframes together and it is horrendous.
But the audacity to put the Versailles in a sentence with this monstrosity is lack of common sense and taste.
It’s not France. Looks like a set for a bad movie.
😂 this place has literally been for sale forever. My dad literally considered getting investors and making it an event space and boutique hotel
Curious why they didn’t proceed?
Don’t get me wrong I’m broke just curious
@@angleav5226 if that's the case, there might be a room which should be opened in the home and people believe there's a ghost in the place.
That's a castle in the thumnail... the exterior is acceptable, the interior is whiffy.
Noticed in the comments a lot of people don't understand the difference between pretentious and gaudy...
This is one of my favorite channels on UA-cam. Great content.
You can tell the architects couldn’t decide between making this a SF residence or a party venue
Lincoln, FYI, in Europe thar outside structure is known as a "folly" when made of stone. Gazebos were historically made of wood. On this side of The Pond we peasants tend to lump them all in the latter category.
This property is actually close to where I live. Lol
Don’t be shy pull up on it lol
My favorite part of this comment is the LOL at the end of the comment
Tacky as Hell.
Wow...😍😍😍 Such a pretty house! My favorite part is definitely the stained glass windows!
In California it would cost like 200 million 😂😂
😭🐐
Not really, it would be maybe two or three times more near LA, but the weather and scenery around there makes it worth it. Let's face it, houston is hot and ugly af.
this is more like a wedding hall type of property. I am a wedding photographer and this is exactly what couples look for on the tristate area where I live in.
Amazing, thank you for nice video.
It’s very interesting looking and I think the materials and workmanship are excellent. However, it still looks like it was built in 2005. So it looks out of place in a way. Now, if someone was offering me this house for free, with all the upkeep included, I would take it on a heartbeat. It would make a great venue
Stunning!!😍
Been here for a few weddings. Overpriced place. Don't think anyone has ever lived here, its been used for wedding venues for years.
$11million and no pool? What were they thinking?
I'm picturing a small Napoleon statured man as the original owner - trying to make up for all his short comings. Money definitely does not mean you have good taste.
What do you mean? That horse fountain put front IS the pool! Gawky AF.
So cool!
Not a house, only an events venue.
This chateau was a popular wedding venue for many Houstonians. Sad to see it being sold.
ughh do you think it’s no longer going to be available as a venue? I’m so bummed
If it's not zoned for business and only for residential the house will probably never sell. Not too many cities are willing to change zoning regulations.
LOL coming from Vancouver, there’s a lot of these where I’m from
Kids would love playing hide and seek in that house.
Nobody would find little Johnny until he was 23!
Nobody would find little Johnny until he was 23!
Love that gothic courtyard. But otherwise this is too disney. There's too many historical styles mixed in together
Lovely Estate.❤
The kitchen is beautiful, we love this estate...
Would make a great boutique hotel!
This can be used as Event venue for wedding parties and stuff
ONLY 11 Million?! WOW, the cost of shipping and materials and work hours that's a steal. If this house was anywhere near a coast east or west the cost would be double or even triple. Texas and the south always have the biggest cheapest real estate.
And for everyone saying this house is not a "family home" of course it is not- it's made for a Larger family and multi-generational estate. Not your typical Nuclear American Family Doy! and the size is perfect for becoming a wedding venue, party, and Bar mitzpha and making revenue for that and it would not invade your everyday family areas! If I could afford this, I definitely would love to buy this. Maybe in the future with some investors. I'd def buy something similar if at all possible. 1 of a kind.
Side note In in VA and wedding venues alone can cost more than the actual wedding rentals and food etc. not to mention they are always fully booked and No were near as nice or large as this place!
Look at the size of the bathrooms you know it is for large events such as wedding banquets.
I appreciate how much more modern this is minus the antique furniture but usually they are decorated in the 11th century Romanesque style which was the style when they were originally built. I get most want to decorate it in that time period but is it really required, can’t someone decorate in their own style for once and be original to their selves? I guess to each their own, everyone has different tastes and I can appreciate that in itself. This is stunning and I thank you for showing it to us all, how I would love to walk the halls and just explore.
I wanna see yall turn into Houston flipsters
I like that you showed this to us. But jeez it's so tacky! There are beautiful elements, but it's so busy and over the top and the white and gold in that "ballroom" is just, kitsch. I would never want to live in it, especially not in this state. Such a waste of space and money.
It is good for hotels or place to hold banquets.
The bathroom to bedroom ratio seems weird haha why would you need that many bathrooms?
Visitors and Patrons..... remember it is used as a Wedding/15era Venue....
Or someone had persistent diarrhea.
It's because it would be a lot longer walk to the bathroom. Think of it as the ratio of bathrooms to pure square footage.
Ok but was that a Disney Haunted Mansion reference there with the "999 of your closest friends"?
Better as a venue than as a house.
I can see a venue/RBB.
This is the most beautiful home I have ever seen. Way better than that fugly 11m beach home.
Its too perfect
This home is my style! It is not over done or under done. Like Goldilocks.
Did anyone catch the four color bedrooms matches the four houses in Harry Potter 😂
I was ready to buy it, but the deal breaker was the microwave on the kitchen counter
It looks familiar like one of Taylor's music video's venue held
Make more videos plz
It is very beautiful and it looks like you're up but it also looks like a casino at some places I think the Ballrooms should have a higher ceiling and a little bit more sophisticated but they are very beautiful
What are the yearly taxes on a house that size?
200k or something. Enough to buy a small house in many places.
Not a hater however I like the regular flipping videos I’m not so into these home tours
I think we might be if it would’ve some taste
2008 crysis is coming back but 50x worst. be ready guys
No, it's not. The economic conditions are very different.
@@uniquelypositive yes it is my friend. Dollar Inflation, corona virus, the biggest corruption of the stock market (NAKED SHORS) of GameStop and a lot more. You should start informing yourself better.. 2008 was a joke to what's coming
Economists have been predicting this for years. Be ready.
@@jeanlarkin5343 do you follow the financial analysis on reddit named "Superstonk" ? Cause If you not I definitely recommend
@@jeanlarkin5343 also yes, be F ready. It's gonna be crazy. 2008 never ended 🤷
Wow😍
Beautiful venue, wouldn't want to live there!
It doesn't need to be flipped! 😂
It’s a museum..!! I would love to visit but want to leave.
I think it should be an event venue
it is an event venue!
I'd be embarrassed to have my wedding reception there. It's so tacky and over-the-top.
It great for week or three stay over event for Indian wedding celebration 😍.
It's not really a home is it? It was clearly built as a hotel /wedding venue.
I don't know any private homes with separate male and female multi cubicle bathrooms
that's not a fucking house that's a palace
100% would be the most beautiful wedding venue
Imagine cleaning that up 😜
You don't. You buy yourself a maid/butler lol
Only the exterior and landscape was beautiful. Inside was a bit blah.
@XO, MaCenna
Close to 1/2 million in taxes due...Who built this?
Imagine being a princess in ancient times and living in one of these huge ass castles and not being allowed to work or go outside sidndjdjdnd
Agree with most comments. Would never buy it. Does not feel homey. Cold & tacky.
Wonderful house!
this is an absolutely beautiful construction! if i had the money for such an amazing piece of architecture i would buy it in a heartbeat!
I been looking at this house for purchase for years this video has me closer . Drop 2 million also
On one hand I can understand why someone with enough money would want a house like this. However, you said it "feels" like a French chateau but honestly it's not only just an image of a European building, it's hideous. American temporary homes look really great in my opinion with awesome design but American houses like this consist of historic style elements put in a blender, ridiculously augmented and thrown on a good piece of land.. 😒 don't get me wrong: the craftsmanship, execution and selection of materials is great but I would rather buy a stylish modern home for my 11M 😋
No pool? For that reason I’m out 😜
Are they asking you to make this sound good? Just asking because usually you guys make fun of wood paneling and now you called it beautiful lol
It would make a great wedding venue or event space though
I mean the style is similar to a European style, but as a European I can 100% tell it is new. It really looks like the fake monopoly building feel Vegas has. 😬 but I guess it’s the closest Americans can get to the hundreds and sometimes thousands of year old building we have in Europe. I can appreciate the try. ❤️
Imagine having to clean all those bathrooms. lol Thats too much house.
Wow who lived or lives there? Crazy. I love some aspects of it but its sort of insanely too much. If I was rich I would not want anything soo big.
That is not a home, but would make a great event place.
I would choose to live in a 200sqm house than this
Definitely my dream home 😍😍😍
I would never purchase this even if I could 😖😖
It’s not worth 11 million if it doesn’t have a secret passage way to a hidden room 😂
😍😍
So much money...so little taste.
It’s not for everyone wont make sense to majority of people
They should just turn that into a wedding Venue. Cause its tacky ugly Large and in Texas %>& girl bye
That's stupid 13 baths but 7 rooms? No
Only $11 mill? Sounds like a good deal !
Rite, lol! Still cool to see!
Yea fr like I could just go to the bank and withdraw 11 millon rq and make a cash offer 😂🤣🤣
Yeah, it's relatively cheap for its size, honestly. A person could end up housing a lot of long lost relatives...
@@b_uppy I agree!
exactly, this is worth every $ of that 11m
Wow what does it matter when you're not the one selling the house so why so it on your UA-cam
Gypsy Style
Too traditional for me
If I am that rich to afford this, trust me... I'd build a modern Iron Man Tony Stark house. I would not waste my time with this type of house. I am just saying.
this does not trappet you to Europe. as a European, I would say concrete walls, triple glazed windows and homes that are actually build to last (like the apartment I live in that is approximately 150 years old, like the whole district) is what's transports you to Europe. nobody wants this fake Louis XIV. impression. that's just tacky.
Yeah it looks nice and all but honestly it’s too extra.
